[[HIGHLIGHT]]Upon approaching we immediately see there is seating outside both in front and to the side as well an outside bar on the side.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Walking up to the front we see the whole front are was open. Very nice, but a little chilly this evening and there were no other seating on the inside for our group of 4. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's decorated nicely with flowers as well along the front and I love that they are pet friendly and have a water bowl and treats to give them when visiting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We waited quite some time for service and were actually thinking about getting up and leaving about 20 minutes into sitting there. When our waitress Gabi came over she repeatedly replied back with this wrong requests for one of the orders, but was perfect with the others. She smiled a lot with a great attitude. Three of us ordered water and one rootbeer. Love that they recycle the alcohol bottles for water bottles for the tables. Great idea! we started with a bucket of balls. Happy Hour is Monday - Friday 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm so the appetizers were 1/2 price The Bucket of Balls appetizer comes with marinara and BBQ sauce and both were nice. I bet a buttermilk ranch and bbq sauce duo would be good. That may be good mixed together for a signature sauce as well. Hmmmm Our table ordered the Quesadilla (1/2 price), Tavern Patty Melt with fries, Build It Smash Burger with fries, Carne Asada Sandwich with a second to-go both with fries. We asked for two of us asked for mayo on the side (we weren't advised of the upsell on mayo until the check came and there was a $1 charge). I realized that I had requested the incorrect to go sandwich and went to ask if I could change it and the our server tried it had already been sent to the kitchen. This being before we got our food. She said she would let the kitchen know and if needed we should be able to change it. But we left it and all was OK. Except, it was for a to-go to be made before we left. Our food arrived at our table hot and looked, smelled and was delicious. Perfect serving size to fill one up. It was a good amount of food for the price. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was loud as a lot of people were talking and it was a bit chilly for those southern girls here for a visit and my mom who is always cold, but I felt the breeze was nice plus that open space was nice for a photo[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] (that Tree was kind enough to take for us... many thanks!). [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is seating in the front, at the bar, across from the bar and a circle booth on the other side of the bar. Many televisions for watching sports and gaming in the back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Kudos to this owner for having a woman's bathroom before the men's. As this is my opinion only not only do I feel it is safer for a lady, but I remember many times being pregnant and having to walk further. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The condiments, salt shaker was a bit dirty, pepper seemed low as well as the ketchup. The display is nice and not cluttered.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Truly was a great experience amongst the small issues in the beginning.

First time for a delicious lunch here at Tavern on 6th. My Philly was so good and the slaw was surprisingly delish!!! Our server was awesome and always checking from us if not coming by, was always looking over by us. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is always nice and clean and the staff courteous.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] One of our favorite places in town!

Fun screen golf, drinks and food for team outing. Fun pumpkin martini to drink. Had a good time.

    Old Fashioned

I town kicking off a fishing trip and ended up reeling in a great find at Tavern on 6th! Stopped in just for cocktails while we debated dinner options--and, spoiler alert, we ended up staying and already planned our next visit. The Wisconsin Old Fashioned (sweet, of course) hit all the right notes--smooth, balanced, and exactly what you'd hope for in this neck of the woods. We couldn't resist the shareables: The buffalo chicken egg rolls were perfectly crisp with just the right ratio of shell to spicy, creamy filling. The "bucket of balls" (yes, that's really the name and yes, you should order them) were melt-in-your-mouth tender, with a zesty marinara that had us shamelessly dipping everything in reach. And the steak quesadilla? Great, but the salsa stole the show--deep, smoky flavor that made us consider asking for a jar to go. Special shoutout to our waitress, Lainy, who was an absolute gem--super friendly, incredibly attentive, and spot-on with her recommendations. She definitely added to the vibe and made the visit even better. Bottom line: this place is going on the "must stop" list for all future Kenosha runs. Whether you're casting a line or just cruising through, make time for this gem!

Let me tell you why Kenosha needed this bar. It's the perfect blend of classy with relaxed. The midway point between Kenosha's crusty sports bars and high end hotel lounges. Where bartenders actually know what a liqueur is and how to make a decent craft cocktail, but without the frills and high prices of Apis. Where you'll see a familiar face, but not in the depressing way of the slumped over regulars who seem to have become fused into the bar at Sunnyside. It's friendly, welcoming, and cozy--but not sloppy. It's about time Kenosha had this. Certain whiny reviewers below, who have clearly NOT grown up, should stick to Fec's Place.

Hanging out at Tavern on 6th. Great place to have a beer and some great food. Smash-burgers are great. Watching WM Phoenix Open

It was a weeknight, but the street we were driving up to get here was a little dark and run down. But don't let that deter you. They have a nice sized parking lot for their location. Then we walked inside and found a narrow room with a bar running the length of one long wall and counter height tables and chairs perpendicular to the opposite wall. They really jammed in as much as they could in the space that they have. The ambience was dark and moody. They were playing hard rock and the bar had a couple of regulars sitting inside. At the end of the bar at the far end, was a cubicle of a kitchen. That's where the magic happens. Their menu is simple: appetizers, burgers, and build your own burgers. That's it. We all built our own burgers and they have a LOT of options. However, the build your own may start at $9, but each topping adds to the cost. But who cares? The burgers were phenomenal! Their website clearly states, "Best burgers, ever." And they're not wrong. The burgers were juicy, flavorful, and delicious. Probably one of the best burgers I have ever had. And everything is made in this tiny area at the end of the bar. We were the only people in the place after about 20 minutes, but again, who cares. The staff were extremely friendly. Their playful banter and bickering when they cleaned up was hilarious to listen to, and they were lovely to talk to as well. One of our group wanted to pick up some Spotted Cow beer (you can't get it in Illinois) and asked about a place to get it nearby. They suggested Shenanigan's with a drive-through just a couple blocks away. We have to make another trek back. They are awesome and their burgers are great, too!

Hence, we almost always visit Tenuta's because there isn't quite anything like it by me. But that's a different review... I say all that to say, after getting Italian meatballs, cookies, and Cannolis from Tenuta's, you will immediately notice Ron's Place, right across the street!! They have a local and dedicated following. Yes, you will see Green Bay Packers decorations and people in Packers clothing, gasp!! But!! Their burgers are incredible and so are the cheese curds. They are also known for their Long Island teas but it's kinda early for me when I come here. Check out my pics - I always get the cheese curds, chicken strips, I've switched it up from time to time with my burger selection. Today, we got the extreme burger and it's definitely shareable, it's a gigantic double patty cheeseburger (I selected American cheese). Great service, cool & local Vibes, diners are usually talking shop, the people sitting next to you will be catching up and talkin about Jack and Diane. You can look directly into the open kitchen and see them preparing the great plates of food. Look at the pics on the wall and you will see a pic of McMahon in Packer uniform - the Packers won the Super Bowl that year...sigh...

The Brat Stop is the kind of place dive bar dreams are made of. Your options are to sit at the bar (recommended) or one of the booths in the cavernous restaurant areas. Wisconsin comfort food. I had the cheese curds with dipping sauce, which were really good. I have never had fried cheese curds before so I have nothing to compare them to but I thought they were yummy. I had the BBQ brat with sauerkraut and German potato salad. All fantastic ... maybe a little overpriced for what you get ... but really good. I didn't necessarily leave feeling full for $20 but enjoyed my food. They have craft beer on draft from Wisconsin and Illinois. There is also a giant shop attached with local beer, local food products, apparel and of course a really long case full of Wisconsin cheese. Again ... overpriced but it saved me a stop at the Cheese Castle nearby. Overall, this place is the perfect stop off the highway, right in between Chicago and Milwaukee.
