Our go to sushi for take out. The sushi is always consistently delicious. The rice ratio is perfect. We went in for lunch. The servers are friendly and service is great despite it being a busy day. I ordered the pad Thai, I would have preferred more shade and more fish sauce. However that is a personal preference that might be for everyone. Nonetheless it was delicious. The place is clean and we will be back.

I tried to love the food and tried a variety of items! I couldn't eat any of it. The smell threw me off from the beginning. Staff very friendly !

Fresh & full of great flavors! Service was prompt and efficient. All my requests were accommodated and enjoyed each and every bite. Started with Tom Yum Goong soup. Delicious with veggies and shrimp. Next was my sushi roll. Had a touch decision as Tokyo Cafe was one of the few sushi places that will use my preferred brown rice in roll. The other option was the Out of Control roll which included my favorites of tuna, salmon yellowtail, avocado, and a bonus lobster salad with no rice, just a rice paper binding. Opted for the latter, and was not disappointed. I also selected the seafood, udon entrée, and some warm saki as my drink. Had the fried cheesecake for dessert - lightly battered and preserved the integrity of pure cheesecake. Everything was delicious and beyond expectation. The presentation was immaculate, and all reviews were accurate. Do not let the location of a semi strip mall anchored with a Publix supermarket fool you. The service and pride in presentation to many other pricier sushi restaurants. The addition of Thai food made the menu selections, very difficult, and look forward to trying the items I did not get during this visit.

It was okay. We were traveling & stopped to eat. The sushi we tried was good. It's in a shopping plaza.

So I got that. And the curry was the Panag. Nice, a bit thick so it would stick to the rice. It took me longer to look at the menu than it took to get my food. They were quick. The place was full and very busy. Even so, the service was quick. Everyone was checking on the customers. Very attentive. The place was nicely lit. They had a TV. Nice place. The food was awesome. The taste was better than expected. I got medium heat and that was plenty. I also got some chili paste j.i.c. I did use a little. You have a great place here. I will definitely be back, next time I'm in town. Highly recommend this place. You won't be sorry.

We stepped into the restaurant the first thing we noticed is it's dimly lit. We waited a few moments before a server came over , she then took us to a booth. The seating wasn't that comfortable. We were given water very quickly. Then a server came to take our order. We had not had time to look at the menu so asked her to come back. Then another server came and asked if we wanted different drinks instead of water. We declined. The first server came back again so we ordered our Appetizers. We both decided on soup. My husband had Lemongrass and chicken and I had the coconut chicken with mushrooms. Yet another server came to take our Entree order. The soup arrived and it was very hot and tasty. The only down side was the chicken in the soup was overcooked and chewy. We were then given Spring rolls and dip. They were hot and crunchy. Our Entrees arrived before we finished the rolls. We both ordered our meals as a medium spice which is pretty spicy so be careful when ordering. Overall the food was good. Service was a little confusing as they all seemed to serve you! I did use the bathroom which again is dimly lit but you could see it was dirty and the floors need a good clean as they are black in some areas and very sticky. Noise level was ok even though the restaurant was busy and music was be played.

None of the spaces are marked but it's not difficult to figure out where to park. Since the lot is gravel, be aware if you have mobility issues. You can park near the entrance but not adjacent to the building so there will be at least a short walk to the door. There is also a small step up to the porch in front of the door. The pickup window is next to the entrance door which is a nice touch as the interior is small and would certainly get crowded if to go orders had to wait inside. The interior is small with table seating for about 20. There is also a small outside patio for warmer weather dining. There are several windows allowing you to look over the very near river. We got there shortly before they opened and were seated within a minute of entering. We got a nice corner table next to the river. Our servers were very pleasant. They went over the menu and specials and were very patient answering any questions. One thing to note is they do not allow substitutions, so read the menu description carefully to be sure you know what you are ordering. We wound up ordering their daily specials. Unfortunately, I forgot to take note of what they were called. One was a curry and the other included short ribs and soup. We also ordered spring rolls. The spring rolls were brought to the table in about 10 minutes. They were hot and crunchy and excellent. The dipping sauce was a touch spicy and really brought out the flavor of the spring rolls. The main dishes were brought out after about another 15 minutes. The curry dish was outstanding. The meat was tender and seasoned very well. There was a slight overall spiciness to the dish, but it quickly settled into a warm glow that simply begged for another bite. The short ribs and soup special were also outstanding. The ribs were cooked perfectly with the meat falling off the bone. The soup was flavorful and the ingredients fresh. We ate until we were stuffed and then ate a little more. We simply could not finish everything and took the last bit with us, and it was just as good reheated the next day. We also decided to take a mango and coconut milk dessert to go for later in the evening. This was a wonderful finish to a great meal. The mango was fresh and flavorful. The coconut milk and sticky rice made for a great taste texture. For such an unassuming building the dining experience would rival that of any big city. The fact it is located in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina allows it to offer an experience unrivaled by any better known restaurant. If you are anywhere near Sylva, you own it to yourself to partake of a meal at Dalaya.

I always try to give a restaurant at least twice before leaving a less than stellar review. Well…read morenow I've tried them a couple of times and I'm still not impressed. The food is okay, not great. The service a bit of a mess, the ambiance is okay. Our table ordered Drunken Noodle which was good, red curry and green curry. We also had a coconut soup and an order of baby egg rolls. My favorite part of the meal was the baby egg rolls and that's kinda sad. My companions ordered Thai teas and I got sweet tea which my tea was fine. Hubby's drunken noodle was actually pretty good. My green curry (with tofu) was fine but the rice was mushy. We also got a mango sticky rice for dessert but it seemed the rice was leftover from yesterday maybe. I wish I had better remarks but again, this is not my first visit and I had similar complaints the first time. As far as service, the servers were nice enough and I think for the volume of patrons they were doing okay but it still was a bit of a mess. They were doubling the work trying to cover all tables when maybe they should've had separate sections. I think that would've quelled some of the overlap like both servers working to refill my tea and by the time one had, the other was coming with the pitcher. This next part is the fault of the kitchen. I watched table after table get served their dishes scattered, where one person would get theirs while the others at the table were waiting for theirs to come. Some would wait for the others to be served but some would go ahead and start eating ahead of their party. This happened the last time I was there as well. That needs to be tightened up. Personally, I wouldn't go back. The experience was a bit of a drag. We regretted ordering dessert as it took so long to come and we were antsy to get out of there by the time it came. The food was good enough but it could've been so much better and the service stayed afloat but certainly could be better.

No worries, the Staff at Thai Spice were very helpful in recommending dishes that we might enjoy. We absolutely loved the food. If I am feeling ill I get the Tom Kai Soup, I may not spelling it correctly but not sure, I always feel better, the ginger, mushrooms, you can have meat added or not, this goes for most all of the dishes.
