Our favorites: crab Rangoon app - hot crispy very tasty! Salads with ginger dressing crunchy nice and cold, lettuce, tomato, cucumber included. I had hibachi shrimp and filet, cooked medium rare as requested. Lots of fresh veggies included as was fried rice I especially like the zucchini slices. Been looking for some good sushi around Greenville area for a while. Today we thought we would try Tokyo Cafe. We kind of go by reviews. Some reviews you just take with a grain of salt. We are a party of 2. We ordered iced tea to drink. Had an order of seaweed salad, Hot mushroom soup, shrimp tempura roll, spider roll and the coconut shrimp roll. Everything was really good and fresh. I do NOT like places where they cook the shrimp or soft shell ahead. This was cooked just for us. My husband does not like sashimi so we didn't order any, so can't comment on them. The portions were large. The presentation was really NICE! I LOVE a restaurant that puts some love in their food. It just make the experience a little more nicer! Probably next time we would stick to 2 rolls and I'll probably or some sashimi for myself. Or bill came to $49 without tip which I thought was a really good price. So far, this is our go to place for sushi. Still want to try a few others to see. read more

We eat well while travelling and this restaurant was no exception to the Yelpers recomendation. I will say that good Japanese food can be pricey and this place was no exception. Came in alone on the recommendation of a colleague. I work in restaurant management and love sushi, so naturally I consider my opinion relevant. This place exceeded expectations. While located in a grocery store shopping center, I forgot that upon entering, as the atmosphere inside is very classy and professional, as was the service staff. The food was outstanding. I am partial to Sushi Masa for Eastside Greenville sushi, but this place may be able to take that #1 spot with a few more visits. Chef's choice sashimi appetizer was 7 large pieces of tuna, scallops, and salmon. Excellent. The scallops were among the best I have ever had. I ordered 2 chef's special rolls, which were larger than I'm used to and delicious. No points lost on presentation of either plate, beautiful food coming from these sushi chefs, who are visible from the restaurant floor and only validate the authenticity of the place. Watched one of the chefs prepare a special request for a guest during my meal, and he personally came out to see how they enjoyed it. Clever chef's special roll names, and the menu was impressive in thoughtfulness and variety without extensive volume. The wine list is a little short, but then that isn't surprising at a Japanese restaurant anyway. Sake list covers decent ground. While a little pricey, I found it to be commensurate with the value of service and food received. read more

Hibachi steak is wonderful, steak cooked perfect medium...my only complaint is either increase the portion size or lower the price, but it tastes great. I'm new to the Greenville area, and the sushi places I've visited so far have been disappointing. We elected to visit Tokyo Cafe last night for my wife's 68th birthday. And we were not disappointed. My wife, son, and myself have eaten sushi all over the country, so I believe we know good product from bad. Tokyo Cafe serves nothing but good product. The sushi portions are huge, and not puffed up with a huge rice ball. Each portion is a mouthful of delicious, fresh seafood. Rolls are not usually my thing, although my wife loves them. From now on I'll be ordering rolls for myself when visiting Tokyo Cafe. They are spectacular. We did not order any sashimi, but if the product used for the sushi is any indication I'm sure the sashimi is excellent. Prices are very good, excellent for this quality. In the past, we've paid twice as much or more for portions half the size. We visited on a Monday night and there was a good bit of customer activity, surprising for a Monday. Several singles arrived and took seats at the bar. This is a sign of a good place, locals coming in for their fix of good sushi. It's a 20 plus minute drive for us, so we're not locals. This is cute sit down cafe serving fresh sushi and Thai food. The prices are very reasonable (be sure to check out their lunch specials), the servings are generous, and the staff was warm and friendly. We ordered the mango sushi roll and it came with ground up, pureed fish in two layers, one light and one dark pink. We've eaten here many times before and loved this sushi roll, but I don't recall getting it like that before. Please go back to making your rolls like you used to with sliced fish. I can not say enough good things about this restaurant! I eat here at least once a week, sometimes even more... This is hands down the best sushi in Greenville. The Godzilla roll is probably my favorite, but there are still many more I can't wait to try! The atmosphere is very warm and inviting, great for a date, or bring the kids.
