It honestly could have been better. I've been to tastier places that are cheaper than this place. The employees are extremely nice which explains I gave them a 2-stars. When it comes to the food, it was bland (and I don't typically use that word). The fried rice was so salty and made with frozen vegetables, the meat wasn't marinated long enough, and the broccoli was so hard it was like chewing rocks. The only thing good that came out of it was the mushrooms and a nice to-go tupperware you can reuse. It's not worth the price, you can get tastier habachi elsewhere.

    sushi with wasabi

Hey! There was wasabi on my food. I made a note about the allergy and it's even printed on my receipt. I cannot eat my meal now as it had come in contact with a life threatening allergen. I am very disappointed. I called the store for an opportunity for them to make it up and the overseas agent told me the phone line was out. The manager called me from his personal phone only to tell me hold on and hang up. Never called back. I've eaten here before and the food was decent but the service is terrible as there is no attention to detail and no care for the customer.

    Shrimp Shumai

Im from California and was craving Asian good and since this was near I decided to try it out. First off Customer Service was not all that great. I told the lady it was my first time and she didn't recommend anything nor tell me how to order. I basically had to order blindly. Next was the food. I ordered Shumai thinking it would be authentic. The girl did tell me it wasn't handmade by them but I got it anyway. Avoid it like the plague. It was nasty and although it was filled with shrimp, it tasted like a woman hadn't showered in months. The smell and taste . We ordered the Steak and Shrimp which came with rice and broccoli. The shrimp was delicious. You get a handful of large shrimp. The steak was dry but it came with a side of Yum Yum sauce so I drowned it to help it wash down. The rice? I would avoid the rice. Please avoid the rice. We also ordered the Chicken Lo Mein which was delicious but VERY greasy. All in all there were a lot of people who ordered to go. I don't get it but maybe they know to order something better than I got. Would I go there again? Only if I was starving and hadn't eaten in a month and everything else was closed.

Ordered the miso soup, which was a nice size portion. There was plenty of tofu, and greens in the soup. Had a nice flavor, served warm to almost hot perfect where you could actually eat it and not burn your tongue. 7 out of 10 Beautiful, very lovely sushi, see photo. There was a nice size portion, the taste was delightful. The rice was cooked to perfection. 7 put of 10 Restaurant is very clean. Staff is friendly. 8 out of 10 I personally feel the best time to come into the restaurant is between three and five. It's not as busy. The food is still fresh and delicious. I rate the atmosphere 7. out of 10. The restaurant is right next to the gas station. Don't let that fool you this is a great little hole in the wall to visit, talk with the staff. Yes, there is a language barrier to a degree but they're so friendly and nice to take a minute how are you doing? I took the time to talk with the owner of the restaurant, I personally feel getting to know your local restaurant owners and staff is a good thing. It'll make your dining experience better. Zew, started creating sushi and cooking Japanese food back in 2001, Mr. Sushi opened in 2017, there was not very many sushi restaurants in the Asheville then. There's been many sushi restaurants come and go since then. There are Sushi/ Japanese/Hibachi restaurants in the area, however this one is truly a wonderful restaurant to visit it's quaint and down to earth-place, this is why I highly recommend this restaurant this is restaurant. with great personality. Zew is. Owners he is a delight to talk with, you see the passion in his face when he's talking about his food that he's created the original rolls that he makes. I recommend trying the Rangoon roll. There's no fish in it. It's there's imitation crab. It's a wonderful thing that he is doing here and he has truly traditional Japanese fried noodles. Which is very much a difference between the Chinese way of cooking the noodles. As much as I'd like to give five stars I cannot because I rarely give five stars. I love this place. I would return to this place and I hope that you will come to this place too and enjoy wonderful sushi and a little a hole in the wall from somebody that has compassion for the food he creates.

We saw that they were booked for the entire weekend, so we figured we'd try our luck the next night around 5 PM. Luckily, we were able to get seated right away outside! We opted for the chef's menu, which includes several pre-planned courses and is a great way to try a variety of things. There was definitely A LOT of mushroom throughout the tasting, which was a little tough for me since I don't love mushrooms. I'll eat a little, but it was surprising how frequently they were incorporated into the courses. That said, there were some definite standouts. My favorites were the wagyu appetizer, which they said is exclusive to the tasting menu, all of the raw dishes, and the pastrami brisket. And honorable mention to the desserts -- they were seriously to die for! I just wish I had more room to eat more. Our server was attentive without being overbearing, and it was such a lovely evening sitting outside in the warm weather next to the aesthetic fireplace. The pacing of the tasting menu was a little odd at times, but it ultimately worked. Best bite of the night though was the pastrami brisket with the pickled kimchi, sesame bbq sauce, pickle, a little salt, and a little wasabi...will be dreaming of this!! I definitely want to come back and try more from the regular menu. There were a lot of things that sounded amazing, and I think I'd enjoy being able to pick and choose the dishes myself!

We had made a reservation previously and were sat immediately when we arrived. From beginning to end, everything was absolutely fantastic. I started with the sake flight and my husband had the whiskey flight. For our meals, we decided to do the tasting meal so we would have a variety of foods. Both the drinks and food were beyond exceptional. I couldn't tell you my favorite dish because everything was just so good. Even though the portions were small, by the time we left, we were absolutely stuffed. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone wanting to celebrate something special, or want a great experience. I'm definitely going to tell friends and family they should visit as well.
