    Salmon Cakes

Talk about amazing breakfast! I came just for the salmon cakes and I'm glad I made the trip. The salmon cakes were perfectly cooked and seasoned. They were topped with picked onions and arugula with a light sauce. Sitting on a bed of pimento grits. I had a side of scrambled eggs and a honey biscuit as well. Let's just say I over ate because it was just that good. Yet still didn't finish. Got there first thing on a Thursday morning and quickly the restaurant started to fill up. I sat at the bar and the staff were very attentive and pleasant.

Let me tell you, Toast was so good I forgot to take pictures until halfway through! I love some good soul food and this was a 5/5. I ordered the catfish, collard greens, and candied yams and it was all delicious. I wish the yams were cooked a little longer but still so good regardless. Service was also excellent. We were seated immediately and everyone was very friendly. The restaurant was also very clean. I would definitely like to return and try something else!

This place serves delicious food. The venue is at the corner of a strip mall. Parking is extremely limited during brunch on the weekends but plenty of parking throughout the week. I would get here early if I were you. I have tried the French Toast, Short Rib skillet, and Catfish & Grits. Everything has tasted great. This time, I ordered the salmon cakes with scrambled eggs and grits. The food is amazing. The salmon cakes must be made in house because it was packed with salmon and flavor. The eggs were good. The biscuit was covered in honey and decent. The grits were extremely good also.

Very pleased with my experience here. I had the salmon cakes and grits and it was very tasty. The grits were perfect and the salmon cakes were delicious and came with a tasty aioli. I ate the whole thing. I had a peach lemonade. It was very strong, they out too much flavoring making it a bit tart but it was still good just neeeded to be watered down a bit. The service was good and honestly quick to say this place was competent packed. We were sat on the outdoor patio and I actually enjoyed this because it was such a nice day. I would definitely go back.

Food was AMAZING!! Our waiter Drew was so personable and gave wonderful suggestions for food. It was our first time there and our experience was fantastic! Everyone was so pleasant and warming as they passed our table. It's is such a nice quaint restaurant. Toast is a must when visiting Atlanta!

Visited at 10A on a Saturday morning without a reservation. We certainly lucked out because we were sat immediately but the folks that arrived after us had 20+ minute wait. I had the fried catfish and grits and it was so good! The seasoning on the catfish was perfect. This is a busy restaurant! All tables full with people talking and having a good time. Great music playlist as well.

This place always has a long wait, day or night. I finally experienced what the hype was all about. I decided to get takeout instead of waiting. The staff was friendly, and the pickup process was simple. The restaurant is small, which contributes to the wait, but the decor is adorable and very Instagram-worthy. Now, let's get to the food, the main reason you're here. Starting with the positives: the portion size lasted me two days, and the beef was very tender. However, the skillet was a bit bland, nothing really stood out, and I was expecting more for the price. The honey butter biscuits made up for the skillet, and when combined, it created a mix of sweet and savory flavors. I'll go back and try the chicken and waffles to see if I prefer that.

Toast on Lenox is worth the rave. Every time I visit Atlanta, I hear people talk about this place, so on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. I decided to pull up to Toast on Lenox in Buckhead to finally see what the hype was about. It was already packed, and there was a wait even though brunch had barely started. I grabbed the only open seat at the bar and tried to order a drink, but they do not serve alcohol until 11:00 a.m. That alone tells you the food must be good because the place was full before anyone could even order a cocktail. This location had the Biscoff French toast, and I am a huge Biscoff lover, so I had to try it since it was their featured French toast. It did not disappoint at all. It was delicious. After 11:00am. I ordered a cold brew cocktail with Kahlúa Baileys and Jameson. It was also really good. The entire space is aesthetically pleasing and perfect for taking photos. I cannot wait to go back the next time I am in Atlanta to try more of their dishes because the food was excellent. The bartender Ashley also provided great service.

This is my second time stopping by Toast on Lennox and let me help encourage you to add this restaurant to your list of Atlanta brunches to try. For one, reservations are HIGHLY recommended unless you're a party of 2 or 1. I would definitely recommend sitting at the bar because the service was FANTASTIC!! Plus, you don't have to wait for your drink, you got it almost immediately. Shout out to our bartender Kay ! She was amazing !!!! The ambiance was a vibe, per usual ! Beautifully decorated, great music and packed with guests. Now let's get into the food ! For starters, I ordered the seafood dip and it came with 2 pieces of delicious garlic baguettes. 1000/10 !!! Then I tried their cup of seafood gumbo. Now this dishes shocked me. It was JAMMED PACKED with flavor and even had a kick to it ! 1000/10 !!!! My beverage of choice was a dusse and strawberry margarita which was amazing !!! My main dish was their Mississippi catfish with Mac n cheese and collard greens. The catfish was fresh and full of flavor, the mac n cheese were sooo cheesy and tasted like they came from your aunties kitchen!!! Now the greens on the other hand, I wasn't a fan of. They tasted like vinegar with sugar. My sister ordered the Cookie and Cream French toast and I couldn't stop eating off her plate ! The presentation and flavor gave everything it needed to give !!!

