I have grown to really like Aldi. Unfortunately, the Manager Tammy was just outright rude. I'm not sure where customer service skills and politeness has gone but Tammy should search for it. If there's no customers just remember there would be no you. I see Tammy working and doing certain things with in the store for sure. However, Please remember you can stock as much merchandise as the store can hold but IF there's no one to purchase it then what has Aldi accomplished? I believe People ONLY shop in that store because it is located in their Neighborhood or just for convenience. I can assure you it's NOT because of the store manager and her management of customers. Hopefully, things will get better soon. If not for me maybe for the sake of the community that shops that store. The other staff is great and really makes you feel welcomed and wanted to shop there. I love Aldis. And this location is decent for the area. However, what's with the homeless cart guys? It drives me crazy. I need my quarter for when I shop at Aldis. Why do I have to give some homeless guy my quarter? I usually say no but then feel bad because he's trying to earn a living LOL, but I think they should position security outside of the door, not inside. I haven't noticed security in a while. The Forest lane location has security and no cart guys. That's because that area is super high crime already and everyone is poor. Ugh sorry to rant on the homeless, but they don't make great neighbors and you don't see them in Highland Park or Southlake!!! Do not sleep on Aldi's, I repeat do not sleep on Aldi. I just stopped by and it's Christmas week, while all the other stores have lines at the registers at least 15 people deep, I was in and out of Aldi within 20 minutes for a grocery run. Their prices are amazing and they have an and charcuterie selection, great for your party needs without breaking the bank!! read more

It was my first time browsing so I was too overwhelmed to shop but they have very good selections of produce and random things as well. You do need a quarter to get a basket, I didnt have any change so that was another reason why I didn't purchase: super interesting though. read more

Also, a problem I've noticed on my last few visits. Definitely some "shrinkflation ". Their salads. Previously one salad kit was enough for two people. Now it takes two packs for two people. Ive been shopping at Aldi for years but today this Aldi's cashier was so abrasive and insulting to all of us in line (at least the people in front of me), I couldn't wait to get out. She threw my items into the basket like they were on fire. She didnt use the top portion of the basket, forcing me to lean over and extract my few items from the deeper part of the basket while she threw the next customer's items almost on top of mine. I like ALDI and this location. Helpful personnel here decent quality produce end products. Used to have prejudged ALDI as a trash store the and friends have taken me here and I enjoy the shopping experience here. As far as their products....;They have a cinnamon bread that is outstanding that I buy all the time here. Their garlic is very good and only buy it here. So are their packaged tomatoes. This is my favorite grocery store. What other store guarantees they don't sell items with msg, gmo, and other chemicals. Organic produce prices are fair and the items that I purchase on a regular basis like cheese, eggs, half and half are a great value. I also love they have German specialties and holiday goodies that are far more expensive at World Market and don't taste as good. This store is in a transitional area, as are most Aldis, and is a clean, well stocked, bargain filled cornucopia of grocery staples. I particularly like their produce and meat selection and deals, among the best in town. I recently found a location closer to my house (on Gaston), but have been going to this one for years, and will continue to when I am in this part of town and need this or that in Aldis wheelhouse, which is essentially the kinds of things you buy most often at grocery stores. I was a fan of this location before renovations, but they have really improved their products and their prices are still well below super sized grocers. The cashier was rude and she did not even apologize, she asked the next person in line if she was rude to me...come on! This is one of the grocery stores that my husband and I frequent. While I like the prices and the ALDI specific brands, the store itself is pretty small. They sometimes lack normal items that I would find at a grocery store. I love their spaghetti sauce and their lean ground turkey. The milk and eggs are always priced really well. However, it is important to check dates on every item because items go bad a lot quicker. Make sure to bring a quarter for your cart and your own bags to bag your groceries. By shopping here, and making small concessions towards brands I usually buy, I save a great deal of money. read more

