It was a dark and stormy Saturday afternoon..... ....When, what to our wondering eyes should appear? .....Rain coming through the back bedroom window and occasional water drops through the ceiling. We wasted no time filing a claim and calling 3 different roofers that folks had recommended. Tom Goldson Roofing was the only contractor that responded (the next business day) and quickly diagnosed the issue, as we learned that this is a common roof issue within the Genoa Lakes subdivision. Even the USAA contracted adjuster knew this roofer and offered high praises. The proposed fix was modest, the cost was reasonable, and they were able to fit us in within a couple days and before the next big rain. We were also under our deductible, but we were happy to pay anyway. The work was detailed, professional, and as evaluated. The scope was in one of our 2 roof "valleys" that can accumulate snow, offer poor drainage, and eventually enter into the house. The next rain seemed to fix the drainage issue, for at least the time we may need to replace the roof or deal with a second valley issue. read more

Even though we were on a long waiting list, we were also put on a list of people that were done on short notice if someone cancelled. We actually got our roof done a little quicker because of that. The materials used are the best on the market. The workmen showed up early in the morning, worked efficiently and were very polite. They kept everything protected on the ground and kept tools rounded up at night. They also cleaned up very well after each day's work. I have never used any roofers in this area so it is hard to compare this company against others. The only real negative thing was that it took almost a year to get the roof done from the time I signed the contract and put down the deposit. I was told of the timing up front so it wasn't a surprise but would have liked to get it done sooner. They did my house in three days which included one day of just delivering the materials. Tom Goldston Roofing just completed the re-roofing job on our home. They removed all the old asphalt roofing material then replaced it with something similar. They added a drip edge along the perimeter and much needed vents. Their employees were very professional and hardworking. Friday February 6, 2015 was a bad day in the Ranchos. We had, what seemed like, hurricane force winds, and my roof did not withstand the onslaught, nor did a significant number of my neighbors. Suddenly everybody needed a roofer, and the hunt began. After doing our research we contacted Tom Goldston Roofing, and Tom was able to stop by the very next day. He showed up on time and gave us an estimate promptly. As we walked the house he was able to, based on his knowledge identify the era of the roof based on the features that it had. It was, for me, like walking with an archeologist, and my sense of confidence in him went through the roof. He was patient with me, as construction is just not my thing. We talked about people that we knew in common, and, again, they were good people, thus we hired him to do the job. Now remember, this was a big storm and there were a lot of people in line in front of me, but, two weeks prior to him working on the house, he called and explained the timeline. There were storms in the area just prior to his installation date, and I was convinced that this would set back his schedule, but it did not. The material was delivered one day, and his crew arrived the next day and did the job quickly and efficiently. Heck, they even swept up after themselves, and they left no evidence that they were even here. They also patched a few other spots that were beyond the scope of the initial work and cleaned up several shingles that had the tenacity to stay on the roof but in a different location. So, if you need your roof repaired, I'd suggest that you give Tom a call, but be patient, as he's still doing jobs related to the storm in February. read more

They left a wooden pallet to cover the now bare electric and utility lines. When called about it, the company president, Denny Goldston stated that they would get on it right away.
