We stopped by Tolbert's for a quick drink and appetizers. They had a to. We were right on time for happy hour and they had a ton of beers on draft. I can't remember which one I got but it was light and good. My friends had a variety of drinks from espresso martinis to bourbon. We ordered chicken bites and fried pickles. The band came by and set up for later. Too bad we missed them. The bartenders were super nice and we actually got a table to eat our apps but didn't stay long.

Service and ambiance are what you would expect... Fred's Frito Pie is what you come for! A cold, gray, rainy day is the perfect time for a warm train ride and a chilly walk to Tolbert's where you sit down to a hearty bowl of tasty Texas chili (NO beans!) topped with cheese & Fritos. Yum!

I had to see what Texas chili was all about so I ordered Tolbert's via Uber Eats when I have landed in Dallas. I ordered a bowl of the Texas Red chili and a side Caesar. I love that the chili comes with an entire Serrano for you to cut up as you wish into your bowl. What a great way for folks to be able to make that as spicy as they like. The pepper was perfectly ripe and had good amount of spice to it. The bowl also came with chopped onions and cheddar cheese to add, in addition to saltines, of course. The chili itself is greasier than I expected it to be. It has good flavor and there is a generous amount of meat in it. Is it the best chili I have ever had? I don't think so! But, it is decent enough where I'd get it again. I would be remiss not to comment on how amazing the Caesar salad was. I really love this dressing and I wish that I had gotten a larger portion versus the side salad.

Terilingua Terlingua Burger , Mac and Cheese -- DON'T GET THE Mac and Cheese

This restaurant is on the main street of downtown Grapevine, Surrounded by so many fabulous paces to visit but those other cute stores close early! There's parking along the street out front or a small parking lot nearby. This restaurant has a country western theme. It has a huge dining room and a large bar area. They have live music some nights and we went on a night to see a certain musician play her guitar and sing, and she was fabulous! The server was fantastic! He was always checking on us and answering all our questions, our food came out in a timely manner. We started off with the torpedoes and they were really good. They were a good size, about two bites and stuffed with plenty of chicken and cheese. I got the Terilingua burger because I wanted to try the chili but also wanted to try the burger. It came in a perfect combination. The only disappointment was that they didn't have a regular burger bun, it was a brioche bun which I'm not a fan of, but luckily the burgers flavors and chili were strong enough to overtake the flavor of the sweet bread. It was a good size burger that came with three large delicious onion rings on top. I got the macaroni and cheese on the side because another reviewer said the macaroni and cheese was so good. It was vastly disappointing. The mac and cheese was powdery/gritty and lacked flavor. It was as if someone had poured sand into the cheese. It was not creamy at all. Kraft macaroni and cheese from a box would have been better than this. I returned it and got the tater tots instead, which were crispy and delicious. I also ordered a spicy margarita, which is not on the menu, it was great and extra spicy as requested. My friend ordered the Frank's Frito pie, which is a bowl of chili and a side of corn chips. She raved about how delicious the chili was. My other friend ordered the fried chicken sliders covered in a buffalo sauce. I took a bite from one of his sliders. It was good, but I'm not a fan of buffalo sauce. He got it with a side of seasoned fries that were very good and I love the flavor of the seasoning. For dessert, one of my friends ordered the Keylime pie, which definitely tasted frozen, not fresh. I had to wash the taste of it out of my mouth with Kilwins fudge & ice cream across the street. I will definitely be back for the chili or the burger! The menu items are hot & miss, if you're nearby, it's a good place to try out but wasn't worth the 40 minute drive from Dallas. The drinks were really good. They have a happy hour, but unfortunately I live too far to get here in time for that.

Was here again to listen to some music on a Sunday night. The server was a little gruff, and I ordered a cheese quesadilla and she brought it and said the kitchen made an error, and they made a chicken quesadilla, I said fine, don't re-make it, but then on the bill it was listed as a Chicken quesadilla - so I think SHE put in the order wrong (and blamed the kitchen. I think I should only have been charged for the cheese - which is what I had wanted. I will say the music was great, and -- Hot tip -- the fried Zucchini is FIRE!!

