I went here for lunch with a friend and was absolutely delighted by the atmosphere, the bar, the menu options and the food. I was surprised and delighted to discover such an innovative menu (NOT just traditional English/Irish selections!) and the food was served quickly. Going in the middle of the day seems to be the solution for the other Yelp reviewers complaining about how crowded it is or how hard it is to get a table - this place is much smaller than I would have thought. Sorry I didn't post this last summer when I actually wrote it, but I do want you to know that I still dream about the Kickin' the Dixie burger. They are innovative and delicious. Not across the board, but pretty close. The beer selection is outstanding. So - last year's review - We go to Toad Hall on Thursdays for Trivia night . Most nights we get there early for dinner and a booth. Corey is the bartender and Jesse is the waitstaff on Thursdays. The beer selection is great and turns over quickly. My current favorite is the Lagunitas Little Sumpin Sumpin Ale. So the beer is great, but the food is pretty awesome. The menu changes periodically, but the burgers are amazing. I've had a few, but last week it was Kickin' the Dixie - Hamburger with pimiento cheese, fried green tomato, carmelized onion and bread and butter pickle. I took half home and ate it cold for lunch the next day- still awesome. Another favorite is the Curry-nel - a curry chicken sandwich that is DELISH! The french fries are hand cut and the tater tots are my husband's favorite. The service on Thursdays is slower than I'd like- we try to get there early so we can eat before trivia, but it's often difficult to get our food and eat before the game begins. I finally made it down to Toad Hall today for lunch. There wasn't much of a crowd and I was seated right away. Toad Hall hasn't changed the interior since it was Schillings, which made me happy because I love the interior. The bartender/waitress was very great. Prompt and helpful, but not too invasive. I ordered the bruschetta as a starter and the B.E.L.T for my meal. The bruschetta was disappointing. I knew I was taking a chance ordering an Italian staple in a pub and was about as good as I expected. Next time I will try another app, better suited for a pub. The B.E.L.T. was fabulous. Adding egg to a BLT was the best idea ever. I'm totally stealing the idea for my BLT's at home. I chose to get tater tots with my sandwich. They were totally fab. Crispy, well flavored and delicious. I'm greatly looking forward to my next meal at Toad Hall. They had an awesome menu with lots of tempting options. I'll just avoid the bruschetta next time! read more

I've been here several times. It looks like an Irish Pub inside. You seat yourself. Every time I've been there, the bartender also acts as the server. This is why I give it 4 instead of 5. It was a little busier the last time we stopped by and the service took longer than I'd prefer, and the bartender was obviously preoccupied trying to serve everyone eating and drinking. What's unexpected is the menu. First, it's HUGE. It's also got a funky flair. There are several Asian inspired items as well as your typical pub food. I've tried sandwiches, wraps, and salads. I've never been disappointed. They have a full bar and several beers on tap. All and all, a cute place to stop for dinner or a drink if you're looking for something that has more than your usual pub food and a cute atmosphere. read more

Ok so this is a bar with a pretty awesome menu. They've e got quite a few interesting descriptions that make the menu fun. Everything I've had so far is spot on and they free pour a really tasty drink. The ambiance is warm and friendly. Its hasn't been very busy when I've come - I dont get that!. There are abour 16 beers on tab and a alot more in bottles. There's a bar tender that seems to know each in detail so you are in good hands if your thing is specialty beer. read more

They rotate their beer selection on a regular basis so you can always find a gem that doesn't seem to be located anywhere else however you better get it while you can as it may not be there for your next trip. The wife and I went to Toad Hall a while back for a night out during the week. It was not very busy so we had a drink at the bar before we sat down for dinner. My cocktail was prepared perfectly without the use of jiggers. I prefer a tasty drink to a strong one, so I was impressed at the bartenders skill. He also guided my wife around a wide selection of ciders and settled on one that she enjoyed over and over! I had the Grilled Cheese Cheeseburger. It is a cheeseburger in which the buns are two grilled cheeses... Worth the price of admission (there is no cover, just an expression). I'm not sure how I've forgotten to review this place!! It's our staple restaurant in Racine. It's got a TON of beers, there is really something for everyong. Corey and Jesse both know their beers and can recommend anything to anyone! And their food.....oh my goodness! I have never had a bad meal here. The cheese curds are the best I've ever had ANYWHERE. Never greasy, always consistent. They have a burger for everyone, even vegetarians and you can swap out the burger for chicken for an extra $1. Top favorites are the NWA burger, the meatloaf (on a sandwich or as an entree), the Breakfast Burger and the Chili over noodles is awesome comfort food! My husband swears by the gyro and the Ryan Express. And if you're still hungry after that, they have indoor s'mores! So fun!!! Located right downtown, you're in walking distance of so much! We have been coming here for years... and keep coming back! Great bar atmosphere with restaurant quality food! 5 star in my book. It's easy to feel at home here. They offer a FULL menu with many delicious choices for your palate. The sound track is so good, I was dancing in my seat. One of the best places to eat in racine imho. The menu is an entertaining read and I feel like I would have to come back many times to try all that is good. The joint is a little dark but that's the look they were going for. The only area they fall short is in the "seafood" items on the menu. We love the vibe and have been here several times but each time we've had to wait almost half an hour just to order food, not to mention be served. There has rarely been a waitress working, usually the bartender is expected to do it all. This last time we waited so long to order that we gave up and left. What a find... After walking out of Butcher & Barrel because we litterally couldn't get any attention from the staff. Jamie & Cory took great care of us with recommended entree's. If you are looking for Irish food, you will be very disappointed. The place is under new ownership and the wonderful Irish menu has been replaced with all american fare. The American food tastes fine, however when one goes to an Irish pub, one expects a traditional pub menu. Shillings, you used to be wonderful when you opened, but sorry, I will not be back. read more