When I moved to Dallas from Houston one of the hardest things to say goodbye to was HEB. But ALDI is helping me cope. No special card needed a la Tom Thumb of Kroger. The people that work here are nice. Their prices are amazing - $0.99/lb for strawberries???? $2.49 for a gallon of milk?? $1.49 for a box of granola bars? They do have some things that are randomly expensive, like bell peppers and some of their mixed greens. I also don't like all the excess packaging they put their produce in. Also, you CAN get everything you need here if you're flexible on size/quantity/brand. Where I would spend roughly $100 on a grocery trip to Kroger, I spend $70 at Aldi. read more

I went to Aldi's grand opening. It's a tiny (tiny as in just 4 or 5 aisles) supermarket, tucked away in a smaller plaza behind the Medallion plaza. After getting a plastic shopping bag handed to me, I walked in to a row of awesome European snacks. Not the best day to be 1. hungry after a workout and 2. trying to be healthy. Prying myself away from the German chocolate wafers, my initial response was that, man, this layout sucks. Like I said, it's really small, and pretty difficult to maneuver. Things are kind of just stacked, and there didn't seem to be a logical arrangement of things. Admittedly, I do love grocery stores like Whole Foods, with their hardwood floors, beautiful lighting, and airy spaces, and Aldi is not the most aesthetically pleasing of places. In terms of prices, it was cheap; however, you will be hard pressed to find national brands. They had pringles, etc, but most of the snacks and other things were generic brands. I have no problem with generic brands if their ingredients are comparable. Produce was cheap too - a lb of strawberries for 99 cents? Awesome! But unfortunately, a lot of the fruit, like apples and bananas, are pre-bagged, so you're forced to buy 3 lbs at a time. Quality of produce did not impress me either - the apples were bruised and the lettuce started to spoil one day after I bought it. While I hate to let one bad customer service experience ruin my opinion of a whole store, I was so underwhelmed by Aldi that the cashier who decided, with 5 people in line, to take that time to amble to the back to get an envelope for something I'm sure could have waited until later, completely turned me off from coming back again. Even though I love me some cheap groceries, I don't think I'll be coming back to do my shopping at Aldi, unless I'm in the mood for some European chocolates... read more

The Aldi television commercial is not realistic at all to what I observed with my first (and last) Aldi visit. I was thinking it would a mini version of Whole Foods, Central Market or perhaps New Flower. In reality, it's like a ghetto Carnival grocery story or a Big Lot's that sells off brand food. Good house brands at great prices. They are not "off brands" as one reviewer stated. They are canned/packaged especially for Aldi and are probably made by the same companies that do the house brands for Tom Thumb, Fiesta, WalMart, etc. Hint: Aldi and Trader Joe's are owned by the same family. $1.58 for milk? 59 cents for large eggs? Aldi is a great concept grocery store. All private label brands, 0.25 deposit for a shopping cart, and if you want a grocery bag, you pay for it. This equals big savings that bring me to Aldi first for my grocery needs. This location is always clean, has a cared for appearance, and is rarely ever out of stock on basics. The private label brands are a good quality...if not better than national at times for a fraction of the cost. Their fresh meats have always cooked well at home and have a higher taste quality than the SuperStore selections. Their vegetable selection is limited, but all the basics are covered. No issues with veggies quickly going bad when getting them home. The staff are always willing to help answer questions and have been consistently friendly and efficient. When you go to Aldi, grab a quarter and a couple of carry bags....and either cash or debit as they don't take credit cards. Their new hours are 9a-9pm and they do close on most holidays. Given the excellent experience and ease of shopping, I am glad they reward their staff with this time off. Weekly, they have "Special Buys" of non-food items such as cookware, home supplies, etc that are good quality and inexpensive. Downside is when they're out of stock, they're out. Final Note: Aldi is THE store to save money on the basics while having a clean store experience with friendly staff. I shop here weekly and smile at the savings. read more

