Had a one week stay at the Boardwalk Villas for the first time and the CMs told us that the resort's Boardwalk Deli was the property Quick Service. With excited, hungry hopes after a red eye flight, my family and I scurried over to the Boardwalk Deli excited for the usual resort quick service options of Mickey waffles, eggs, bacon, and typical quick service options the WDW resorts have to offer. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Breakfast sandwiches (mostly on limited bagel choices) and pastries were all they served. They were above average tasting, so taste was not that big of a factor. Totally bummed out at the lackluster choices for breakfast, we ordered what we needed to satisfy our hunger and had high hopes for the other meals of the days during the rest of our stay. To our dismay, the choices during lunch and dinner were also really disappointing. (Avoid the grilled cheese. Completely disappointing!) We ended up only utilizing the deli to fill our refillable drink cups during the trip. For what it's worth, the Boardwalk Deli did have the mobile order or standby options available. There are no inside options to sit down and eat your food, so rain or heat, you can only sit in the outside tables and chairs along the Boardwalk if you don't want to take the food back to your room to eat. Everything about our stay at the Boardwalk Villas was amazing except the Quick Service options. With a baby in tow now, our days are a little bit different and we find ourselves not spending every second at the parks. Having a solid quick service option on property is important. We stopped at the BoardWalk Deli for a quick bite, and food-wise, it delivered... but the service really missed the mark. Chicken Salad - The salad with chicken was good and had a generous amount of chicken on it, which I appreciated. Fresh, filling, and exactly what you'd expect for a quick-service option. Turkey Sandwich - Also good! Solid flavor and a satisfying portion. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there. My daughter ordered a turkey sandwich without garlic aioli, and because of that "special order," we ended up waiting while they served fourteen people after us. Fourteen. We finally had to say something, only to be told they were serving the other orders first because hers didn't have the aioli on it. After finally receiving the sandwich, we went outside to sit... and realized they had forgotten her chips as well. Overall, the food itself was good, but the service and handling of a simple modification really impacted the experience. Came here for breakfast. The menu on the app indicates they have GF bagels but the restaurant doesn't list any of the options on their board. I informed the cashier I was celiac/GF and she brought over a manager. I ordered a cheese and egg breakfast sandwich on a GF bagel. They wrote my ticket separately. It did take quite awhile to get the food but I'm assuming it's because they wanted to avoid cross-contamination. I did see the manager take the sandwich to a different area to prep. The BoardWalk Deli has been here for a long as I can remember, though it used to be called the BoardWalk Bakery and had more of a focus on baked goods. I think the pivot makes sense, as this serves as the counter-service spot for the BoardWalk Inn and Villas so there was a need for a better variety of offerings. During my most recent trip I stopped here a couple of times to check it out - both because I was hungry and I wanted to see how it stacked up against other resort counter-service eateries. The deli is not large, and everything is behind the counter so everything must be ordered with a cast member and handed to you. I was there around lunch time and they had a decent variety of sandwiches and salads, as well as some baked goods and beverages. I had a lot of sweets for breakfast so I was looking for something more savory - and I found that in the roasted turkey sandwich. In addition to the aforementioned meats, the sandwich contained tomatoes, provolone, and a garlic aioli. I also had my choice of sides (soup, slaw, pickles, chips) and I chose chips. The sandwich was fine, I question if the turkey was oven-roasted - I mean it may be but it was also cold-cut turkey which I try to avoid. Outside of that, the sandwich was tasty with a good balance of flavor. Service was also good, despite the setup that predisposes a lot of backup, the team did a great job keeping the line moving. Overall, BoardWalk Deli serves its purpose, though I feel it's a weaker counter-service spot compared to ones in other deluxe Disney resorts. One can argue that the tradeoff is that you have a better variety of eateries since you're on the BoardWalk, but that's subjective. My oh my oh my. New favorite place to eat at Disney unlocked! Everything at this deli looked SO good. I had the Warm Reuben sandwich and it was delicious. It had generous amount of corned beef and the perfect amount of cheese, dressing, pickles and sauerkraut (I'm salivating just remembering). The service was excellent as well. One of the people in our party has a full allergy and the shift manager was very kind and patient going through the list of ingredients to make sure we were comfortable. She even made the meal herself to make sure it was done properly! As for the ambience, the deli is as cute as can be, but you don't sit inside. They have small tables outside on the boardwalk so you can enjoy the view of the water and hear music playing. We came here at the end of March and the weather was fantastic, not too hot. In the height of summer you may want to grab yours food and sit somewhere more shaded. There's a beautiful gazebo not too far from the deli where you may enjoy your meal and take shelter from the heat. read more

