First let me say the place is spotless - and the energy is welcoming family vibey goodness. Recently expanding has given The Toasted cafe ample seating so we did not have to wait - keeping in mind we arrived just before 11:00 am on Saturday so we were after the morning rush. The Menu is just right - not too big not too small with great daily specials. The grits are sublime - perfectly cooked creamy goodness. I had the Eggs Benedict with perfectly cooked hash browns - they nailed it. My breakfast guest had the two egg special with a side of bacon added. Eggs in all were outstanding cooked to perfection. Came to toasted cafe with a friend and her 2 year old son. We arrived for breakfast around 10am on a Monday with no issues getting a table. The place was pretty empty actually. Our server came by promptly offering coffee and menus. Its pretty basic breakfast offerings. Eggs, pancakes, french toast etc. They do have breakfast specials that you order by the number as well. I opted for an omelet with bacon, mushrooms, onion and swiss cheese. This also came with home fries and toast. My friend ordered a special- 2 eggs with cheese on top of a english muffin. She also got her son a special of 1 pancake, egg, and a slice of bacon. The food came out quickly but my omelet was wrong- there was no cheese in it. Once I got our servers attention she quickly fixed it. My friends eggs were slightly undercooked (she asked for over medium and they were def over easy) wasn't worth sending back but just worth noting.We were pretty much the only people there and both our dishes were at least slightly wrong. The homefries while cooked nicely lacked flavor or seasoning. I used quite a bit of hot sauce to make them flavorful. As far as value for all three of us the bill was only 23 dollars so definitely a lot of food for your money. If looking for a basic breakfast spot that doesn't break the bank toasted cafe is your place. read more

It's nice to sit inside here as there is enough room to move around and my experience with the waitress was very good. I didn't get her name but everyone was on point. There were a few different people that refilled our coffee and made sure we were doing good. Even one of the cooks came out to ask how we were doing. An ample portion of gyro meat, lovingly cradled with lettuce and tzatziki in a soft pita -- the tastes and textures a dance of beautiful complement. With an ample side of excellent steak fries plus slaw and a pickle spear, the gyro sandwich platter is a hearty and delicious lunchtime option. And at $8.50, quite a reasonably priced option too. As impressive was the staff; from the manager who made a point to stop by my table and say hello, to the delightful server Mary Anne who radiated hospitality -- they made a great visit extra special. Toasted Cafe has many tempting-looking offerings, and I hope to try more of them. But as I told them, that dang Gyro sandwich was so good, it'll be hard to pass up to try something new. Ive been back every weekend since my first time here and all through out the week. This is the only place now, that does the NY style home fries and their french toast is my very close ,second favorite thing here. My regular meal is a number 5 (french toast with eggs and bacon) with a side of home fries and sour cream! Customer service is awesome with friendly faces and even when this cozy spot is filled up, your wait is never long once you're seated for anything. Prices are really good too. So far, other than my normal, I've tried the corn beef hash, the burger deluxe and the gyro's. All delicious! They have some great weekend specials too. Sundays it can get pretty packed around noon but its absolutely worth it!! I wish i could write more but honestly, this place is great and speaks for itself! I like the Toasted Cafe. Much better than other options in the area. It has been awhile since their expansion into the space next door and now they can accommodate twice as many customers. Unfortunately the kitchen has found ways to continue the speedy service by taking too many shortcuts. Yes, all the diners precook the bacon. Even so it can't be served dry like a sausage that has been hanging around for a long time. It is Sunday, I'd rather wait for a fresh cooked meal than accept shortcuts. What I found really sad was the precooked French Toast. It was cooked in advanced then warmed either under some sort of heat source or thrown back in the grill. The result is a crunchy edged French Toast. Not their normal hot off the grill French Toast. It is difficult to handle larger crowds especially on a Sunday morning. Service is good, the eggs were cooked as ordered and the coffee taste great. I'll be back and I will follow up because these guys want to do it right. read more

They could not have been more attentive. Then there is the food! We had the Irish Benedict and two eggs over easy with hash browns. The Irish Benedict was absolutely fantastic! It was a taste fest. The eggs for the second dish were perfectly cooked and the hash browns were lovingly browned. The rye toast was even buttered. It was so thick it tasted like Texas toast.