I went to Aldi with a friend in Bedford/Hurst/MidCities/whatever last week, and so I decided to stop by this one to pick up some necessities. It was excellent! Granted, it was 10am on a Sunday, but there weren't many people there at all, and the cashier was very quick and efficient. I picked up quite a few veggies/fruits, chicken breasts and pork chops, along with milk, eggs, yogurt, cheese, and some cereal bars for $34. Sure, they don't have EVERYTHING, but as far as I understand, that's not the point. The point is to pick up your everyday stuff at Aldi, and then if you need special stuff, get it somewhere else. I have nothing to complain about - the store was clean, the selection was good, and the prices were right. read more

It helps to know the rules: - Bring a quarter if you want to unlock a cart (you will get it back when you relock up the cart after shopping). - Bring your own shopping bags and/or score empty boxes throughout the store to take your stuff out. - Pay cash or by debit card. - Get through the check out line as fast as possible. - Don't expect to get ALL your grocery needs filled at Aldi. By following these rules, you will get some great deals, good products and a good experience. I have found great deals on green groceries and canned goods, weird/wonderful gimmicky stuff that are there on a "one time only" basis, and pretty pleasant shopping experience. This place is the best bang for your buck when you need to get the essentials. By cutting down on a lot of their overhead costs such as cart boys and bags, they are able to keep their prices as low as they can. Definitely stop here as part of your grocery shopping for chips, eggs, milk, cheeses, and produce. I always shop at this Aldi before going anywhere else for my big grocery purchases. This Aldi is easy to get in and out of, and their staff is always friendly and ready to assist. They have some of the best prices on groceries in town, and I don't mind bringing a quarter and my own shopping bags. My only complaint is coming to Aldi with small children. While this is certainly not the fault of the grocer, it does make it daunting trying to put her in the car, then return my cart or carry her on the way back from returning my cart. Ugh. First world-problems. The only thing I stay away from here is their nacho cheese "Doritos". Definitely the real thing is much, much better. read more

Excellent prices and clean location! I hope to come back here for all my staple grocery needs. I went for the first time so I felt really stupid when I handed my cashier my reusable bags thinking that she would pack my groceries for me. That's not how it works at Aldi! For the sake of low prices, you bring your own bags (or request boxes if they're available) and there's a counter for where you bag your own groceries. That's actually very nice. I don't mind packing my own groceries at all so long as they keep the prices low. The only thing that was a bit of a minus is they don't carry any fresh herbs, not even parsley. Ah well, when it comes to the bare essentials of groceries, I guess fresh herbs don't make the cut. Oh, and they only accept debit and make sure you have a quarter handy when grabbing a cart (they'll give it back when you return the cart). read more

The only reason I'm not giving Aldi 5 stars is because I don't do the bulk of my shopping at the store and probably never will. It is great for certain things though. I have found their EVOO at $3.69 for a pretty big bottle to be a steal. Their brand of Vanilla Almond Special K tastes the same to me and it's half the price. Their trail mix comes in a huge bag for $3.69 and you can't find that anywhere and it's just as good as any other brand. I have also enjoyed their salmon and tilapia and at $3.99 each you've got yourself a bargain. To be fair, I found their ground beef to be tough and the marinated turkey breast was rubbery. I'll stick to Whole Foods for meats and produce for sure. But for basics like tortilla chips at .99 cents for a huge bag why not? I think some people here are missing the concept of what the store is. It's a no frills joint that sells private label products (not generic) in order to offer low prices. I would imagine a large family could save a lot of money here. If you buy Tom Thumb, Kroger, or Albertson's private label brands why not Aldi? Milk is milk...why pay almost 4 bucks for a gallon when you can get it here for under 2 dollars? Like I said before, some things are hit and miss here. I hope more reviewers share products they've purchased and liked and/or disliked. Lastly, if you plan on shopping for a lot of items bring a quarter for a cart. You have to put a quarter in a box installed on the cart to unlock it. When you return the cart your quarter is returned to you. It's actually cool to not have to contend with carts left in the parking lot. I wish all stores would implement this system. Not 1 cart is in the lot....ever. And when carts cost upwards of $250.00 each for the store this is how they pass on the savings to us. Also, bring your own bags to avoid being charged for paper (.06) or plastic (.10). Have an open mind and enjoy this store. It's something the metroplex has needed for a long time. I've always thought groceries here cost so much more than where I'm from and I've never understood why? For me, this store is a win! read more