Appreciated I only recently learned there is a Disney Boardwalk, a row of shops and restaurants reachable by walking from the back of EPCOT, which is what we did. It's a nice 10 minute walk, nice area, with Resorts positioned around a manmade lake. We stepped into the BoardWalk Deli and walked past the food area to the register where we ordered and paid. I decided on their Italian Sub. Even though it wasn't all that busy, we were given a buzzer for when our food was ready for pickup. There is no seating inside but there are tables outside on the boardwalk. While most were occupied, we did find one and waited on a beautiful day at a beautiful spot for our buzzer to go off. It took only a couple more minutes. I headed back in to the cashier area for the food and we relaxed and enjoyed our lunch. Made on a fairly hard sub roll I wouldn't rate this sandwich better than average, but the price was reasonable, the volume was there, and our visit was a welcomed reprieve from the crowds of EPCOT. read more

The smoked salmon didn't come on the bagel, it came in a plastic container on the side smothered in onions (onions not noted on menu) and the taste was inedible as a result. The "latte" comes out of a machine no nicer than something you'd find in a low budget common area office kitchen. The cashier tried to hand me my latte without any milk because the machine was out. This was our first time trying the Boardwalk Deli and it was not a good experience purely because of the issues we encountered with the staff. The food was good, but it couldn't make up for the poor service. I've been wanting to stop by here since it's relatively new. I saw it on Instagram and we thought it would be a nice lunch before leaving Disney. You would think getting a couple sandwiches wouldn't be a hassle, but it was. We had a ticket number for our order. When we went to get it, they swapped our bag with someone else. We attempted to trade bags with the other customer, who also realized the mistake, but the staff tried to prevent us from swapping, insisting they gave us the right stuff. Both our party and the other customer had to argue that they had given us the wrong food. Eventually, we swapped bags and got what we needed, but not without pushback from the staff who messed it up. Not only that, but while we were trying to work everything out, other customers walked up to complain that their orders were wrong. Unfortunately that's not even the worst part! My sister is deathly allergic to tree nuts and carries an epipen. Disney is usually extremely accommodating of allergies. We told them about her allergy to make sure her food was safe. They verbally confirmed they understood she was allergic to tree nuts. However, on the order slip they indicated that she was allergic to wheat and gluten, not nuts and gave her a sandwich that we couldn't be sure was safe. We had to go back and get them to remake it. They remade it with the right allergy precautions, but it was clear they didn't fully understand our needs. They gave her gluten free bread and no condiments even though we specifically said the only thing she needed to avoid was nuts, so the sandwich was kinda gross. Clearly they need to work on their procedures because the rest of our allergy experiences at Disney have been amazing. I will say, the food was good. I got a Reuben sandwich with pastrami, slaw, pickles, and thousand island dressing with a side of tomato basil soup. The sandwich was good, but I couldn't taste the dressing The soup was awesome. So glad we made time to stop in. We've been paying $10 for mediocre bagel sandwiches at our resort and Boardwalk Deli had the best smoked salmon bagel with a side for the same price. As the name says this Deli is right on Disney's Boardwalk not to far from The Skyliner at Epcot so it's a chill little stop before going to the park while hopping around! Of the many delicious options I totally had to go with the Warm Pastrami Ruben as that's always a good choice and let me say it was the best choice as the sandwich had a ton of flavor in the pastrami along with the rye bread and the dressing making for one delicious sandwich! They also make their own pickles here as pickles are one of my favorite things I was all for it and let me say it was perfect not too pickled but not to much still a cucumber just perfect!