We arrived around 9:45am and were seated by 10:15, which wasn't bad for the busy brunch crowd. I ordered the fried catfish and grits with grilled shrimp, and it was absolutely delicious--especially with the hot honey sauce! The food came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor, and it didn't take long once we were seated. Our server was excellent--attentive, friendly, and on top of everything. I also tried my friend's Bananas Foster French Toast, which was amazing--not overpoweringly sweet, just right. Next time, I already know I want to try the Biscoff French Toast! Overall, a great brunch experience. I'll definitely be back.

I had been seeing this place in passing as well as online and had been meaning to visit. Today, before my wedding dress try-on appointment, my mom and I stopped in for breakfast. AMBIANCE The ambiance was trendy and fun. There was a definite vibe and style! SERVICE Tujarie was our server and he had really nice energy. He was kind and welcoming, as were all of the many staff. Despite the restaurant being busy, we were served in a timely manner! FOOD The food was exceptional! My mom and I shared an order of shrimp and grits as well as the ricotta pancakes. The shrimp and grits were flavorful and rich, and a huge portion! It was neck and neck, but our star favorite would probably be the pancakes. They were fluffy on the outside with a nice crispy edge, and were served with pure maple syrup which we were thrilled with! The honeycomb butter and fresh fruit really set it off to make it a perfect dish! We will be back!

The food was amazing- beautiful presentation and delicious! My husband and I arrived a little before 10:00am on a Saturday, and we were able to snag a seat at the bar. The food came out crazy fast and I added on a side of bacon after my food came out and it literally came out within a minute. The bar tender was friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. They were crowded but that didn't slow down the food or drinks. Good brunch date spot.

Had a 2 PM Sunday reservation and waited about 15 minutes after our full party arrived. The space is clean and stylish but the air circulation isn't the best. Service was good. Our server was attentive and kept things moving without rushing us. The food was the highlight! Everything we had was fresh, flavorful, and better than expected. The Cajun seafood dip and honey butter biscuits were my favorites. My friend had the salmon cakes and liked that they weren't heavy on the breading. Overall, this spot lives up to the buzz. It's a solid spot for brunch.

We had to make a decision quickly when we were pivoting, and when we came across the great reviews and photos of the food. we didn't think twice about checking to see if we could make it happen. When we arrived, the staff was already preparing our table, so we only had to wait a few minutes before being seated. The space is pretty tight, and you're going to be close to the tables near you, but we were able to sit comfortably. Our server came over quickly to take our drink orders, and afterward she came back to answer any questions. Most of the food was ready at the same time. We appreciated that it came out as it was ready and wasn't left sitting. And everyone enjoyed the food! The only "complaint" one of my friends had was that she thought there was a little too much sauce in her shrimp and grits dish. She felt that the sauce, while it tasted great, overpowered the dish and she would've liked to taste more of the grits flavor. All in all, I'd say we'll likely be back to try something else on the menu.

Title: Flavor Explosion, Soulful Hospitality & a Last-Minute Meal That Turned Magical…read more Let me just say this: what started as a "quick bite before closing" turned into one of the most memorable dining experiences I've had in a long time. We arrived at The Poach Social about 20 minutes before closing, unsure if we'd be rushed--but instead, we were welcomed with warmth and ease. Lived the ambiance. Hunter, our server, was incredibly sweet, attentive, and knowledgeable. She made us feel taken care of from the very start. Then came Victor, the owner and chef--and this is where things shifted from good to special. Without us even asking, he recommended a mocktail that felt like it was made just for me: a sorrel-based drink layered with ginger, spice, herbs, and fresh fruit. It was refreshing, balanced, and honestly one of the best non-alcoholic drinks I've had. We started with the jerk egg rolls... and I'm not exaggerating when I say we were clapping after the first bite. Crispy, juicy, flavorful, with a sweet-spicy sauce that just worked. We immediately knew we'd be taking more to go. For the main course, we ordered the Poach Social breakfast plate and the blackened salmon with polenta. The breakfast plate was comforting and well-executed, but the salmon dish? Absolutely unforgettable. Perfectly seasoned, melt-in-your-mouth texture, with creamy polenta and a rich sauce that brought everything together. It was a full-on flavor experience. The timing of everything--from drinks to apps to entrées--was seamless. Hunter checked in at the perfect moments, never too much, never too little. We ended up in a lovely conversation with Victor, who is not only talented but genuinely kind and passionate. He brought us complimentary slices of carrot cake, and even though we were already full... we ate every bite. No regrets. It was phenomenal. What I loved most is that this place doesn't just serve food--it creates an experience. There's intention, care, and heart behind everything. If you're in Atlanta, do yourself a favor and go. This place deserves to thrive. We will absolutely be back.

