Literally, one of my favorite grocery stores, the pick up is amazing, the groceries are always amazing at a good price point. I enjoy that this store is not super packed and I can walk around and figure out what I need without anxiety. I also had food from the deli, and that was absolutely delicious! read more

Tom Thumb on Hampton Avenue on Friday 13, 2023 at 7:26pm First giving respect to the person in the Delhi area. Who originally helped me with the Tom Thumb app, trying to get the deal on the chicken. I am mostly impressed with the person who was at the front self checkout area going back and forth between multiple areas. "Ms. Kayla" kudos to this individual. They went far beyond customer service and making sure the fairness of the deal was there. This person help me navigate the app and made sure what I entered was correct. These things can be tricky for older customers and it's good to have competent individuals there to help navigate us through these trying times. Please Tom Thumb corporate office this should be a future manager Thank You for your service read more

This store is a joke. I get the worst service every time i come. Like it's worse than Walmart. I try not to shop here but sometimes it can't be avoided. I'm just so disgusted by the people that work here and their lack of manners, customer service or helpfulness. Just dont shop here. read more

The best thing about this store is the location. This store is responsible for my habit of checking expiration dates. I have bought expired food from the grocery department and deli department at least 20 times. It's not hard to check dates so customers don't have to deal with the incompetence and mismanagement, maybe instead of having 15 people on the front end, send a couple around to check dates, yogurt, salsa, seasoning, chips, baking ingredients, should be checked daily instead of never and letting your customers waste money on the over priced expired product they're peddling. Personally, I have told cashiers that there are expired items on the shelves at least 10 times. Just do better Safeway, grocery prices are insane enough, without having the waste. read more

Delivery did not arrive during confirmed delivery window, and after spending a lot of time trying to finding out how to determine status, (the app said my order was on the way), online chat informed me that my order couldn't be fulfilled, had been canceled And they don't automatically resubmit orders. Tom Thumb has lost a 30+ year loyal customer with this total lack of service- all they had to do was inform me that my order couldn't be filled today. This did not happen and I wasted my time and do not have what I had ordered. Horrible service. read more

I dont know how I feel about this Tom Thumb's. Its always crowded (Likely because it's the only Tom Thumb in OC), and they always seem to be out of a couple of things that I know Tom Thumb normally carries. But, I like their deli and the ladies that make the sandwiches are nice. If they could just update the store and parking lot and keep the shelves stocked they'd be perfect! I guess until they get some better options in North OC (other than Fiesta) this is it. read more

This location is CONSTANTLY out of: basil, parsley, onion, scallions, mint. Good luck finding produce on their shelves. They always under order and run out of fresh produce. We need more local grocers in the area so Tom Thumb actually cares. Half the time there are no baskets, and no one knows the name of any items on the shelves if you ask where something is located. Overall an awful store that has expensive prices. read more

NOW SERVING BEER AND WINE!!!! And boy what a selection they have!!!!! This new law making Dallas wet, is really coming in handy. That is all. read more

Tom Thumb - Grocery Near Me - Dallas, Texas

Facts: 1. Parking rows and spaces are narrow, making it difficult to navigate the parking lot. Not to mention, parking lot is always dirty. 2. The flower department is disorganized. Prices are not posted correctly or sometimes not posted at all. The flowers are displayed in such disarray. Flowers that are dead are being left out for sale. 3. The produce department is awful. Rotten fruit and vegetables are not thrown away and left out for sale, potentially contaminating the rest of the bin. This department is never fully stocked. 4. The fish market is the worst. The fresh seafood displayed is mostly frozen. Never seen that at a grocery store before. 5. The store is stacked with random pallets of merchandise out on the floor and displayed that take up lots of space, leaving less room for customers to walk. 6. The front of the store where the registers are located is extremely crowded. Again, there are displays at every register that crowds the are and causes an inconvenience for shoppers trying to line up to pay. It creates total chaos. Comment: I wonder if Tom Thumb cares about the community they serve. I moved into the neighborhood 3 years ago and have stoped shopping here. Granted I gave them many chances, but in the end, they always disappointed me. Now I, as well as some of my neighbors, would rather drive to the other side of town to Kroger than drive 2 minutes to this store. Opinion: This store needs an overhaul! We need an HEB to take over your space! Now that's a grocery store that cares about their customers and thst gives great customer service! read more

Moving into a new apartment after having driven half way across the country there are a few things you need to stock the place. The few days I was in Dallas helping my side kick settle in we hit the Thumb a few times. The store was very clean and had a nice selection of everything we were looking for though not necessary the brands we wanted, I think that was more a regional thing though. One thing I did find odd and it scared me a bit was the fact that they had cottage cheese on clearance, there's just something wrong about that in my book but other than that I was OK picking up things at the Thumb. As a side note if you spend $50.00 in the store using your Tom Thumb card you receive $.10 off your next fill up at their gas station, see I'm useful. read more

