Stopped in here for quick bite on the way home and ate at the bar. This place is quite huge, with an additional dog friendly outdoor patio. They serve breakfast, starting at 8:00 a.m., and their lunch/dinner menu offers a great selection of starters, wraps, burgers, pizza, chicken, fish and more. My husband had the fried shrimp dinner, and I had the bbq ribs. My husband enjoyed his shrimp, saying the outside was perfectly crispy while the shrimp stayed nice and tender. My ribs were fantastic. The sauce was amazing and the meat truly fell of the bone. Route 20 is easy on/easy off the freeway, which makes it convenient if you are looking for a great place to eat and drink while heading in either direction. The food here was decent good, and I surveyed everyone in our group of six and they said the same. My cheeseburger was a little underwhelming as I asked for medium and it was delivered medium well. However, the overall food experience was good. The atmosphere is really fun and I'm sure that the evenings are more festive. We came on Sunday around 1pm and it was fairly subdued. When we walked in we were seated immediately. It was nice not to have to wait. Our waitress was sweet and took our drink order very quickly. Their menu is okay, the usual breakfast food. Their western omelet would be better if they added jalapeños. The fruit bowl is large but too much cantaloupe. the biscuits and gravy was subpar- not a lot of flavor. It was quiet in there so we were able to have a good conversation. They have a patio in the back so you could eat outside also which is nice. Very expensive here though. I work in the area and had never tried Route 20, so I ordered takeout lunch today. Boy, was I disappointed!! The vegetable wrap I ordered was soggy with browning veggies. According to their website: VEGETABLE WRAP spinach tortilla loaded with lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, green peppers & mushrooms, topped with feta cheese & Italian dressing ​8 There was probably 2 mushrooms per 1/2 wrap and almost no tomato. Second visit to Route 20, this time for breakfast. Not too sure what to expect for breakfast, on my last visit we had dinner. Great choices on their breakfast menu. Everything from eggs, skillets, omelettes, their excellent fried chicken, pancakes and waffles. The whole shebang. Service was great. Coffee was hot. Full bar of course. Lots of food on your plate. Fair prices. Time to update the menus or menu system though. Go digital. Put the QR code on a table tent and you can update menu prices instantly. Or, print new menus. It's been quite some time that the "sign" has been on the door walking in. Everyone wants to see what they're paying for a meal weather they can afford it or not. I'll still come back for sure. Would recommend the party room! Had a birthday party there on Saturday night and loved the room, atmosphere and taco bar was good. Room had garage doors that opened to the patio which was fine and made for a great time! Found the bartenders a little dismissive but management was attentive and very willing to please. She never came by to check on us to see if we were doing alright-and when it came time for the check she just threw it down on the table and left-the hostess was nice enough to grab us a box as she went to sit with some guests on the other side of the restaurant! Ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich with coleslaw. They didn't bring the coleslaw, but brought fries. The fries were barely cooked frozen fries. The sandwich was good. My friend ordered the chicken tenders with coleslaw. The tenders were delicious, but the coleslaw must've been a week old. The top of it was dark, like it had been refrigerated a few days. It was really soggy and unedible. Guitar strings, the onion rings, were good, but 50% of them were just crumbs. Won't go back! read more

So like idiots hubby and I order.... I got the philly with a baked potato ate the potato, took one bite out of my sandwich and I find a hair in it. I didn't eat it but they still charged me 1/2 price ughhh will not be back. Our young server was sweet but she was .30 off on our change! Still tipped her. They used to serve a fabulous Friday baked cod. Not anymore. Wasn't even on the menu so waitress asked about it. While they did make it for us, it was AWFUL. New cooks. The cod used to be served baked, plain, with a hot butter draw. Now it's caked with seasoning, and they baked it with a bunch of sliced lemons on it, which trashed the food. Lemons for fish is supposed to be optional and on the side. All the juice from those lemons soaked into the fish and it was dreadful. Don't waste your money. No more Friday Fish Fry there for us and we've been going there for years. Had a newly hired waitress, who gave us breakfast menus at dinner time, and was loud and obnoxious, so it will be a very long time before we go there for anything. Our salesman took us here because he wanted us to try a local beer called "Spotted Cow." We were pleasantly greeted upon arriving. And also seated right away. Customer service here was super kind and helpful. The establishment appears to be clean and was decorated with local sports decor as well as Halloween decor. Was pretty neat. Beers came out fast, cold, and delicious. Our server was very kind and helpful with items on the menu. Appetizers came out rather fast. As well as hot and tasty. Not too long after, the entrees came out....well, except for mine. I ordered the chicken and waffles. And although it took forever. Or server did a really good job of keeping me abreast on what was going on. I guess they had an issue with the waffle iron. The server kept coming by and was very apologetic. No problems here. I stopped here for a quick lunch on my way to Chicago around 12:30pm on a Saturday. It's a really big place with a nice stage and a second floor overlooking the stage, which I'm sure is great when they have live music. I got the BBQ pork nachos and they were okay, but nothing to right home about. The pork itself was pretty good but the rest of the ingredients were clearly store bought and not fresh/homemade which was disappointing. They had a sign on the door notifying customers that they're charging higher prices due to the current price of meat which was understandable, and they only ended up charging me a dollar extra for my nachos. Two of the other people I was with ordered the fried chicken sandwich and really enjoyed it, so I think they made the better choice. Although, they have the nachos starred as one of their signature items, so I was expecting more. I feel like this place would be really fun on a Friday night, but if you're just looking for food, I would try somewhere else. read more

Food A+ , service A+, atmosphere A+ and music with or without a band performing A+!! The improvements they have made and are making are spectacular .i hands down recommend coming here . If you're hungry and you approach the sign for Gas & Food (Kwik Pick, McD, BK, Petro, Subway & Culver's) but nothing sounds appealing, take your chances and get off the exit. Unfortunately, the green food sign does not include this awesome place. Unless the owner gets his name on there, it is easily overlooked by people passing through on 94. Nothing inside or outside the restaurant resembles or smells like an Outhouse. Things may be different on the nights when crowds gather to support their band. I don't know for sure, I've never been and don't ever plan on coming here for that reason. I noticed the sharp, clean, modern design and it looks like a great venue. During the week, the TVs show a mixture of sporting events and advertises upcoming performers. They have a second level balcony area where you can sit around the perimeter overlooking the band or comedian and their fans. Outdoor patio dining is an option. The food was really good. The service was nice. I like the ambiance and think the layout is pretty cool. My only concern is that there are only 2 bathroom stalls which took a long time to flush (hold down) and settle. That tells me it's very likely for the civilized bathroom to turn into a discusting outhouse/port-a-potty environment anytime this place gets crowded. read more

Played this place a few times now, and let me tell ya, it's the best stage in Racine. Pro sound, pro lights and a beautiful proscenium makes for great photos and even better vids. I've never had even an odd eye from the staff or owners here, and the nicer the place, the creepier the managements in my experience, so this was a breath of fresh air. I've never eaten here, so I can't speak to that, but I've drank plenty, and the bar is HUGE! They have a bucketful of taps, and ample coolers filled with craft bottles... heaven! The back deck is a great chillin area, and an ideal place to give the old ears a rest. One of the finest additions to our ever-expanding lil burg. read more

My mother loved her chicken n waffles. Both of our meals had large proportions and were moderately priced.
