Probably the worst restaurant in morro bay at least for breakfast. Got the lox and instead of fresh salmon I got old stale looking pieces that look like they were left out on the counter. You can see from the picture the edges are dried out and hard as rock. My hubby got the chicken Alfredo and his was really good! I had a reaction to the meal I ate here today for starters. l ordered the albacore ahi special, it was overcooked, dry and fishy (so not so fresh) I was really disappointed in the overall selection of food here. Soybean oil in the fryer, butter is fake, a "blend" and was told they would cook my vegetable in olive oil, and that was definitely not olive oil. I avoid seed oils now for many years and when I get a dose this heavy it messes me up pretty good as it did today. Conclusion: I won't be back period, the quality of the food is rock bottom. So frustrated with the lack of real food available in Restaurants today, they should make these seed oils illegal like they do in Europe, I'm so tired of getting poisoned by this stuff. read more

My wife and I were visiting Morro Bay for the day on our way to Paso Robles for wine tasting. We decided to try Tognazzini's Dockside as was right along the waterfront and had pretty good reviews. For some reason we were not seated along the windows to look outside even though there were tables available. After we sat down it didn't really matter as we would have looked outside at stacks of containers not the water. I ordered the daily special of a seafood pasta with vodka cream sauce and my wife got the Cobb salad. Both meals were okay and not something to rave about. My wife didn't eat the entire salad as she said the veggies were not very good. My pasta dish was fair as I was expecting something really tasty with lots of shrimp, fish and scallops. Very disappointing with both of our choices. Next time in Morro Bay we will definitely be trying another restaurant. read more

The restaurant has a casual, comfortable diner vibe and views of Morro Bay and Morro Rock. The service was great. And the food - such great options for breakfast. I went with the Fishin' Fool (two eggs as you like, country potatoes or fried polenta, toast or English muffin, with a choice of meat: bacon, ham or sauce - country, sweet Italian, or linguica). I chose eggs over easy, fried polenta, sourdough toast, and linguica (Portuguese sausage) that made for a really special breakfast! My husband ordered their omelet with salmon, which he really enjoyed. Overall, it was a great meal. I'd happily return. read more

Honestly one of the best meals I have had in a while. I started with a local beer and the salmon bisque, the salmon bisque has so much salmon and the flavor was fantastic. Next, I got bread and an olive plate. The bread was fresh and warm sourdough, the olives and pickles were a nice addition and added to the meal for sure. I got the grilled fish sampler, which came with four types of fish/scallops/shrimp, a couple sauces, and I chose the polenta side. The polenta was the most underwhelming aspect of my meal, but still crispy and good. The veg was tasty, but the fish was exquisite. You can taste the freshness and literally see the workers and fisherpeople at the dock a few feet away. Absolutely worth the price, the tartar sauce was also fantastic and the cocktail was good too. Recommend to anyone trying to experience delicious, local seafood. The guy who brought me my bread was very friendly and nice, the waitress I had definitely seemed tired as it was the end of dinner service, but still was quick with her service and polite. I don't like getting the "put off" attitude from reception so it set a negative first impression. I just want to show up and usually have no problem to get a preferred table without a hassle. I don't want to hear after we ask for a better table you need to wait until we clean the table with a snarky vibe and direct us with a wave of her hand like she you would shoo a fly back to entrance. My cousin and I recently came here for dinner to celebrate our birthdays. It. Was. AMAZING. She ordered a seafood risotto (exact name unknown), and I ordered the Coast Guard Cobb salad with steak. While we were waiting for our food, our server brought us baskets of bread and butter whipped with chives, and antipasto plates with vegetables like olives, jicama, beets, and carrots. "I'm so excited," says my cousin, "I've never tried risotto." "What? You've never tried risotto?" "No, it's always too expensive. But you know what? It's my birthday. I'm gonna treat myself." Having grown up poor, and partially Italian, I found this hilarious. Risotto is basically just rice cooked in broth. Anyway, since she was ordering whatever she wanted, and I'd been craving a steak salad for weeks, I decided to go with that, and it turned out to be a wise decision. Not only was the steak cooked perfectly (medium rare, as I ordered it), but the salad was huge. We're talking spring mix, carrots, red onion, avocado, bacon, blue cheese, ranch, paprika spiced lemons, a slice of cheesy garlic bread, and most importantly, so much steak. Have you ever had a meal where neither one of you can stop talking about how good your food is, and all other conversations just fade away? This was that meal. As we were finishing our food, a man with a very thick Italian accent stopped to comment on how many pictures we were taking of our food. "It's my birthday!" said my cousin, excitedly, "Of course I'm going to take pictures!" "Happy birthday!" He said. As he walked away, my cousin said, "What do you think that accent was? Australian?" I said, "Are you serious?" She said, "What? No? Russian?" (My Italian comes from my mom's side, and this cousin comes from my dad's side.) Back at the house the next morning, as my cousin described her food to our aunt, she interrupted to ask, "What's risotto?" Slow service (only two other tables had customers), toast was 2 slices of bread on a plate straight out of the bag untoasted, "country potatoes " were dry and toasted in a pan with no oil or any type of seasoning no toppings just extremely dry and flavorless, "country sausage was two linguisa links. I ate 2 bites and decided it would be better to leave it. The waitress cleared the plate without even asking why nothing was touched, seemed like she could care less if we were there. Never came to ask about refills for coffee. Left 15% cash tip at the table. Paid cash at the register, bill was $32.67 for 2 of us, handed same waitress $35, she put the cash in the register and closed it, saying "You're all set, have a nice day", thereby giving herself yet another undeserved tip. Visiting Morro Bay, we decided to try this harbor-side restaurant. My family ordered a hamburger, fish & chips, and clam chowder and enjoyed them. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with no bun, which came with fries. Unfortunately, the chicken breast was so over cooked and rubbery that I had to ask for a steak knife to cut it. I ended up eating about 1/3 of it. The chicken was placed on top of close to half the fries, which made them soggy. We also had to wait awhile for our check.