I spend about half as much here as I do at other Dallas grocery stores. You do not have to skimp on quality of food by shopping here, just be aware the layout and process is a little different than a typical grocery store (need a quarter for a shopping cart, but you get it back; you bag your own groceries in the bags you brought from home; the majority of products are ALDI brand, some will taste the same as name brand and some won't but all are still good). Yep, I like this place a WHOLE lot. The store is nice and clean and you won't wait in line any more than 3 or so minutes. While all of their brands are 'off brand' almost everything I have tried has been good. I don't care much for their Alfredo sauce, but .99 eggs makes up for it. Their fruit and vegetables aren't all that great either. But everything else is just like any other food. Ever since I have found Aldi, my grocery bill has gone down by 1/2. This aldi location seems a little bigger than its sister location on Gaston, but carries all of the same things so far as I can tell. Bring your own bag and a quarter to use a cart - you'll get it back. I wish they had more cashiers when the lines get long, but usually they open a second one if folks are milling about by the front and someone notices. There are always an assortment of special items in the back by the cheese/lunch meat as well as in the freezer cases between the meat and fruit displays. Soemtimes it's a brie in a pastry shell, sometimes a frozen peking duck. I got a bag of sea scallops (frozen) for $10, a much cheaper price than I've seen anywhere else. Love that the parking lots are always laid out so that no matter where you park, you're close to the entrance/exit to the store. read more

Saturday I came in to buy some essential, as I was getting in the long line I went to the the 2nd cashier Named Ann, Amanda or Amy I can't remember, As I was getting behind everyone the cashier decided to closed the line with 5 people already waiting behind it. This made the woman in front of me upset. So we just casually went to the other line. Their was a black man, then a black woman, a Hispanic man with his son and a older white woman with her husband, then me. Sorry I am every observant, As we started to move to the first lane the lady in front of me was complaining about the lane closing. And instead of apologizing the cashier decided to argue back. So now the new line is like 10+ people. So then for some reason she decides to reopen her lane again, probably because it was a long line. As she decided to do so she called a group of new people behind me to come to her lane and they got to checkout before we did. This made the woman in front of me super upset by this point and went off on her. Again the cashier did not handle the situation professionally. I originally was just a spectator and really didn't care because I wasn't in a hurry. But when I jumped back to the 2nd lane I over herd her Lying about the situation to one of the new customers. This is when I got upset and spoke up. She said and I quote "we only have two lanes open when there is 3 or more customers inline" this is her reason for closing the lane. So I said "but there was 5 in your lane and 5 in the other" then she replied "no there was not" at this point I laughed cause she was clearly lying or ignorant. Why would 5 people who don't know each other lie about something that small. And all be upset with Her at the same time for no reason? I just wanted to check out and leave. So I was next and the other cashier came up to her and asked if she was alright as if I was attacking her wtf. Then she told her she did right. Lol I laughed so hard, I am only posting this cause the situation made no sense and she was clearly in the wrong and never apologized to the two women that were clearly upset. This Aldi is the cleanest grocery store I've shopped at in a while and EVERY person we encountered was friendly. Especially the cashier, Carrie. I often go to target and walmart for my main shopping but always come to Aldi for their fruit. Their produce is always fresh and maintined. Usually I have to search hard for fresh fruit at other stores. At ALDI I have to search hard for the produce that is going bad. 5 stars read more

My husband and I switched to Aldi about a year ago. In my experience, Aldis can be pretty unpredictable. Some are well stocked, and others... not so much. We can usually find everything we need here. The only things we don't buy are meat and produce (their meat is a little too fatty for our taste). The lines may look long, but the employees check everyone out very fast, keeping the line moving quickly. My only complaint is the size of the building. Shoppers are typically in their own world while grocery shopping, so when they stop in the middle of the very narrow aisle, you're stuck waiting for them. I wouldn't call shopping here a "pleasant" experience, but if you're trying to cut your grocery bill in half, this is the place to be! read more
