First time here, located in a strip plaza. Service was quick and friendly, wife had tuna sandwich on toasted rye, I had chicken salad on toasted wheat, both came with coleslaw and pickle. Lunch was good, price was great, I would come back again. read more

We were here for breakfast today. This is a cute small "diner" type of place owned by a very nice Greek family. They definitely know how to take care of their customers. I had pumpkin pancakes - huge, couldn't even finish them even though my daughter was helping me. Their home fries were also very good. My husband had chip beef from the specials menu. The food was not great, I came in looking at the reviews thinking it would be amazing. Eating my first egg I found a hair in the food, I said no big deal. But open my turkey sausage finding another hair in it. I found a total of maybe 7 hairs in my food. It was absolutely disgusting. This little spot is just a few minutes away from my house and I decided to try it after seeing all the good reviews on Yelp. My only regret is not trying it sooner. The portions are huge and the food is delicious. I ordered the chicken gyro. It was very good with a generous portion of chicken. My favorite thing though was the steak fries. They were golden and crispy and not greasy at all. They have lots of menu options for both lunch and breakfast. The prices are very reasonable and the service was good too. read more

Every time we decide to go out we check the reviews of the place on yelp. We drove 37 minutes because this place had great reviews. We came once and our experience was not the best. The food was good but the staff, meaning waitresses and host have a terrible attitude. We came again because we wanted to give them a second chance. The same food was good... staff had terrible attitude again. I suggest you guys give some good customer serving training to your staff. After that the restaurant will be five stars. Either the reviews are staff and friends or these people eat anything. The place is super clean (it's new) and the staff is friendly but the food is awful and they have two different types of music playing so it's impossible to relax. pop music in the dining area and Latin music in the kitchen drowning out each other. We have been eating here about 3 years and it's always slightly above average but today my opinion changed drastically. I went to breakfast with my fiancé like always trying to support local business during COVID and today my breakfast came out with a hair in the eggs. I sent it back and the owner or her daughter made a comment i over heard it's just a hair on the plate. I did not appreciate the comment because just a hair on my plate so I decide to not eat while my fiancé finished her breakfast. The woman came over and apologized saying she didn't mean what she said well I don't know how I could misunderstand what she said even the server thought it was inappropriate. The bill came and they removed my meal and apologized but still charged me for the two drinks and the other meal which I have no issue with that except they really didn't try to fox anything. We will not be returning to the establishment and I would suggest thinking twice if a hair is not a big deal in your food what other COVID corners are they cutting. read more

Great find. Open for lunch and breakfast. Fluffy pancakes, large eggs, crispy bacon and Ryebread is fresh. Lunch specials are priced right and you get large portions. They have cooked meals. Turkey dinner, pot roast, steak and chicken dinners. As well as burgers, gyros, tuna and other sandwiches. Home made baklava was amazing and huge.small dinner the atmosphere. Nice place to eat, the food is fresh and the staff is friendly. Menu is basic that offers lots of favorites. I did not see anything on the menu that would be their signature dish but with time maybe that maybe considered. Hopefully they can withstand the test of time as they are in the company of many gems in Margate that have carved out a much needed niche to survive . I have not actually visited this restaurant but we order food delivered from Toasted Cafe to our office at least once a week for breakfast or lunch. It's consistently good and the service is always excellent. Christina is always a friendly voice on the phone and their drivers are the nicest. Highly recommended for food delivery in the North Lauderdale/Margate area as there aren't too many choices. read more

Another great "mom & pop" find! Good menu with many choices! Located in a Strip-Mall and there is plenty of parking! Had a burger there last week that was cooked perfectly and tasted good! Today's breakfast was 2 eggs, hash browns, toast & coffee, bill with tax was $6.30. Meal was perfect and included coffee! Where can you go today to get a good meal at a reasonable price like this!? Place is spotless (So important!), staff friendly & attentive, and food was cooked perfectly! What more can you ask for? Today's Server, Lisa, who was attentive and smiled, refilled my coffee several times without me having to ask! The Owner Christina even came over and introduced herself (something I love in these "mom & pop" restaurants). Very customer oriented and "down-to earth! (not a "robot" like you find in many corporate restaurants!) All in all I've had two great dining experiences and recommend "The Toasted Cafe" to anyone looking for a "Good" breakfast or lunch, at a reasonable price, with friendly, attentive service! Great restaurant run by a friendly family. Service was quick, efficient. Coffee was a bit strong (which I prefer). For a Saturday breakfast we were in & out in 45 minutes but never felt rushed. That being said, I was delighted & surprised at what the new owners brought 'to the table'. 1. The food: Fresh, delicious, brilliant, to order & well presented. 5 stars. 2. The prices: A great value. Perfectly set for quality food in a quality environment. More than competitive. 5 stars. 3. The facility: Major upgrades; immaculate, welcoming, comfortable, well laid out, light & airy. 5 stars. 4. The service: Everything you'd expect from a high end eatery and more. Even when the café is busy, the staff is super attentive & makes me feel like a VIP every visit. 5 stars. 5. Bonus: As a local, there are 22 comparable eateries within .5 miles from which I can choose - after trying ALL of them, I choose The Toasted Café (at least 3 times a week).