Ok, Grapevine! Yes, you better keep shining Tolbert's! Yes, honey with that burger! I would have to say- best burger I've had in a minute- juicy, smoky, succulent and savory! Yes! Fresh and fantastic! Slow clap- love! Oh yes. Great service- nice entertainment. Love the vibe! Pickle chips- go ahead! Crunch! Forgot to take a picture of my burger- cool, so sorry. Just believe me- go get it! Two hander for sure- heavy lifting required! So good.

Tolbert's is the perfect place to place to.spend the evening for great service, food and live music in Grapevine!

friend & i were in grapevine for business and yelp helped me find this AWESOME dinner spot! live band was bad company tribute band and they were great! that was a nice bonus! we were seated near the door, aways from the band, but we could still chat while enjoying the band. the bar was FULL & people kept up a steady stream of keeping it full. i decided on the burger and onion rings and that turned out to be a great choice! burger was BIG - juicy & tasty. bun was top notch too. i had to unhinge my jaw to take a bite! half was PLENTY! orings were great, fat - not my personal preference - but the breading was good & onions were cooked through - so you could take a bite without playing tug of war with the onion. friend had chicken fried steak & said it was very good. i did order a drink - a rarity for me, but the ingredients appealed - i like fruity drinks with rum. i was charged a higher price ($9) versus the $7 shown on the menu, but didnt notice til later. service was top notch, the hostess checked on us, refilling drinks in between visits from the waiter. overall a great dinner at very reasonable prices with live music too boot!

The outdoor patio where they had a live band would have been a good place to sit, but that 100° heat is a little much for this Minnesota blood. Started off with a smoked old fashioned and that hit the spot. Dinner was a pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries. The sandwich was a bit on the disappointing side as the meat seemed a bit on the older side, and very little BBQ sauce. Our waiter was AMAZING, but he was soooooo busy with large groups I didn't trouble him for a side of BBQ. However, the bread pudding totally made up for the sandwich. That was a delicious way to end the experience. I'm sure we'll be back next time I'm at DFW.

(Well... maybe luck had a little something to do with it. ) As soon as we walked through the doors, we were warmly greeted by Ms. Jenna, our hostess. She welcomed us with a beautiful smile, was very polite and kind, and escorted us to a booth in Ms. Destinee's section. While we were there, we also had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Corin, the General Manager. He was full of energy, very welcoming, and genuinely seemed excited to have us there. It didn't take long to notice that his positive attitude had rubbed off on his staff. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and worked together as a team. That speaks volumes about his leadership. Luckily for us, we had just missed the lunch rush, so we were seated immediately without any wait. The restaurant itself was very clean, well organized, and had a warm, inviting atmosphere. They also offer an outdoor dining area that was just as clean and well maintained as the inside. Ms. Destinee, our server, was wonderful. She was polite, welcoming, explained the menu, and gave us plenty of time to look everything over while bringing us glasses of water. To start, we ordered the Ranch Rings (onion rings) from the shareable menu for $13.75. They arrived hot, crispy, evenly battered, and perfectly seasoned. My only complaint was the cilantro, which just isn't my favorite. For our entrées, we all ordered from the "Perfect Pair" menu. My daughter chose the BLT sandwich with the Killer Mac & Cheese for $14.95. She absolutely loved it! The bread was nicely toasted, the sandwich was well seasoned, and the mac and cheese definitely lived up to its name. We also ordered the Salmon Club Sandwich with a Caesar salad for $14.95. The salmon was delicious, and the Caesar salad was fresh and flavorful. I went with the Crispy Chicken Sandwich paired with a cup of their Tortilla Chicken Soup for $14.95. The chicken was crispy, juicy, and seasoned just right. As for the soup... it was so good I honestly wished I had ordered another cup! Overall, this was an outstanding dining experience from beginning to end. Great food, excellent service, and an amazing atmosphere. Mr. Corin is doing an exceptional job, and his staff is a true reflection of his leadership. Without a doubt, I'll be coming back again. I hope to see y'all there!

