Close up of hu tieu: it comes with quail eggs!
Tiffany V.

Came to specifically try out their new hủ tiếu offering on the menu! The broth was super flavorful from the fried bits of pork fat and garlic. The portion of noodles was VERY generous. It also came with two quail eggs, which was a pleasant surprise. Cost was $14.99, and you can also order it without the soup for a dry noodle dish. Service was friendly and chatty! Viet-owned business that is well loved and patronized by the community. Very clean and highly decorative space with fluctuating volume levels from the ongoing pedestrian traffic.

Lovely place to meet a friend for lunch or tea. Just like always, I want what my friend had. Service was great, atmosphere was cheerful but quiet enough to have a conversation. We'll be back!

Friendly staff and cafe aesthetics and cozy environment. The only bad thing is the parking. It's meant for locals that can walk by and do a quick stop or just once in a while drink place for coffee or a light snack.

Salted egg coffee

My sister drove me to this spot while I was visiting Portland and was talking to her about salted egg coffee. The owner takes a lot of pride in his work and it shows. I enjoyed the extra touches that he puts on the drinks. I highly recommend the salted egg coffee! The coffee is strong, not watered down like some of the popular spots in SoCal, the flavoring is unique.

Rose Milk Tea

I visited Toast La Tea for the first time recently. The parking lot was small but I was able find a spaces. The interior of the shop was small but it was nicely set up. The service was great. I got the rose milk tea with pudding and it was delicious. I loved the Oregon cup design as well. I'll definitely coming back here and I highly recommend that you give them a try.

Vietnamese Creme Brulee Egg Coffee.

Best Vietnamese Egg Coffee. Underrated dishes. Friendly staff bi-lingual. What is there not to like?

Original Milk Tea

Great stop for a mid day tea break. Fast service and great selection of elaborate and classic tea combos. The original milk tea is my go to but they also have great whisked matcha drinks!

Mango Peach Smoothie Oolong Milk Tea

I've been here a couple times and tried a variety of drinks, and they are all really nice. The teas are brewed well and the smoothies have good flavor. The boba isn't a perfect texture but has good flavor. The popcorn chicken was perfect--crispy and well-seasoned. The service here is what's really outstanding to me. They are so friendly and charming. The whole place feels so welcoming and like a solid local spot. I definitely plan on being a regular.

Salted caramel iced coffee, Earlgrey Lavender Milk Tea with boba (25% sweet), House Jasmine Milk Tea with boba (75% sweet)

Love this place! Super cute ambiance. We had the salted caramel Vietnamese iced coffee which was super delicious and also tried the house jasmine milk tea with boba (75% sweet) and the earl grey lavender fresh milk tea with boba (25% sweet), both were sooooo delicious, will definitely come back to try their other coffees and milk teas!!

Caphe Matcha Tiramisu / Matcha Tiramisu Coffee 16oz cup
Megan C.

overall: 4/5 drink: 4.5/5 service: 3/5 ambiance: 3.75/5 it's been YEARS since i have been here at Toast La Tea, and the interior of the cafe and the menu have changed a lot since i last came! i was overjoyed to see that they now sell many different flavors of caphe. i ordered the matcha tiramisu vietnamese coffee and it was delectable. wonderfully strong, and bitter, but also not too sweet but sweet enough that when the ice melts the drink becomes perfect! i also had a sip of my friends' egg coffee and it was also really strong. however, i do prefer the matcha tiramisu instead and would recommend this one! i would pass on the rose milk tea, as it did not taste the same as i remembered years prior.

CaPhe Trung / Egg Yolk Cream Coffee 16oz cup
Justin T.

I've come here several times for their Vietnamese coffee, and they've been great everytime. This time, I got the Caphe Trung, which is their iced coffee with egg yolk cream. If you've never tried it before, it might sound strange, but the combo works well and is quite tasty. I thought the prices were fair for the size of the drink, after all Vietnamese coffee should be sipped on. Overall, I think the coffee here is very good and I was happy with my drink each time.

Popcorn chicken
Jenny N.

