    My bland soggy salad

Total waste of money. We never waste food but every entree was terrible. Had to add lime to flavor my soggy Asian salad. My daughter's short rib was dry and overcooked. My son's bento box was uncooked broccoli with four pieces of chicken. OurWaiter, Daniel couldn't be bothered. I had to flag him for more lime, the check. He dropped off the bill and picked it up, never thank you. Had an attitude and look of disdain, like we were a bother. Would've told management, but like Daniel, the two men in suits never bothered to stop and inquire Don't know how such trash food be served at such a ridiculous price

Ambiance is great, staff is very friendly and welcoming! I came with my daughter and grandson to meet with other family. As we walked in the music was very loud but upbeat. It was a Thursday night and very crowded. We had reservation but was told they wee running behind. However, we didn't have to wait too long. The food was delicious and it was an amazing experience. We got the edamame dumplings, crispy rice, Wagyu strip and rainbow rolls. Our server was absolutely knowledgeable and helpful. We totally enjoyed our time there. I definitely recommend!

Toku is a beautiful restaurant located in the Americana Manhasset mall. The decor inside is very modern and elegant. We ordered a few different items from the menu. Started with the Handcut Toku Fries, Kimchee Chinese Broccoli, and the Wok Bok Choy & Shiitake Mushrooms. I enjoyed the Toku Fries and thought the others were okay. The fries came with a wasabi aioli dipping sauce, but I preferred a plain old ketchup with it instead. I ordered the Braised Short Ribs for my main couse. The dish featured blocks of short ribs served with peanut pad Thai noodles. I thought the dish could have used a bit more flavor, and I didn't think the short ribs paired effectively with the noodles. Although the food was okay, given the decor and ambiance of the restaurant, this is an ideal setting for a refined date experience

    Wagyu Steak Frites - 09/16/2025

The service was phenomenal. Love the sample of matches they leave on the way out. That being said I won't come here again. Yes it is a fancy high end vibe but that is where it ends. Fruit flies everywhere and my food tasted off putting. Especially my ikura sushi. The wagyu steak frites was edible but it had too much cartilage and definitely not worth the $55.00. It's very bad for a restaurant to have fruit flies as that most likely means it is unsanitary in the kitchen. It was not just one fruit fly. It was several.

Went on a lunch date to TOKU and left with mixed feelings. First off, the ambiance was beautiful! It gave sleek and upscale. The staff uniforms were polished and professional. Service was friendly and attentive, which set a great tone for the afternoon. What surprised and disappointed me right away was that rice isn't included with entrees. It's a separate charge. That felt a little off for a place in this price range. We ordered quite a bit to sample the menu. We asked for the appetizers and the entrée to be served at the same time. We ordered Lobster Tacos, Rock Shrimp Tempura, Soft Omelette Shrimp Fried Rice, Pacific King Roll, Tenderloin Beef & Broccoli as well as Handcut Toku Fries. To drink, I had the Lychee Martini, delicious and strong. I only needed one and sipped it slowly since I felt a buzz almost instantly. Not sure if it was that good or if I was just really hungry . My friend had the Virgin Pineapple Martini and enjoyed it as well. Food wise was a bit of a rollercoaster. The Pacific King Roll tasted good, but it only came with 6 pieces. My friend was disappointed and said she wouldn't get it again. The Lobster Tacos were tasty but more of a tease than a meal, "just a tickle," as she put it. The Toku Fries didn't live up to the hype for me, they were just okay. The Beef & Broccoli was a generous portion, and the beef was tender, but the flavor didn't quite hit. Honestly, I've had better from a neighborhood spot like Chinitos. Now for the highlight, the Soft Omelette Shrimp Fried Rice. It was a total standout. Perfectly cooked shrimp, soft flavorful rice, and veggies with the perfect bite. Melt in your mouth good. The only downside, you have to order it separately. No rice with entrees still boggles me. Lovely atmosphere, good drinks, some hits and some misses on the food. Worth a visit, but I'd be more selective with my order next time. Rating: 3.5

Came in to have an early dinner and the place was packed! It is a beautiful restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. The food here is so fresh and delicious. From their fried rice, to their sushi and to their drinks, there is something for everyone here! I love coming here and can't wait to come back!

Sunday fun day! Had a wonderful time at Toku. Antonio is an amazing bartender. His drinks are exceptional! Our waiter Milton was wonderful! He's a great conversationalist and provided exceptional service. The food was 10 out of 10 and they were very attentive. Will definitely be back! If you go tell them Ashley sent you.

One can't NOT visit Toku when in Manhasset, but it is certainly becoming more and more for special occasions only. The food quality has stayed the same for years (amazing) but the prices have been so jacked up it is ridiculous. I recommend getting a drink and splitting a dish at the bar with a friend, the bar staff is super attentive and kind.

Under the same owners as Cipollini, Toku is another great option to eat in the Americana Manhasset. We came here after eating some appetizers at Cipollini, and ordered a few rolls along with sashimi. Really good food coupled with a great vibey atmosphere. The bar gets very crowded at night, but offers a great night out. Service at the table was fair, but would come back anytime I'm in Long Island.

Went for a late night dinner with another couple on a Saturday, and I couldn't belie how packed out the place was at 10pm. It def has more of a lounge vibe after hours. I've been here years ago for normal dinner time and it was much calmer. The food was delicious as usual. Everything was amazing despite the kitchen being close to closing time. Everything was fresh and delivered on taste. Service from our waiter was fine but not as attentive due to the place being so busy. Overall, would return because the place is beautiful and the food is great! I highly recommend.