It was a great way to kick off our lunch. It just hit lunch time, so the restaurant wasn't too busy and we decided to take a seat at the bar for our meal. The restuarant is beautiful, great decor, very bright yet great seating for small or large parties. It looked like there was private dining also available! As we perused the menu, we were greeted promptly by our bartender, who's name is slipping my mind, he was such a sweet guy! He gave us some excellent food and drink recommendations. The one drink I went with that he recommended was their 21-day pineapple infused vodka martini. Shaken beautifully and poured into an ice cold martini glass and dressed with a fresh pineapple wedge. It was nice, crisp, cold, and delightfully fresh! For the food, I was originally thinking a burger, bc it's a smokehouse, and that's what they specialize in, over the fire cooking, but his recommendation on the Hot Honey Chicken sandwich sounded too good to pass up, and in fact, had a missed it, I'd be missing out!!! The sandwich was huge, and after the camera eating first, I took my first big bite, and it was so flavorful. The chicken was hot, crunchy, sweet, with a little spice, crisp pickles, cheese melted as I took each bite. Just a great burst of flavors. The fries I liked very much, and now thinking back on it, should've ordered a side of the sauce they had on the sandwich to dip those fries in. My sister order the 1/2 ribs, which she says were really good, along with a side of au gratin potatoes, that looked like they came from someone's moms kitchen! She left nothing on that plate!!! This was a great first impression of the restuarant, and I look forward to trying them again, something that can be kissed by that flame!

She gave us plenty of time to look over the menu and was friendly, attentive, and very courteous throughout our meal. The chips and salsa were very good. My only suggestion would be to offer a salsa without cilantro for those who prefer it. We ordered the Create Your Own Combo Plate, which included a chicken flauta, a crispy taco, rice, and refried beans topped with cheese for $15.50. The taco was perfectly crispy and well seasoned, while the chicken flauta was covered in a flavorful red chile sauce that had just the right amount of heat. The rice and refried beans were seasoned perfectly and complemented the meal well. We also ordered the chimichanga, smothered in cheese sauce and served with rice and refried beans, for $16.00. It was well seasoned, delicious, and satisfying. The flavors weren't overpowering--they were balanced and enjoyable, making it a dish I would gladly order again. The portions are also huge Our server was wonderful from start to finish. He was friendly, attentive, and checked on us often without being overbearing. The service was honestly the best part of the experience. We started with the Sichuan calamari, and this was easily the highlight of the meal. It was perfectly crispy, the glaze had just the right amount of sweetness and heat, and the seasoning gave it a nice kick without overpowering the calamari. It was one of the best calamari dishes I've had and definitely raised my expectations for everything that followed. Next was the tenderloin bruschetta, and unfortunately this one just didn't work for me. The flavors didn't come together, and it was much saltier than it needed to be. It felt like there were too many things happening on the plate without much balance. I wouldn't order it again. For the entrées, the Chilean Sea Bass was very good. The fish was flaky and cooked well, the risotto was creamy, and the sauce brought everything together without being too heavy. It was one of the stronger dishes we ordered. The lobster stuffed ravioli was another solid choice. The filling was generous, there was plenty of lobster on top, and the vodka sauce complemented everything nicely without taking over. It was rich but still well balanced. We also tried the New Zealand rack of lamb. This one had mixed reviews at our table. It wasn't as tender as I was hoping, but I didn't dislike it and again I didn't love it! The blackened exterior and the wine reduction gave it good flavor, but it just wasn't particularly memorable. My favorite entrée ended up being the tomahawk pork chop. The pork itself was juicy, flavorful, and cooked really well. I wasn't a huge fan of the pineapple bourbon glaze since I didn't think it added much to the dish, but the quality of the meat made up for it. We also had the strawberry spinach salad, which was fresh and a nice lighter option alongside all the richer dishes. Then there was also a side dish with green beans and almond and again no complains there. Overall, I left feeling a little conflicted. The service was outstanding, the atmosphere was great, and the portions were very generous. The food itself was a mix of really good dishes and others that completely missed the mark. After such an incredible start with the calamari, I expected the rest of the meal to be on the same level, but it just never got there. I'm glad we tried it, but I don't think it's a place I'd rush back to.
