    Chicken karaage donburi

Not a bad place to get your ramen fix. Service is quick and courteous, interior is clean, and the food is generally good. I had the tonkatsu ramen: the broth was serviceable though a little on the thin side, the other toppings were pretty standard (good boiled egg though - yolk was not too runny and not too hard), noodles were okay - but a shout-out to the char siu. Soft and succulent, nicely seared, these heavenly pork slices were outstanding! One of my daughters had the shoyu ramen and also found it a little thin flavor-wise, but thought the toppings were good. My other daughter had their chicken karaage rice bowl which she said was very good. My wife had the vegetarian ramen and enjoyed it (and also very happy that they offer such an option); she liked the mild miso broth and the nice spicy finish from the chili oil. So overall, a decent spot for ramen - just would like to see the broths be a bit more assertive.

We stopped here after being absolutely drained from doing a full move in to dorm on a humid hot day and this ramen place just seemed to appear from the back of the Storrs plaza. Everyone was happily pleased and extremely filled with their ramen bowls, the vegetarian bowl had a hint of miso in the broth which made the tofu blend perfectly and hold moisture. The tonkotsu bowls were incredible with the pork that was tender and sweet enough while also having that signature light char. Perfect lunch or dinner spot, I know the college students keep this one busy!

Love the owner - she memorizes your order, checks in just enough, is a HUMAN BEING. Love the ambiance. Love the food. Pork samiches are the best. Solid gyoza and (albeit greasy-ish) ramen. Dope pork ribs. Never have ramune :( great veggie / vegan place. Cozy seating, and have to watch for loud people behind you who DONT BELIEVE IN CLIMATE CHANGE AND SHOW ME THE PROOF AND... no one cares ;) Food wins. Owner seals the deal. You're in UConn, so YMMV. Its an effort to not be here on a weekly basis

We were looking for a ramen place on a cold night, and this fit the bill! Both bowls of ramen were warm and delicious. I had the vegetarian, which had fried tofu in it...the only downside (to me; others may not mind fried). I would have preferred non-fried or none at all and just more veggies. The service was quick and friendly. If you're near UCONN and in the mood for ramen, give it a try!

Very good fresh made noodles with tasty soup. The spicy miso ramen had ground beef that tasted like mabo tofu spices - unusual for a ramen but pleasantly combined with the sweet corn and peas. The vegetarian steamed dumplings had fresh dumpling skins and crunchy filling. Highly recommend.

I'm primarily happy with this place because I can get what they claim to be bone broth. I think they even said they use chicken feet. The ramen I got was less than stellar. Almost none of the "beef" was meat- mostly all fat and wasn't worth all the pulling apart with my fingers so gave it to someone's dog (she said he would love it ). The scallion pancake I don't think could have had any more oil in it. Could have wrung it out like a dishrag. Was yummy though. The guy taking the order was pleasant. And they did get correctly my not wanting egg and one other thing I think and making the substitutions at no charge. I had takeout and was watching birdbox so while I was eating slow I did feel it cooled off quite rapidly to very cold even though it started off quite hot. The scallion pancake was too hot to handle even. Will probably go back to acquire broth. Probably not the full ramen as it has minimal flavor and seems a bunch of carbs for not much nutrition. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

We came here last night after spying the name on the plaza sign and I'm glad we did! I lived in NYC for a bunch of years so I'm well versed in ramen and was excited to see this place, since our here it's a rarity. Cozy little seating area, sat quickly and had someone take our drink orders straightaway. There were probably 10 other people dining when we sat, so the quick service was well noted/appreciated. Drinks cake just as quickly and we ordered the scallion pancake, the torishio ramen, and the tonkotsu ramen. Scallion pancake was out in 5 mins and was delicious, if a little greasy. Ramen was out maybe 10 minutes after that. Husband said his was perfect and he ate the entire thing. Mine (chicken) was also excellent. I will note that they were both not seasoned so if you want spicy you will need to add in. (Hot sauce is on the table!) I personally prefer it that way so you can decide your level rather than just hoping for something. (Just to note, spoons and chopsticks are self serve on the table as well.) Everything was cleared quickly/cheque dealt with in a timely manner. They did let us know there is a 10% discount for cash, so I hope they keep that perk. Long story short, definitely give this place a try! We will be back.