This is the only grocery store in my neighborhood besides Fiesta. I like getting produce at Fiesta, but prefer Tom Thumb for meat and staples (and booze). The Starbucks inside has great service, and the store is generally clean. Like another review has mentioned, this store is notorious for expired dry-goods on the shelves. It's not a big deal, though. I just double check anything pre-packaged. The only complaint? It's always ubercrowded without enough registers. I love the gas rewards and the pharmacy here. read more

Ugh. I know this is probably the best grocery store in Oak Cliff. But that's like saying that influenza is the best virus. I guess I am kind of a food snob, and a few years shopping at Whole Foods when I lived on the other side of the river really gave me high expectations. The Pros: They are super friendly. They do carry my fave greek yogurt, though not my fave flavor, they are close, always open and the fried chicken at the deli is smack-yo-mama-good. The Cons: The produce is meh. There is usually one item I find that is rotting and attracting fruit flies. I can't bring myself to buy meat there any there since I found a fly crawling around on top of the beef inside the cooler. Ewww.... have twice asked if they could stock a thing that I would buy regularly, and was told no. They told me they can't buy things that might not sell in case they go bad. How can I show I'll buy it if they don't carry it? Since I moved into the 'hood, they have improved a lot. I hope it keeps getting better, and I bet the HUGE beer and wine selection are certainly generating more revenue. read more

In the Oak Cliff area, this is as good as it gets for now. They have everything that a well stocked Tom Thumb would have as well as a Starbucks with friendly service. The lines aren't to long for groceries and there are plenty of employees in the store if you need help. The only thing they lack compared to other higher-end stores is an extended organic selection of both produce and staple items. They have some but the variety is limited. read more

This store is an interesting collection of gentrification... you can always tell where you are by the food or product choices right? This place is no different... they have done all they can to merge the two worlds into one establishment. You will find a fair amount of international food choices as well as the "other" end of the spectrum with organic fru fru... I thought it was cool to see the mix. Serving the beer and wine is a change because of rules now... thank goodness they made OC wet! All and all the store is clean and efficient with good choices, the only thing that turned me off a bit was the meat counter... something about it wasn't inviting. Otherwise I think you'll be pleased here. read more

The Starbucks here is super duper slow. Expect to wait even if you are the only person. And they give you a little bit of whipcream. The other down side is their deli counter for it is super limited and poor quality. I would rather go to krogers for cheese and central market deli meats. But the rest of the store and its employees are amazing. I usually go here after 11pm and the staff is always ready to help and cheery. There is a young women with a bob is the best. She always has a huge smile on her face and moves quickly. She tells others staff members what to with authority in the best way. The also have great dairy free and gluten free options. read more

The only reason this location is not a 1 star is because 8 years ago this was a good store. The kids that worked there were friendly and helpful. The Starbucks on location was great. It's a small store but they did a good job of stocking most things. Then something happened. Not long after they started carrying alcohol (not saying it's related, because this was an exciting time, but for timing purposes) things went downhill. Management changed. Aisles started becoming overflow food storage because the alcohol took up two aisles. Their hiring practices went awry. Some dude shouts weird specials and promos over the loud speaker, sometimes wearing a weird costume. They bolted lottery ticket boxes to each checkout. And the Starbucks suuuucks more than ever. It's never staffed fully, the SB staff (actually Tom Thumb employees) complain about management and how they are getting screwed compared to actual SB employees. They've been lackluster in their pandemic response. It all just feels like it's turned into a bazaar. read more

Absolute worst curbside experience. The replacements they made on my order lacked effort and common sense. They replaced pre-made coffee with a creamer. They replaced a specific brand of wheat bread with a different brand of white bread. And they replaced my order of 6 (1.5 L) topo Chico bottles with 4 (12oz) bottles. This is nothing but laziness, and lack of product knowledge. Defeated the purpose of curbside because I had to go inside anyways to fix their mistakes. read more

Tom Thumb is the only large chain grocery store near my house. I have shopped there for years but the prices have gotten out of hand and the service is nonexistent . I shop for a large family and I shop for two weeks at a time. It was nothing to spend 400+ dollars. When I started shopping there is was much more affordable but it seems prices raise week over week. At the end it was just not worth it. The service was bad, many times the food was of a lower quality and the prices were putting the hurt on my wallet. Even with the customer card and getting as much as 50 - 80 dollars off it was just way too expensive. Sadly I had to find another store to shop for groceries. At the new place I can buy the same products with some in different brand names and my bill is 100 - 150 dollars cheaper. While I do miss a couple of options at Tom Thumb that my new store does not offer I can and have learned to deal with it. read more

