Staff are friendly and it's a great place just to do some work or relax. Drinks are pretty consistent so it's definitely a solid spot when you are craving boba. The only big downside to this place is the parking as there's very limited parking space, especially during the peak times. Still, a place i'd come back to! read more

This Ding Tea is in the hearts of Lents. You might have driven past and missed them, as their signs face the back of traffic. But it's worth stopping by. I enjoy the drinks here - most recently I got a matcha milk tea with boba and a hazelnut milk tea with boba. Both tasted good, and as usual it's nice to be able to adjust the ice and sweetness of the drink. The menu is pretty large so I'd love to keep coming back and trying new things. We got taro milk tea x 1 with mango jelly and crystal boba, light ice and 75% sugar. Then oolong milk tea x 3 with crystal boba, aloe vera jelly, 50% sugar and light ice. I've tried their hokkaido oolong before but this was in SoCal and those two were yummy too (caramel and toffee flavor). I've searched far and wide the various boba spots in the lands of Oregon... And I found an oasis at Ding Tea. This is a familiar spot from California. I enjoyed the green milk tea with boba. I would say the drink quality is very yummy. The boba consistency is chewy, but not like boogers. Overall, I would say the drink is higher quality than the other Oregon boba spots. Not really much to say about Ding Tea. It was good, staff were friendly and informative, space and decor were decent. Prices were on the high side IMO. Ordered the Bobo Latte, which was fantastic. I loved the brown sugar boba pearls...they were cooked to a perfectly consistency that had a nice balance of being chewy and soft. Ding Tea had a light opening prior to yesterday's Grand Opening and wow! --- I am just as impressed as I did the first time. I've been to several bubble tea joints in Portland and I have to say, that Ding Tea is by far my new favorite bubble tea place in Portland! Yesterday's wait in line for grand opening was definitely worth the wait. So far, I've tasted three different flavors which I highly recommend; Taro Milk Tea, Winter Melon Milk Tea and the Monster Special ... thinking about it makes me drool. I am thinking of getting the Classic Milk Tea next time but I'm certainly up for trying everything on the menu. I wanted to add on, that my bf (someone who's quite picky about his bubble tea) was also very impressed with his drink that he got at Ding Tea. I recently asked him which Taro Milk Tea he preferred in comparison to a popular bubble tea place in Beaverton and says without hesitation that he'd prefer to drink Ding Tea's. Ding Tea is currently only open to friends and family. I was lucky enough to get invited on in to try some of their delicious drinks! I got to try the Thai milk tea, matcha green tea, winter melon milk tea and the lychee yakult! I got them all over ice. Each drink was super flavorful and delicious! My favorite was the winter melon milk tea with the grass jelly. It was super refreshing and had the perfect amount of sweetness and I wanted a couple more cups after having a taste of that! Ding Tea lets you customize the sweetness level of your drinks! So make sure to let them know how you would like it! The shop is super cute! A lot of different signs and murals on the wall for photo opportunities! They even have a fun light up sign that you can hold your drink in front of to take pictures by! This Ding Tea has super nice aesthetics! I'm personally not a big fan of the Ding Tea chain, since every time I've had it in California, my body didn't feel too good after drinking the tea. However, I think the PDX Ding Tea here is not too bad. I was here for the soft opening and got the matcha latte with grass jelly. The drink was alright, very mediocre, since the matcha wasn't super strong- felt like the milk diluted the drink. I tried my friend's drinks, and they were not bad at all! This is the first time I tried this place and it was a bit overrated in my mind. We ordered for delivery and this might add on a different perspective. I have ordered the Hokkaido Oolong Milk Tea, my friends ordered oolong Milktea and Monster Boba Latte. They came in all look kinda similar and the milk foam of the Monster one is almost gone. All the milk tea came quite light and not enough flavor and that's our overall reactions. Came in at 8:20pm today, left with two messed-up drinks that has me disappointed in this location- considering I've gone here for years now for consistently made drinks. The first thing I ordered was a matcha milk tea: a regular favorite of mine. What I got was a watery, soapy-tasting drink with old golden boba that lacked chewiness. I also got a Hokkaido oolong milk tea that had little to no oolong flavor and an odd Hokkaido taste. There was seemingly only one employee working at the front, having to handle the register as well as make drinks. If this was the case, management should have (at least) one more person to assist with drink-making and cleaning up for closing; the employee tonight reached a point where they were bringing a drink to the back and stirring it to do something in the back at the same time. Considering I brought a friend here to show them what Ding Tea is like, I will definitely reconsider coming here for boba in the future. A massive disappointment all around. read more

Yumm. I came to this place by word of mouth. So many boba places have been opening up in the area recently that I've been lagging behind on trying the new spots. The golden boba helps distinguish the place from others. The boba is chewy, sweet, and yummy, and the boba at half sugar is just sweet enough. I got the original milk tea and my partner got the oolong milk tea. Honestly, I don't think it's much different from other great boba shops, but I love having more options. ding tea is one of my top 3 boba places and my to go boba shop when im in portland. all there drinks ive tried were really good, havent had one where i didnt like. the staff is nice and service is quick, especially when i order 10+ drinks when im with family! theres plenty of seats inside the shop and lots of cute wall decors and teddy bears you can takes pics with. the only downside of this boba shop is its location and ease to find parking. if you're lucky you'll find street parking or the tiny parking lot around the shop. otherwise, you would park across the street and need to cut through a busy one way street. read more