The cashier really leaned into the accent and took the time to thoroughly explain the menu, which made the whole experience feel more immersive and welcoming. Parking was easy on an early weekday afternoon -- always a win. The space works well for small parties, but be prepared: tables are small and seating is close together. Went to Breakfast at Barney's on a Sunday morning with my brother and immediately understood why…read morethis place stays packed. This is not your "grab a quick biscuit and leave" type of breakfast spot. This is Atlanta brunch culture turned into a full experience. 4/5 The ambiance hits first. Emerald green booths, marble tables, warm lighting, good music, and a crowd that looked like Sunday had multiple dress codes. One table looked fresh out of church in full elegance. Another looked like they just finished a Target run and decided they deserved French toast after surviving aisle 14. Somehow it all blended together perfectly. People were smiling, talking loud, taking photos, and genuinely enjoying themselves. The restaurant feels upscale without making you feel uncomfortable. Service was honestly one of the best parts of the experience. Every woman working there was kind, professional, patient, and welcoming. No attitude. No "you bothering me" energy. In Atlanta brunch culture, that alone deserves a standing ovation and a church tambourine. Water stayed filled, food came out smoothly, and the staff carried themselves like they wanted you there. Now the food. The 24 Karat Gold Pancakes are the celebrity of the menu for a reason. The menu describes them as "3 fluffy pancakes dressed with strawberries, blueberries, powdered sugar, honey butter, edible orchid & 24k edible gold" served with bourbon apple cider syrup. 4/5. These pancakes are massive. Not "oh that's a decent portion" massive. These are "why does this pancake look like a car tire?" massive. People around us were sharing them like an appetizer table at a family reunion. Apparently the restaurant originally wanted this stack to feed four people only, but they changed it because Atlanta decided portion control was optional and everybody wanted their own plate. Respectfully, the people won. The pancakes already have sweetness built into them, so you barely need syrup. The texture was soft and fluffy throughout. The only thing missing was those crispy diner-style edges that give pancakes a little bite and contrast. Eggs were a solid 3/5. Nothing offensive, nothing life changing. They existed peacefully on the plate and minded their business. The breakfast potatoes were the weakest part of the meal at 2/5. Small cubes, under-seasoned, and lacking personality. These potatoes felt like they got hired last minute and never trained properly. The Sweet Heat Wings though? Different story. 4/5. The flavor was immaculate. Sweet, sticky, savory, and balanced with enough heat to keep you coming back. The only problem is the wings looked like they came from a chicken that skipped breakfast at Barney's itself. Tiny. Delicious, but tiny. The catfish nuggets were another strong plate. 4/5. Golden fried with a crisp coating that stayed crunchy. Honestly good enough without sauce, which is usually the sign of good fried fish. The sauce added another layer, but the seasoning already carried the dish well. Now let's talk about the Barney's Soul Rolls. 5/5. The menu and reviews describe these like Thanksgiving stuffed into a crispy roll with greens, yams, and mac and cheese. We bit into these and immediately started singing gospel music. I'm talking choir stand energy. These were ridiculous in the best way possible. Crispy outside, rich and savory inside, sweet from the yams, creamy from the mac and cheese. Every bite tasted like somebody's auntie cooked with a soundtrack playing in the background. Easily the best thing we had. Breakfast at Barney's understands the assignment. Big portions, stylish atmosphere, strong brunch energy, and food designed to make people talk. Some items were stronger than others, but the experience as a whole delivered. If you go: * Share the pancakes unless you're entering a competitive eating contest * Order the Soul Rolls immediately * Don't expect the potatoes to save your life * Come hungry * Come prepared for a lively crowd * Bring people who enjoy the experience as much as the food Atlanta has plenty of brunch spots trying to look important. Breakfast at Barney's feels like one that genuinely enjoys being alive.