Ice cream trip - black sesame red bean and green tea

Overall had a nice anniversary dinner here( although they didn't wish us a happy anniversary even though we put it in our reservation info). Their pork buns weren't exactly what we were expecting but they were very good (Braised pork with some vegetable in a bao). The crispy rice with spicy tuna was nothing special but enjoyed. The eel avocado roll didn't quite hit the spot but was good quality. Our nigiri were all great with the highlight being the chutoro. The wagyu frites was the perfect portion and presented a fairly unique steak experience. The ice cream was really the finishing highlight with the black sesame being delicious. Service was great but very rigid. The place is beautiful but the menus and seating definitely had some wear to them. Would definitely return to try some of their other dishes and get more of that ice cream.

First time at Toku was a nice experience. The menu has an extensive selection of food and cocktails. We went for lunch and it was pretty busy. The decor is really lovely but we ate outside because the weather was great. Our server was very personable and accommodating and the other staff member was very attentive refilling our water. We had the duck salad, angry chicken and miso black cod and everything was delicious.

The restaurant itself was cozy and intimate - it kind of gives you a NYC restaurant kind of vibe which was nice to see on Long Island. I would note that it was freezing out and all the cold air came in when the front door opened. This made it very uncomfortable - I wonder how it is when it's really hot outside. Also, because it is a small restaurant, noise levels could be elevated. Spicy dumpling soup - very good but dumpling had no flavor. Probably store bought. Fluke carpaccio - very good. Some shrimp appetizer - shrimp was small and sauce was almost like a curry sauce. I would pass. Sushi platter - very good. Nigiris are pretty small. This won't fill you up. Grand wazoo roll - this was okay, torched squid was a little tough. Isn't she lovely roll - this was okay. Steak with potatoes and brussels sprouts - not much steak but very tender. Brussels sprouts were nicely cooked. Overall, a good experience especially with the service being top notch. While sitting on the high top worked, it took away from the experience. I would get a regular table or sit at the sushi bar. We were also distracted from the cold air coming in that my wife had to wear her coat. If you like a modern take on sushi, I think you would like this place but if you're looking for something more traditional, I would look elsewhere.

Really sleek, darkly lit and feeling like it's a place for a date night. But they had a lot of families with small kids in the restaurant as well. There's plenty of seating! I thought it was so nice of them to start us off with a bowl of warm edamame as we perused through the menu. Menu is not super extensive but it was a little difficult to read through. Large list of drinks compared to the food. It was also a little bit hectic hailing down the waitstaff for help, but it was a very busy weekend night. I ordered a couple of rolls. The East House roll was very nice, though I didn't expect from the description that the roll would not be wrapped in nori but in that clear-ish yubu skin situation. I wasn't mad about it, the presentation was beautiful. All of the fish felt very clean and not too strong or fishy tasting. I also had a spicy tuna roll which was good but not really spicy or tuna-y enough for my preferences. The sushi rice layers were nicely thin so that I didn't feel overstuffed with rice afterwards. Someone from my table ordered the hot udon as it was a cold and drizzly day outside. They felt the flavor was bland. It looked fairly bland and disappointing. Miso soup was also bland, though it was generously portioned. The shrimp teriyaki was overcooked. I do think this is a nice elevated environment, and as long as you're getting something from the sushi bar. It's a bit pricey, but you're getting pretty decent quality fish.

It's been a while since I've returned so when I was given a choice, this was and still is, my go to place when I'm nearby. This visit - lots of sushi on my mind. I ordered the chirashi bowl as my entree and a la carte, sea urchin sushi. Today the Hokaiddo uni was available so I splurged and got it. The California uni was available too but given the option, Hokaiddo is the way to go! The Chirashi is a beautiful bowl of fresh sushi - given my allergy to shrimp, I asked for a substitute piece of fish. They accommodated without an issue. The tuna, salmon, and mackerel was outstanding - so fresh! The octopus, yellowtail and tamago were perfect. I enjoyed this very much... Couldn't finish the rice. The bowl is a great deal and value. For starters, my friend and I enjoyed the lightly fried soft shell crab. It was simply divine - great crunch and a soft shell indeed. The optional scallion and dipping sauce isn't really needed but available. So good! It was super fresh. My friend ordered the Black Cod Bento box. Rice bowl comes on the side. These bento boxes are the best deal: comes with gyoza, fried tofu, edamame seaweed salad, wasabi salt, cucumber salad, both shrimp and vegetable tempura (even eggplant!) and the cod was sitting on top of some sauteed string beans. Both of our dinners came with a choice of house salad or miso soup. I recommended the salad because the dressing is fantastic here - citrusy and light ginger I think, with a bright orange color appeal. The complimentary noodles as a palate starter was also fantastic. There is a parking lot in the rear but I've often found spots easily on the street (metered parking but free after 7pm on the weekdays).

We started with an espresso martini, which was excellent--smooth, well-balanced, and a great way to kick off the meal. For appetizers, the wasabi rock shrimp and spicy tuna crispy rice were both standouts--fresh, flavorful, and nicely executed with great texture. We also ordered the 10 piece nigiri flight, which was consistently impressive. The fish tasted fresh across the board, with the uni being a highlight--rich, creamy, and exceptionally fresh. The shrimp tempura roll was delicious--crispy and well-balanced. The only dish that didn't quite land for us was the ebi hamachi futomaki. It wasn't bad, just not a favorite for my husband--I only remembered to take a photo when we were nearly finished. From the kitchen, we shared the black cod and sea bass--both outstanding. Tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked--definite highlights of the meal. For dessert, we shared the peach cobbler, which was a great finish. Warm peaches with hints of bourbon and cinnamon, paired with Japanese vanilla ice cream--comforting and well-balanced. Service was warm throughout, and the quality of the food was evident in nearly every dish.
