Service was very good. I had the Quesadilla Burger and it was excellent, very tasty and not too spicy! Unfortunately the tots tasted like stale corn chips. Perhaps they were fried in the oil the chips are made in and it needed changing. Great stop here again the other day! We've been here a few times for mid week lunches and this was the busiest we have ever seen it. Thankfully, their back covered (and heated) patio was open for additional seating. We opted for tacos and egg rolls for lunch and the portions were sizable. The beer and wine were what you expected and $6 and $7 respectively. They don't have a beer menu but the servers know the rundown well. They do charge a bit more for using a card so maybe bring cash if that bothers you. The steak tacos were legit. Great salsas with them. The chips were pretty great so wasn't a huge fan of those. Heard the egg roll was delicious and a lot packed in there. Srrvice was great, even while it was busy. Will definitely be back. read more

My family and I were heading south from Milwaukee on a Friday night and I wanted to pick up a fish fry along the way. Joey's West is a place I had bookmarked and wasn't super far off the highway, so we called in an order to go. I got the lake perch with fries and the rest of my family got plain cheeseburgers with fries. We also got an order of cheese curds to share. Both the cheese curds and the lake perch tasted like the oil they were cooked in hadn't been changed in weeks. It kind of had a burned taste to it. Additionally, the cheese curds were maybe the greasiest ones I've ever had. Both were unappetizing. The burgers seems like they were hand pattied, which is a plus, but were heavily seasoned with something like McCormick steak seasoning. Ironically, the fries had no seasoning or salt on them and could have definitely used some. To a lesser extent I could taste the burned oil on the fries too. read more

I got to check out Joey's West and have to say I was surprised. The exterior is very unassuming. Food: The quality was really good. I did think the portion sizing and the overall quality were great! Service: Our waitress really checked in a lot and was very attentive to our needs. Atmosphere: The inside really matched the vibe and how the staff were. I really felt like the staff wanted our visit to be a good one. Have to say that is great as not all businesses operate this way. Date of visit: 12/1/22 When my boss shockingly suggested a meal out with him and my direct reports (probably in lieu of an in-office gathering where he feared I might spill too much tea), I did some searching around to find a place that fellow Yelpers seemed to like and this place was near the top of the list. It is essentially a townie bar, so adjust your expectations accordingly. But like many other townie bars, they have decent food. My chicken Caesar wrap was excellent and they didn't let me down with the sweet potato fries, either! Bonus points for airing old game shows--I hadn't seen Press Your Luck in years and marveled at how dated it looks all these years later. Really the only thing keeping Joey's West from five stars is service. It was a bit slow and I would have wanted some of the desserts listed on the board, but we weren't asked about it. read more

I stopped by this place for an adult cocktail as I drove past it thinking that I get a new experience in a place that I have never been to. The place is a bar/restaurant which is nothing fancy and just a small town bar. The bar and hi tables were packed for a Saturday around 1pm so the food must be ok because mostly everyone was eating. My service su#ked because I sat at the bar for 5 minutes with the two women bartenders walking past me numerous times chatting with the regulars and changing a garbage can while not acknowledging me at all, no hi I'll be with in a moment, not even a look at me. My cash money is green so I left and took it to the old bar down the street. April down the street acknowledge me as I walked in and got a $10 tip on my drink when I left. The bartenders who completely ignored me lost out on a $10 tip that a bartender down the street got. These two smart bartenders who completely ignored me don't realize that the money easily walks out the door and you loose the sale and the tip so thanks ladies for playing stupid gamed and winning stupid prizes . My hubby and I were on interstate 94 when we got an alert on our phones for a snow squall. We couldn't see, the snow was crazy! We decided it was best to stop and wait it out. Lucky us, we found Joey's! A cute, clean restaurant and bar. Super friendly bartenders Nikki, Nikki and Chip (I think I got their names right). This place has such a great vibe. Just what we needed with being stressed on the road. The food was awesome!! The best prime rib sandwich we have ever had (get it toasted with cheese). The appetizers were all great! Tons of pretzel bites with a tasty cheese dip. The cheese curds were really good with three homemade dips. The lobster egg rolls were amazing and you could tell homemade. Even the fries were a step above. We got the Parmesan fries. We were obviously hungry! Very reasonable prices. You should go. It is a 5 minute drive off the interstate. I wanted to love this place when I walked in on a Sunday afternoon. I mean, I kind of did. It's a cute, clean bar with lots to offer to waste time but the service was dismal at best during our visit. It became quite apparent this is a local's bar and since we were new, we were not given much attention. Jacob and I waited quite a while for the two bartenders to acknowledge us once we sat down. One was playing dice with regulars at the bar, the other was chatting up tables throughout and running orders in between that. Once noticed, we ordered beers and some cheese curds. Both came up fairly quickly and we ordered some bourbon chicken egg rolls and a side of black bean salad. That also came up quick. Then the service stopped. No one came by to ask if we wanted another beer or if we'd like our check (which we did). We stared desperately at either one of them hoping they'd stop chatting up their regulars for one second and catch our eyes. Eventually, Jacob walked up to the bar to ask for the bill and one of the bartenders stood in front of him, looked at him, then walked away. No, honey, he wasn't enjoying the view. He wants to get out of here. Finally the other bartender cashed us out and we left. It was a pretty bad first impression and although the atmosphere and menu seemed promising, the service is what makes a bar a place you want to be. This was not a place I felt welcomed. read more