Was craving some milk tea while in the area and needed a snack before dinner later. Service - friendly and attentive. Parking - small parking lot but street parking outside of the lot! Mango milk tea with lychee jelly- it was very pretty! I really liked my drink and it hit the spot! Popcorn chicken- note this does take a little longer to cook ~5-10 min. I thought it was great, fun sauce too. Overall- I would come back again! They even had fun beers on the side I would come back to try!

Soursop Green Tea - Tra Mang Cau CaPhe Trung / Egg Yolk Cream Coffee 16oz cup
Y.N N.

Yummy Vietnamese coffee with various flavors and toppings. I recommend their traditional and Muoi cafe. The background is Vietnamese music and sometimes Viet shows. Not an ideal spot to study but good to yap with friends and family. The service is always good and quick, took them less than 5 minutes to deliver my drink.

Any sugar free options?

Yes, you can get tea, without sugar. I posted a photo of the different tea leaves, as a selection of tea you can order. There is also Real Fruit Smoothies, including Avocado…

Last time I went, they were not serving the honey toast dishes. When will the honey toast return?

Honey Toast dishes are back!!! Check out my recent photo.

Any options for "milk" other than cow milk? Like coconut, almond etc? Thanks!

Yes, they have other milks.

How much is the toast?

The pad see ew and green beans also stood out for us. Wish there were more eggplant in the holy basil eggplant dish, as it was so good. Brussels sprouts were good too, but probably wouldn't need to get them or the masala fries again (also good flavor, just not that crisp and the sauce distribution was on the top). The only dish we didn't care for was the rainy Rangoon, but I enjoyed trying it all. Overall, amazing flavor, and will definitely be back, but wish portions were a bit heftier- though, between our party or 8, 4 apps and 4 mains were good enough.

Since it was my first time, I asked the staff for a recommendation. They suggested the bibimbap and mentioned it was on the spicy side, which I was totally okay with. While their cocktails looked really tempting, I ended up getting a Mexican Coke, and I loved that they had it. The bibimbap was absolutely delicious. It had so many different flavors and textures, and somehow they all worked perfectly together. The waiter also suggested mixing everything together before taking the first bite, which I really appreciated. The ambiance was super cute, with a cozy little tiki-bar vibe inside, and they also have a few outdoor tables. The service was exceptional throughout. This is an easy 5-star review from me.

After I read reviews about Portland's Chinatown, I searched for a dimsum place outside of Chinatown and found Jade Rabbit I liked the name of the place and saw that they had two kinds of rabbit-shaped dimsum! Another cool thing is that their menu is vegan... that means that I don't have to worry about dairy products that give me pain. We found free street parking about a half a block away and waited for Jade Rabbit to open at 11am. We didn't have reservations, but we're seated immediately. The decor was great! I enjoyed looking at all of the Rabbit figurines! The furniture was colorful and the convenient restroom had interesting decorations, too! The service was okay. Some items were not available and our server recited the list that included chow funn. Shucks! She came back later and said that the chow funn was, in fact, available... yay! Our server seemed a bit nervous as her hand shook and placed the special menu upside-down... LOL! We won't bite you! She recommended the Ube Jam drink - it was made with coconut cream... yes! The chow funn was a bit bland. We added some soy sauce. The Puto Pao Bunny Bao had an unusual flavor - maybe the brown sugar can be omitted because the black garlic and vegan pork might be fine without it? The Jade Rabbit Dumplings also could be more savory. Something was off... and the filling was a bit sparse. Anyway, maybe we could have ordered better, but we got what we wanted! Thank you for the cute food! Note: 22 percent is added to the bill - so no need to tip.

Omnivore friends definitely love the ayam goreng berempah aka the Malaysian fried chicken. We ordered chicken wings, potstickers, chicken lo mein, and shrimp fried rice. We picked up the food and when we got home we noticed that the food was very bland, as well as no accompanying sauces. We went back out to the store and got soy sauce & sriracha. We came home to cold food, but nonetheless we ate. My partner wanted to give a bad review but I asked him to delete it, to give the benefit of the doubt. Welp that's when the trouble began! Starting around 11p until the next day all our stomachs were torn up badly. We did not sleep well at all due to this. When the restaurant opened I called to speak with someone about it.