Came here on a Saturday afternoon after running errands and ordered the Hokkaido Oolong Milk Tea with Golden Boba, it was so good I forgot to take a Yelp photo for it! You can make modifications to your drink in regards to how sweet you want your drink and how much ice you want in it which is always a bonus. The boba was fresh and extra chewy. I have actually never heard of Ding Tea until one was opening in Portland. Portland has such a limited amount of bubble tea so whenever one opens, I definitely need to go and after finally trying it, I would have to say it's one of the best boba spots in Portland! I get the brown sugar with egg pudding and boba, full sweetness if I know I'm gonna take awhile to finish it because once the ice melts, the drink doesn't taste watered down but if you're going to drink it right away, I would recommend going down on the sweetness level. I also like the winter melon milk tea! Their taro exceeds all others! Very smooth and creamy. I am usually very picky when it comes to taro and have not found one that I liked in Portland until now. Was happy to get to try this place after reading so much about it. Parking is available around the store on the street or in the lot across the road. The shop itself is super cute and much smaller than I had thought it was. We went on a Saturday at 12:30 and it was busy but in no way crazy. While the other people in my party they were told the options for the tea, sweetness and ice, but I wasn't and ended up with full sweetness and less ice. Now I know for the matcha latte less sweet is good. I can't say anything to the add ins because I just had the plain latte. I will most like go visit again and be more adventurous. However, after improved relations between the Taiwanese government, the local Chinese community, and the city of Portland, more and more Taiwan-based franchises/businesses are appearing, including Ding Tea. Regarding quality of drinks, they are all quite excellent. Those who can handle high levels of dairy should definitely go for the monster with MAX everything (sugar, ice, etc.) especially since it is their signature drink. Something less hardcore and easier on the stomach is the mango green tea or any of the Yakult (yogurt options). Employees do an excellent job of tailoring drinks to your needs in terms of sugar and ice levels. Don't feel bad about these adjustments--it is perfectly acceptable and is part of the "boba culture" that blew up in Taiwan several years ago. read more

First off... I have never in all my life seen a place this packed and poppin' in all my life. I would imagine this is what black Friday at Walmart looks like, because it was CRAZZZY. We rode our bikes in the nice (40deg) weather and got here to warm up with a cold drink. It was a huge line, but they worked through it fast. That said it was a 25 minute line, but I had my heart set on some Taro yo! It took another 15 minutes to get our drinks. The taro was sweet at full sweetness, but I am going to be real, it just tastes like capt crunch to me, so i like this sweet. I also went with the egg pudding (think like a creme brulee or even a flan) and this was off the charts... I mean this was, amazing... just get it! Then we did a standard 'house special' milk tea with boba, the staple, and it was amazing and fresh. They date and time all the brewed items to insure freshness and it really shows. I ordered 70% sweetness Oolong MT: still very sweet, I will get 50% next time. I didn't love the taste... it didn't have a tea flavor at all which was disappointing. But the tapioca is perfect texture (firm with good chewy). My friend ordered 70% sweetness Winter Melon MT which tasted more like an oolong tea than mine. I wanted to drink her's more than mine. I actually work at a Ding Tea in Washington so I was really excited to try it out here! Very cute place and makes for a nice hang out spot for a small group. I'm glad to know that the taste is consistent among the stores. I got my usual, Signature milk tea half sweet with golden boba. It was practically spot on with how I make my own drinks so I was super happy! They offer generous portions of boba here and the boba tasted fresh as it should be. I recommend getting drinks less sweet as 100% sweetness for some drinks is too sweet, especially wintermelon. The crystal boba is an agar jelly for those that don't know, and it's got a more crunchy jelly texture - not like tapioca at all. Only thing here is that I don't think there are enough workers, so it takes some time for the drinks to be made. *For those wanting a flavored tea, using green tea has a more strong taste because of the nature of the tea. If you're looking for something smoother get the black tea. *The Thai milk tea is not Thai iced tea also so don't get it confused! *Difference in yogurt and yakult drinks should be that the yogurt includes creamer powder and yakult does not. read more

Another boba tea shop that has opened up in the Portland area. Its located off Woodstock near the 205 ramp. The place is not that large and has a few tables to sit. The menu is similar to most boba shops. I liked that you can adjust the sugar and ice level in the drink. As my first time here, I opted to try their signature milk tea with the golden boba and 30% sweet and 30% ice. The milk tea was pretty good, slightly a little sweet for me. The golden boba is definitely a lot chewier than the normal boba. If you like it super chewy, this is for you. The next time I'm in the area I will try the yogurt milk tea as I haven't had that in awhile. read more
