This is probably my favorite spot to eat when I'm at Universal Studios. They have plenty of options that are pretty healthy for a theme park, as well as a nice pastry and dessert case. They also have pretty good coffee options. The service is always great, and I love that it's open late during Halloween Horror Nights. The seating can be limited during peak times, but you can always take your food to go to eat elsewhere in the park. Some of my favorite menu items include the Big Apple Cheese Platter, Little Italy Caprese Platter, and Park Avenue Avocado Toast. This little cafe has limited seating, and can be a cluster to try to order or pick up a mobile order though the Universal Orlando mobile app. I found it pretty hard to find seating inside as we wanted to avoid the Florida humidity. Though the seating wasn't easy to navigate the food was perfect for a light lunch. As well as the staff was very friendly when interacting to inquire about my mobile order as I had been waiting awhile to pick up. read more

Getting the food though took forever and when I ordered there was only one table in there. The fruit cup was great, fresh and sweet. The coffee was good. The salad didn't have real chicken in it and it was dry as dust. You know that emulsified meat product that McDonalds nuggets are made of? Yeah, it was that. Today café is a solid easy fast food sandwich place. Everything here is fresh and light which is perfect on a hot day in the park. You can enjoy pastry, sandwich and salads at this place. There's also some grab and go options and dessert like croissant and cookies. We normally eat breakfast at this place cause they have a special menu for breakfast that is really good. This time, my girlfriend took the chicken salads which was great. She also took and almond croissant that she devoured. The place is themed to a fake tv show news channel presenting I think fake news. The service is ok. Everytime I mobile order, it take forever. A semi hidden gem! A lot of people actually don't sit and relax here and it's air conditioned! It has comfortable chairs and overall clean. The staff is usually upbeat and friendly. The food is delicious and yes, over priced but they are relatively quick in getting your food out, which if they're busy, they will call out your number rather than bring it out to your table. Stopped in for something to eat and a drink. Luckily, it wasn't too crowded when we got there but needless to say it was first thing in the morning. There were many options to choose from and everything looked really good. The employee that helped us was nice but I thought it was a little unprofessional that when the cashier asked another employee to get the chocolate eclair that we ordered, she gave her a look like "get it yourself." I'm not sure what their procedures are as to who gets the items and who rings up customers, or if they have a problem with each other, but I felt that it was a little unprofessional to see that. When I come to Universal Studios I choose to eat at the Today Cafe. Out of all of the options at Universal, I feel like this establishment offers the freshest food. I order the smoked salmon lox bagel & it is absolutely delicious. Such a generous amount of lox on the bagel. Bagel is toasted nicely. Fruit cup or potato salad comes as your side. This is probably one of the most underrated places to eat in the Universal Parks. They really have some great options, everything from sandwiches to salads to even an açaí bowl! So it's actually pretty healthy stuff, which is hard to find when eating at amusement parks and I really appreciated it. They have a lot of fun assortments of desserts and pastries as well, although you have to be careful what you pick because a lot of them are mass processed stuff so it's not always great tasting or high quality. For example, the key lime tart, it had great flavor but the crust was super soggy because it sat out in the display case for who knows how long. But I got the avocado toast and that was fantastic. You have the option to get fruit with it too, which I'd definitely recommend over the potato salad. There's a nice outdoor seating area too where you can just people watch, and it's fascinating. They do have a dine-in option even though this says otherwise. You can also do an order through the app and they will bring it out to where you're sitting and you don't even have to stand in line. (All prices at theme parks are stupid high so I chose not to comment on that) read more

The Today Cafe is a good choice for breakfast when you've had your fill of Voo-Doo Donuts and 3 Broomsticks! Nice selection of baked goods and a few breakfast sandwiches. The inside looks super cute with a glistening clean glass counter and TV station looking front ordering. The inside stayed cool in the summer heat of Orlando which was sooooo nice. There is outside seating and if you get there early you can people watch. Just watch out for the birds trying to snag a treat. We were lucky enough to have the early passes so we got great seats outside the second time we had breakfast here. The cafe sits on the Main Street of Universals Island of Adventure right inside the gate. If I remember correctly, it's the first restaurant you come to making it a great stop to fill up before you hit the park. I highly recommend. read more

