I enjoy shopping at this location. I always discover something new to take home. The store is well-organized and the associates are helpful. However, I've noticed that many of the ready-made meals and produce trays expire that day or one day after. I can see there are many other complaints regarding the customer service at this location on Hulen Street and I would like to add what happened yesterday February 12, 2026... I needed some help from the customer service desk and there was a lady there that was very short with me and quite rude and condescending when all I did was ask her two general questions... She seemed to be having a bad day, but that was not my fault... When I walked away, I asked another employee what her name was and to my surprise, her name is Melinda, who is a supervisor of the customer service department... Well, that is quite unacceptable behavior from any customer service person let alone a supervisor... They need to do better in this store because they are losing a lot of customers due to their customer service or should I say lack of it...SMH read more

I'm not one to leave reviewed but I will never order my groceries from this location again, this is so frustrating. Do not offer a service if you can't make it right if something goes wrong. This is now the 2nd time I've had issues with my grocery delivery. Today I ordered groceries to be delivered and paid an extra $5.95 to have them delivered between 3-5 pm. I watched my driver in a red car take a picture of my groceries in his trunk and then he drove off with them while I tried to wave him down. I called Tom Thumb and their original solution was for me to call Uber and figure it out. Uber was never involved, I received any and all notifications through Tom Thumb. Not one mention of Uber eats during my ordering process. I proceeded to tell the employee this is not my fault and I'd appreciate the situation resolved and the solution was he could talk to his manager and see if they can get it delivered to me in 2-3 hours it's now 4:30 meaning I'm now waiting for my grocery order i paid extra for for 5+ hours in total and will now not have my groceries for my dinner I planned ahead for. Tom Thumb on hulen does not seem eager to help me resolve this issue. This is really disappointing read more

Disappointed in the quality of the Italian cream cake I purchased for party. This place usually has tasty options, but cake was not very moist and had a bland favor from cake to frosting. It looked pretty and the staff member was very sweet in in the bakery but not sure will get a cake from there again. read more

This is my go-to location. I typically order online and pickup outside. I've always had perfect, friendly service. Today I went in and encountered "Jennifer" in the self-check area. Her behavior was hostile and aggressive. She is not an asset to the perception of this store. She is rude, unfriendly, unhelpful, and her presence will keep me from using this store or recommending it. She does not belong in a customer service position. The manner in which I saw her treating customers was undeniably unacceptable. read more

I don't have any Tom Thumbs where I live, but I do go to Safeway quite often. I've learned by going to this Tom Thumb that is is basically Safeway. Everything looks the same... from the price labels to the way things are displayed. They also participate in the whole Monopoly game thing. Prices for food in Texas are pretty low in general compared to other states, so I felt like I was getting a lot of good deals on things. Bananas are only 55 cents per pound. Milk is like $4. On top of those "regular prices", I was surprised to see buy one get one on packages of meat. They also have a clearance dairy section. They have a rewards card like Safeway does, which you need in order to get sale prices on things. It's a pretty average grocery store if you ask me. You can get everything from produce and dry goods to toiletries and prepared food items. I'll probably be back because this is where we go to get groceries when we're in Fort Worth visiting. read more

Of all the grocery stores we frequent, Tom Thumb is our favorite. This was the 1st time we've shopped at this location and we were very impressed with the store as usual. The Tom Thumb stores are always well stocked and clean. We love the the produce, deli and meat areas of the stores. Tom Thumb's staff is fantastic and so helpful. I was informed to go to Customer Service, in which nobody came to assist me. I wound up leaving. . It's getting difficult to convince myself to keep shopping here. I have on several occasions purchased fresh produce that looked good from the outside but then was spoiled on the inside covered area of the container. High priced yet inedible. To add insult to injury I was treated like a criminal after I brought the containers and my receipts back for a refund. I had a lengthy argument just to get my refund. Better to shop at Trader Joe's down the street. Better quality at lower prices and never once have I had problems with the rare occasion I had to return something. read more

I very much enjoy this store. Tom Thumb is my ch classier and a few levels up from Kroger, HEB or Albertsons. Prices are comparable with the other stores yet the store is bigger, the selection is better and the quality is great. This store is not close to my residence so I don't shop here often. I do come here for specific items that I'm sure to find here or if I want to cook a special meal and want really nice ingredients. Personally I enjoy the setup of the store which I find appealing and convenient, abundant and easy to navigate. Just like most stores, here too, you can use your "frequent shopper " card for store discounts which at the end of the day adds up to great savings. This time I went in for a quick grab and go of a few specific items but I promise that next time I'll add more pictures to show it better. One day I forgot my phone and walked really far trying to get home. I went in when the store when it opened and it was like nobody wanted to help me, especially what looked like the manager of the store. They were more interested in their coffee shots from Starbucks. They couldn't help me call a cab or neither did they try. Thank God for a passer by that gave me a lift. I was really about to loose my compassion and faith in other people. read more

I often do curbside pickup as I have a handicap issue so it makes it much easier for me. On a couple of occasions, I have purchased milk and they pull the oldest carton they have. Today, they pulled a carton of milk that was dated 12/28/22. Today is January 8th. It would seem to me that whoever is pulling items, needs to check the dates, especially on dairy products. I called the store. They told me to bring it back and they will replace it. I'm glad I didn't need it tonight. They could avoid the hassle for me just by using common sense. read more