The food is great and we usually love going here! I was a little taken back by being asked to move from our table. There was no where to go! I understand that they needed the table for someone wanting to eat but we had been there drinking already! It's not like we weren't spending money! We had a group of 6 with us and we were all buying rounds and tipping well. At one point a group of people left and offered us their table and we were still told that we couldn't sit there! We often to go out after dinner and have never been made to move and at any other bar/restaurant establishment. If there was room at the bar, we would have moved to the bar but asking your paying customers to stand is by far the worst customer service you could give someone. read more

I have been here twice. I was told by someone to try the lobster grilled cheese. It is probably 5000 calories and worth everyone of them. The second time I did not even look at the menu and just ordered it again. First rime I was with my husband and second time was with a group of 6. Everyone enjoyed their food. They have eggplant fries as a side option and they are really food. Not soggy or greasy. You wait a bit for your food but the service is good so you will always have a drink in front of you. It does get quite noisy even on a weekday but it is a bar so not a shock. It is not huge and I guess the fish fry is really good. I am sure it gets packed on Fridays. read more

After a recent trip to Milaeger's in Racine my wife and I were in need of a bite to eat and a little liquid refreshment. We sat in the parking lot Googling, close by, possible alternatives and stumbled on Joey's. After traveling the few miles to get there, we arrived at a little corner joint. The place looked well maintained , but nothing special, so we were going to pass it by, but since we were thirsty we thought we'd stop in for a quick one. LESSON, Don't judge a book by its' cover. The bartender was spectacular! She was friendly and provided exceptional service. The drinks were well made and reasonably priced . The interior was larger than the outside made it appear. The dining area and restrooms were very clean. A rear patio offered covered seating. However, none of this compared to the quality of the food. We had the authentic tacos and the Yucatán Lobster egg rolls and were blown away. The gentlemen next to us, having a business lunch, had a Steak House Bleu burger and a Fried Cod sandwich that looked amazing. I wish I could have eaten more. Stop in, worth the drive. read more

Man, you ever had an experience that starts great then just tanks hardcore? Like right into the gutter? Yeah, that was this place. Divey, even maybe redneck-y, cheapish, laid back. I was sold! The beers came tall and frosty, the waitress was cool. The fried cheese curds were bountiful and heavenly. "This place is the absolute best" I started to think. But then the rest of our food came, and it was *eh* at best. And then apparently we got cursed with some unbreakable invisibility cloak. It was wild. One minute we're having a good time and enjoying suds and deep fried cheese. And the next, we completely vanish from time and space - unseen figments doomed to linger in our purgatorial state of empty beers and grease-stained basket liners. For eternity. Until. We. Die. Seriously. Maybe this is a regulars bar and they knew these people intimately. But for the rest of our visit, one bartenderwaitress was *[REDACTED]* every member of Nickleback at the end of the bar, and the other was starry-eyed and gaga over the screaming infant behind us. Which meant that we sat ignored for the better part of thirty minutes in a bar of fifteen, wondering if this was a joke they played on out-of-towners. I had to walk up to the bar and hand-over-head wave someone down to beg then to allow me to give them my money and gtfo. I came here every Friday for 5 to get fish fry to go. 1st week was great. 2nd week phone was busy until I pulled in parking lot. 3rd week was the same. The menu offers lots of tasty options and all are a step up from typical bar food. Pro tip: the southwestern coleslaw is yucky, avoid. I'd love to give Joey 4 stars based on the food but the interior is just so unpleasant. The tables are crowded and too close to the bar and the chairs are uncomfortable. It's an up north dive bar that does serve up pretty good food but if Joey wants to charge restaurant prices then he should give this a place a little bit of a face lift. read more