I always get the pastrami sandwich and my fiancee always gets the avocado toast here and we are never disappointed, and I actually enjoy the Today Show stuff they play in the cafe! Went here for breakfast twice during our visit to Universal Studios. It is very close to the main entrance so it's easy to find. It's inside the park itself so a ticket will be needed. The food is decent and the prices aren't bad. Muffins and croissants are cheaper than most hotels at only $4 or $5 each. They're also good and very filling. The staff is good enough and the service is decent as well. It's supposed to be like being on site at a news studio so basic decor nothing famcy, but a decent amount of tables. I would especially recommend coming here for a quick cheap breakfast or snack, especially if you have big lunch or dinner plans later. I still miss the giant chocolate dipped hazelnut creme filled croissant. It had so much creme filling and was so massive that I had to get help finishing it. It was so good and it was only $5.10 including tax. They serve the food on a paper plate, but take out boxes are plastic so I recommend getting a plate. read more

I love that Universal has been moving in the right direction by providing vegan options in many places, and several of them have been really great. This was my first time dining at Today Cafe and came specifically for the vegan sandwich. According to the menu, this sandwich should have roasted Portobello, peppers, zucchini, carrots, vegan jalapeno cheese, and sun-dried tomato pesto. While I understand that sometimes ingredients run out, I think that the customer should be informed of that before purchasing. My sandwich, as pictured, had 2 pieces of Zucchini and one mushroom, along with the pesto. For nearly $15, I would recommend my fellow vegans going elsewhere - especially if you're actually hungry. read more

You really gotta like Today Cafe to sit inside. The sandwich I had, The Bulls & The Bears was excellent but having to hear the Today show while I was eating was a little annoying. Nothing against the show but I go to a theme park to escape the reality, and to be honest the Today show isn't my top choice in the real world either. But the sandwich was great. The brisket was so moist and tender. It paired well with the horseradish cream. Everything about it was a smash hit! I imagine this is a great place for both breakfast and lunch! There is something for everyone on the menu from turkey and roast beef sandwiches to salads and desserts. It does take a little time to stand in line then order but you can sit inside or outside with a number for your order to be brought to you. I had the grilled cheese and apple Sandwich and while it was very messy in preparation, it was good with a good selection of fruit in the fruit cup. Prices are high but normal for theme parks. You can expect long waits to order and then for your food, but it is a good option for something lighter to eat in the park. read more

Was told there was going to be gluten free and vegan options here so opted to go here while my family went to check out another restaurant. There is limited space and seating so you may or may not get a spot to sit so have a plan B in case you can't eat your food at their location. I stood in teh long line and got up to the check out place. The lady working the register was super friendly, chatty and just overall nice. However there was not much for options to eat. There was a salad with beets and root vegetables. And then there was overnight oats or a small cup of fruit. Everything was WAY over priced. WAY over priced and portions were extremely small. I was super hungry after not eating all day and was so sad to find all i was going to be able to have was the overnight oats and even then that is not really in my normal for what I would eat. This is the best theme park food I've ever had! We went during HHN, so maybe around 10pm, and there was a decent line. We got the mulberry street Italian, little Italy capresse, watermelon, basil, and feta flatbread, the Carnegie, and a chocolate chip cookie. Each sandwhich was served with either potato salad or a fruit cup (your choice). Everything was great, the only letdown was that the cookies weren't warm. This would 100% be my top runner and go to in Universal Studios because the quality goes above and beyond everything else and is the same price if not cheaper than everything else. read more

I'm not usually a fan. My vanilla latte was also great. I love the style of the hot cups. Cons: the table assignment methodology is spotty at best. The cashier had trouble dining things up correctly both times I went. The line was only medium fast. Once they ran out of a sandwich my friend ordered it, but they compensated her by giving her a free pastry - so no stars were affected by this issue. read more