Unless you need bread and water don't make the trip! I'm a fan of Tom Thumbs and can usually find anything I need there and more but that's rarely the case at this location. More often than not I have to make multiple trips or some type of substitutions because they're out of things. I just asked one of the cashiers if she knew who I could talk to abt the ordering and she just said no and offered no other assistance. Crappy assistance and Crappy selection. Even though it's only 5 minutes from my house I won't be coming back. read more

This is my go to store. Meat is always fresh! Fruit & vegetables are fresh. They have a starbucks inside (I can't stay away from). A gas station outside on the parking, which is awesome because if you accumulate points in your Tom Thumb rewards card you get discount on gas. And staff is ALWAYS friendly! Over all, Tom Thumb is my favorite grocery store in oak cliff. read more

I love this store. I think its the best grocery store in oakcliff. I like the fact that everything is nice clean, bright, not crowded and organized and they usually have great sales every week. Best grocery store ever! So kind and friendly. They are always willing to bend backwards for you.

If you like rude employees, especially the Asian chick that works the cash register up at the front, has to be the most rudest of them all. The baked goods are bland and overpriced. The place is ridiculously crowded all the time and the people that shop there look like zombies buying all that overpriced food that you could get at any other store. There's nothing special about it.The parking is a nightmare, it's so small. To get in and out you have to risk your life with all that horrible traffic going up and down Hampton. It takes extra time to go there and extra time to get out of there. Not a good place to go to, just to buy grocery's. read more

This is the best store, if you're disabled, they have plenty of electric carts, and are very helpful and curious.

This people i have to say the least they are VERY DISRESPECTFUL and inconsiderate i happen to be pulling in the disable parking space around 9 pm when i pulled back to straighten my truck this guy recovering the shopping carts appeared from nowhere right behind my truck and hit my bumper and tail gate, i got off to see what property damage he had cause this nut head pretended as if nothing had happen he was moving away, i told him he should watch where he's going with the carts, this guy went off at me verbally, literally i feel he had not taken his medication or so. who known. tells me he will fight me and as i finish parking my truck i start getting ready to get off to go in the store, his yelling at me from the entrance to come on and fight,i started walking to the door a lot of the employee are at the door with him trying to calm-him down, as if he was the victim , i requested to speak to the manager which took around 12 minutes to show up i stared explaining what had taken place, by this time i realize she had already taking sides with that nut head employee, in which i feel he should not have been working there and much less the night shift or any shift at all, this guy is probably very poorly trained and under heavy medication, 95% blind, mentally disable, and gets the job on top of all this issues and all for one thing-- and my friend this is because of low low pay, what a shame ,Tom Thumb does not care about the customers , i should have recorded this young kids that were working their they really show their aggressiveness and unprofessional behavior oh by the way the store food manager then yell at me as i was leaving that i am not welcome back to this store, this has been my store from the age of 9 years, i feel this people need to be trained properly. read more

When I first walked in I was amazed at a clean store in oak cliff.. Most stores dont care n are dirty not this one.. The only problem Ive had was my daughters birthday cake.. I ordered it early April and requested it for cinco de mayo... It was suppose to be a specialty cake with only a minor change to it.. I requested the traditional size as well.. To my surprise I go to pick it up and its double the size and plain not a specialty character cake. I was MAD... The girl got an attitude and all of a sudden remembered taking the order when the cake was wrong n blamed me. The assistant bakery manager started air brushing my cake and getting it fixed... But still I was mad that I had a theme for my daughters party n now I had a huge cake that I didnt order.. The whole order was wrong all she got right was the color.. I requested a manager they showed really quickly. I explained to them what had happened and they listen and offered a 50% discount and when they found out I ordered a small cake and the girl up sized it to a huge cake she fixed it n I got 75% off on the cake... I would give this bakery another shot only if that girl isnt there I dont know what kind of revenge she would do.. read more

This is a store of which The Powers That Be should be proud: it's clean, well-managed, and hums with the efficiency of people who know what they're doing. The staff is helpful and sincere, the management is focused, and the pharmacy is really, really amazing. The wine selection could be a bit deeper - and it's certainly not expansive - but neither is it lacking or sparse. The beers are ample and varied - no disappointment there. I've yet to come to anyone there with either a question or concern that wasn't instantly resolved. When one of the personnel in the store went out of his way to help (and I mean way out of his way to help), I contacted corporate to compliment him. I never expected to hear from anyone at the store, but within minutes, the general manager called to thank me. That is the kind of service we look for and so rarely receive these days: generous, personal, and sincere. Who could ask for more? Yes, there are bigger Tom Thumbs; yes, there are more extensive wine and beer selections, but I challenge anyone to find a store that is more caring and committed. read more
