Visiting the area with children and grandchildren we were looking for a local (non-chain) place to eat as we walked the area. Thew the dart on the map and decided to check the place out. The menu consists of more that just typical bar food, so we were able to find items to satisfy our individual taste buds, including the pickiest of the little ones. The Tavern burger was reportedly good from one of our group members, I enjoyed the Cheesesteak sandwich along with the Cheese Squares. The littles did not complain about the chicken tenders. The wait was a little bit long but I couldn't see how busy they were inside . My wife order the shrimp sandwich and I ordered the Peruvian steak sandwich. Both with sides of fries. My wife said the shrimp sandwich was an eight out of 10. Pretty good. Best part was definitely the buns felt fresh. The steak sandwich for me was a bit bland. The sauce was the star. I feel like the sauce was not there would be a pretty bland sandwich steak did not have any flavor unfortunately but still a decent sandwich. Stopped here on the 4th of July after brunch for drinks. Arrived around 11:00am and our group of 6 decided to belly up to the bar. I was happy to there was a few N/A options to pick from (sometimes there's none). I went with some type of local breweries n/a. The bartender was nice and offered me a glass to pour it in. Happy Hour is Monday - Friday 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm so the appetizers were 1/2 price The Bucket of Balls appetizer comes with marinara and BBQ sauce and both were nice. I bet a buttermilk ranch and bbq sauce duo would be good. That may be good mixed together for a signature sauce as well. Hmmmm Our table ordered the Quesadilla (1/2 price), Tavern Patty Melt with fries, Build It Smash Burger with fries, Carne Asada Sandwich with a second to-go both with fries. We asked for two of us asked for mayo on the side (we weren't advised of the upsell on mayo until the check came and there was a $1 charge). I realized that I had requested the incorrect to go sandwich and went to ask if I could change it and the our server tried it had already been sent to the kitchen. This being before we got our food. She said she would let the kitchen know and if needed we should be able to change it. But we left it and all was OK. Except, it was for a to-go to be made before we left. Our food arrived at our table hot and looked, smelled and was delicious. Perfect serving size to fill one up. It was a good amount of food for the price. As this is my opinion only not only do I feel it is safer for a lady, but I remember many times being pregnant and having to walk further. I town kicking off a fishing trip and ended up reeling in a great find at Tavern on 6th! Stopped in just for cocktails while we debated dinner options--and, spoiler alert, we ended up staying and already planned our next visit. The Wisconsin Old Fashioned (sweet, of course) hit all the right notes--smooth, balanced, and exactly what you'd hope for in this neck of the woods. We couldn't resist the shareables: The buffalo chicken egg rolls were perfectly crisp with just the right ratio of shell to spicy, creamy filling. The "bucket of balls" (yes, that's really the name and yes, you should order them) were melt-in-your-mouth tender, with a zesty marinara that had us shamelessly dipping everything in reach. And the steak quesadilla? Great, but the salsa stole the show--deep, smoky flavor that made us consider asking for a jar to go. Special shoutout to our waitress, Lainy, who was an absolute gem--super friendly, incredibly attentive, and spot-on with her recommendations. Let me tell you why Kenosha needed this bar. It's the perfect blend of classy with relaxed. The midway point between Kenosha's crusty sports bars and high end hotel lounges. Where bartenders actually know what a liqueur is and how to make a decent craft cocktail, but without the frills and high prices of Apis. Where you'll see a familiar face, but not in the depressing way of the slumped over regulars who seem to have become fused into the bar at Sunnyside. It's friendly, welcoming, and cozy--but not sloppy. It's about time Kenosha had this. Certain whiny reviewers below, who have clearly NOT grown up, should stick to Fec's Place. read more

A brand new, very nice bar downtown. They have put a lot of time and money to really make the place look nice. They had a good cocktail selection along with beers available. They also have some local beers on tap. The bartender Andy is one of the best in town. His knowledge of cocktails and his customer service is phenomenal. Also, they have two state of the art golf simulators on the 2nd floor that you can reserve. A group of us rented it for a couple hours and had a blast! Went there two weeks in a row for a weekday evening cocktail in their outside seating area. The first time our waitress was very attentive for a while and then disappeared. We ordered a second round which never showed up for over a half hour. As we were getting ready to go inside and see what the delay was, my wife noticed our waitress inside, she glanced out at us and pulled over another waitress and was talking to her. The other waitress finally came out, all apologetic, with our round of drinks. Our original waitress was never to be seen again. Just crappy service. The second time we went back, we sat outside and no one over came to wait on us. We had to go inside to order. No one ever checked on us to see if we wanted another drink or even order food. Their service is just garbage. Now I realize why everyone was sitting at Rustic Road right next door. Because their service kicks the crap out of Tavern on Sixth. Stay away. This bar is so nice, they redid the inside and it's absolutely gorgeous. It's got that old fashioned style with all new finishes. They also have virtual golf upstairs which is nice for me because my husband can keep himself entertained while I hang out at the bar or patio. The drinks were excellent, they aren't serving food yet but per the manager they will be in about a month. Once they do provided their food is good, this might be one of our new hangout places downtown. I highly recommend you go and see for yourself how nice it is, and any of their drinks are great!