This grocery store was once one of my favorites. The employees were once very helpful and friendly but the management no longer feels it is necessary to hire people who treat the customers with respect. The self check sales clerk is there to be friendly and helpful and not snarky and rude when she has to talk to customers who need help with coupons. Whatever happened to "the customer is always right"? I do not even mind being wrong, but is it really necessary to correct and be made to feel like I am bothering the sales girl just because I need some help. If you do not want to help me with my coupons, MAKE YOUR SIGNS ON HOW THEY WORK BIGGER. That way I do not have to be told to read the tiny little 1" x 1.5" black and white sign that explains how to use coupons. Especially when there are 20 people waiting in line behind me. I will not be shopping here again and I will recommend to everyone I k is to go to Trader Joe', Central Market, or Sprouts instead of this Tom Thumb. Previously this has been my go-to spot to buy flowers to make into Arrangements however I got these lovely little spray roses less than 24 hours ago immediately brought them home put them in water woke up this morning to make some arrangements and they are just so whilted. I called and asked if they would exchange them and they gave me a hassle saying we don't usually do that and ask me if I left them in the car I finally just said you know what nevermind. and I told her you might want to go check on your spray roses because vthey are unhealthy. read more

The deli employees are so rude!!! They are out of their Primo brand turkey until September, when I suggested they put up a sign stating this, an employee shouted at me. They also have ham in place of turkey making it very misleading what is in stock vs not in stock. read more

When this store opened, it was a fantastic store. I cannot recall the manager's name. It has gone downhill in the past few years. I was digging looking for non expired food and one of the managers told me they all had the same date on them. Not true, the ones in the back were not expired. I also do not like his attitude towards people wanting a job with disabilities. He needs to take some lessons from Trader Joe's... they do it right! I did a curb side pick up order yesterday but when I got home many things were missing. I called the store and spoke with the manager Richard Gordon. He was so kind! He wrote down the things that I was missing and personally delivered them to my home! He asked what else I needed and brought many extra items plus a gift card at no extra charge! Just wow! Yes, there are a few staff members who are kind, but I'd say the majority do not want to be there. *After searching the baking aisle for 15 minutes* Me: "Excuse me, do you know where Mint Extract might be?" Them: "Uhhhh...check the baking aisle..." Oh really? I never would've guessed! Ugh. They weren't even busy, so it wouldn't have been that tough for this guy to show me where this product was. The amount of times that I have purchased expired items from this store is ridiculous. I can recall AT LEAST 5 separate instances where I got home and noticed that the stuff I just bought was expired. Today (august 31) I bought lunch meat and it expired in MAY, how does stuff sit on the shelf for that long, I would understand if it had just barely expired (not that it's any better) but MONTHS?! I've even purchased a block cheese and got home to notice it was covered in mold. I have brought this to management's attention every single time when I return my items and it's like they just shrug it off. I just got off the corporate line with a guy and he pretty much suggested to me, to check my items before I buy them, but if you ask me, I shouldn't need to check every single item before I put it in my basket. Finally after some convincing, he said he would forward on my complaint to the store and then hung up. It's so frustrating. read more

Now when you go there to shop, the shelves are empty, there is never anyone to help you especially after 5 pm and the few employees that are there are rude...They were always low on stock even before the pandemic started and now shelves are empty..would never shop there again..From what I understand they now have a store manager who doesn't really care and it shows..I know a lot of people who have stopped shopping there as well... read more

Would love to know the reasoning behind putting the floral department right in the middle of the entry way, making it near impossible to get around easily with a shopping cart. Also, you can't find anything, they've moved most everything and it makes zero sense where they've put everything. First time going here I purchased some Santa Cruz Organic Apple Apricot sauce and found, after feeding my baby about half the jar, that it was FIVE months expired! Now I'm not extremely fussy about use-by dates normally, but come on. Five months is a long time and my baby could have gotten botulism from it. So I was annoyed. I went to the store to explain to one of the check out ladies that I wanted a new jar (old jars were still there, but new jars were pushed wayy to the back) and that they needed to get rid of the old ones. She couldnt' have cared less. Not sure if that was the language barrier or her overall "I hate my job" attitude she had.. but I digress. She exchanged it and that was that. .. Until I got home with some of those on-the-go baby food thingys (they were the Happy Baby brand - beware) and one of them gave my baby a massive diarrhea blow out and made him vomit. I thought he must be allergic to one of the ingredients even though he'd eaten it before so I checked the package only to find that it, too, was expired - three months prior! And the stuff tasted like crap so I'm pretty sure that's what caused it. Bottom line, if you want things to be fresh when you buy them, and aren't a fan of risking sickness to eat their products.... don't shop here. read more

This is one of the better Tom Thumb locations, yes, but that still doesn't make it a go to store for me. On the same street there is a Trader Joe's and Central Market and right around the corner is a Sprouts. The prices are a bit high, especially when you compare quality at neighboring stores. The produce and meat department aren't that large and they don't carry a lot of non gmo/organic. With so many better options so close I don't see how this location will survive. read more

Our doctor gave us a prescription and a card with the price on it as well as a number to call if the pharmacist needed any information as it was a new item. The pharmacist tried to charge us FOUR TIMES what it said on the card because that is what he said he paid for it, and refused to call the number. The Clinic representative called the pharmacist for us and was shocked that the pharmacist seemed to have no idea what he was doing. The pharmacist was not only uncooperative but patronizing and very rude. If you want to find the worst pharmacist in Fort Worth - here he is! read more

A month or so ago I purchased several packages of expensive "Rancher's Choice ANGUS" Ribeye Steaks at this Hulen store. The meat was so tough it was barely edible. So today - decided to try it again --EXPENSIVE "Rancher's Choice" Ribeye Steaks. SAME EXACT thing... the meat is so tough & grizzly - half of my steak it NOT edible. I may possibly continue to visit this Tom Thumb - but I sure as hell won't be buying any more meat here! read more