Food: Solid ramen with a nice presentation. The meat is not always amazingly cooked, but it is still enjoyable. Other indgredients and toppings are app good, including the noodles. The broth sometimes is not as flavorful as I would like, but this is a matter of taste. I do find it sufficiently rich. Atmosphere: A casual interior with sauces at the table for you to doctor your ramen with. relatively spartan decour, with some photos of the food on the wall. Service: The one man working the front end is very attentive, keeping your water full. The food comes out in around 10 minutes. In all the times I have been (3) there has never been more then 5 other people there, so I am not sure if any of this would change with a rush. Value: Good ramen for between $10-$15, a fine value.

    It was that good.

I am so excited to have a ramen place close to the Northeast corner of CT! And they are GOOD! I had the Shoyu Ramen and the pork belly was fall apart tender, with delicious rings of fat throughout. The noodles were firm and just perfectly chewy. If I had any suggestions it would be to season the broth a little more aggressively, as it is very mild (which some would probably prefer) and to warm up the egg enough so that the center is not cold. Highly recommend! Service is fast and polite. A bit expensive but not surprising in the location. Worth the trip!

    Chashu Don Chashu Don

My favorite place to eat, I get a pork belly rice bowl called Chashu Don. Best meal I've ever had, pretty big portions filled with a delicious combination of food. Averagely fast cool time when I get it to-go, Very friendly at the front counter too!

    Tonkotsu Ramen

Definitely one of the best ramen spots I've been to. I ordered a Tonkotsu ramen and the pork belly was charred to perfection. My friend had the Shoyu ramen. His broth was good but I thought the Tonkotsu broth was better. I will be visiting more often. I love the service there.

    Shoyu Ramen

I was really impressed by the freshness of the noodles the lightness of the shoyu broth and the texture of the pork. I also sampled the miso ramen which is delightfully spicy. Will definitely come back.

Excellent service, delicious food! All of the ramen is just as good as what I had in Japan. Their gyoza are my favorite ever!

I simply cannot imagine ordering anything other than their Curry Ramen bowl from this point forward. Like one would legitimately be insane not to get it, provided you are an average fan of standard Thai-style curries like Red, Panang, or even Las Vegas style Three-color (Red+Green+Yellow). My suggested mod: Ask for your home-crafted noodles a little extra "QQ" or chewy al dente. And ask for a side of their home-made chili oil to step up the Szechuan influence. Normally I shun the fusion or "new-style" menu items, but this Curry Ramen bowl is stuff of dreams. Perfectly executed, temperature hot, unforgettably umami, and the exact drinkable curry broth viscosity that is no accident. This bowl is a champion, folks!

The space itself is clean and modern. I appreciated being able to see the kitchen area and the bar setup; everything looked organized and well run. The booth seating was comfortable, and overall it felt like a great spot for a casual lunch or relaxed dinner. Definitely a place I'd come back to.

We…read morestopped into a new ramen shop near my alma mater, and I've got to say: where was this twenty years ago? (I know where. The strip mall that was here was either condemned or nonexistent. I forget which.) Being CCSU s spring break, there wasn't much going on. That is, we saw a few pickups and DoorDash orders, but we had the full restaurant to ourselves. The waitress was quick, but the to-go orders left us waiting (totally normal, not a complaint.) First, the good: the ramen is a sizable portion. You can tell it's all made from scratch. It's not the saltiest thing you'll ever eat. The spicy is actually spicy, if you mix in all the chili paste they leave resting on the fish cake. I grabbed my chopsticks and dug in, and I was glad I got the $3.50 milk tea on the side (you get it for cheap with a bowl), though I found it very sweet. The pork in my ramen was crispy on the sliver of crust, and the rest was cooked to perfection. Many other places can do it like that, but if they'd messed that up, they'd lose some points. The bad is a very short list. Our ramen had vermicelli or angel hair instead of, you know, ramen noodles. Maybe that's their thing? All in all, a soup place next to the up-the-hill dorms is just what I needed decades ago. I'm rarely up that way these days, but I'd totally stop here even in the summer.

Driving into the plaza...the sidewalk is a bit lifted from the road, so expect it to be a bit bumpy coming in and out of the lot. Walking inside it was a cutely decorated shop with Anime themed wall art. There was a good amount of seating in this small shop as well. We sat down and ordered the iron man roll, so ramen roll, house ramen and Shabu Shabu beef ramen. It took about 20-39 mins for the food to come out but I believe there is just one cook working. The rolls were delicious and I really like their So Ramen roll. It was creamy and crunchy. My house ramen was also really good and I enjoyed it. My fiancé thought his ramen was a bit bland. But that might just be his opinion on ramen overall. Each item runs about $14 to $20 each. So a meal for 2 can run you about at minimum $40. Overall we enjoyed our time here and would come back.
