Great places for a fresh breath of air or a smoke break. I've never had a bad time with the bartenders or bouncers. Drinks are solid and do the job. The music is typical bar music. You can definitely wait to hear a song you like. The atmosphere just isnt for me. It can be packed in Jo Cats and it still looks boring. We walked through the entire bar. Not a single song pulled us to the dance floor. I try to only come when there's no cover so I dont feel salty about wanting to leave.

My husband got home and they sent a burger with bbq sauce instead of the cubano. He went all the way back to get my sandwich and I can't even eat it. The ham is supposed to be deli ham, they put a huge chunk of a honey ham (like the ones you buy for Easter) with the brown sugar glaze. Are Cubans eating this kind of ham? No. Then there a sliced pork loin instead of slow roasted shredded pork with lots of garlic and oregano and citrus like a Cuban lechon would have. It's not even edible. I wanted so badly to like this. I just had back surgery and can't go anywhere. I was hoping they could get a sandwich right. It was horrible. I immediately gagged. I'm not a food snob, I'll literally eat just about anything but it has to actually taste good. I'm really sorry toad hall but yall need some cooking lessons.

The special was a grilled cheese and meatloaf sandwich (with a side of their special pineapple coleslaw) The sand- wich was large was toasted to perfection. It even had pickles on it. It was different and seriously delicious!! My daughter-in-law had the mac 'n cheese with chicken strips. It looked amazing. The portion was so big, she had to take half of it home. The salads are huge and one of those will be my next choice. This bar as been around for years. (the owners retired) There is live music often and there are two area with tables, one in the primary bar room and another where the band would be. There are also booths along the back wall. The bar was clean and the new owner, Caleb, was very friendly. I bet people don't think of George's as a lunch or dinner destination, but I highly recommend it.

I paid for a round of drinks for my friends. Three Carbliss and a top shelf shot. The bartender asked if I wanted to keep the tab open. I said no, close it out. He ran my card, I signed the receipt and that was that. Or so I thought. The next day I glanced at my bank account, I believe it said $37 and change. Hmm, seemed kind of high. I looked at it the next day and now it's up to $42.90. What in the world!?! I called George's, asked what they charge for Carbliss, $7. Ok, so $21plus the shot. I'm sorry, it shouldn't be $42.90. I was told I didn't close out the tab. Well, yes, I did. What would I have to do to completely close out that tab? So we went back and forth a couple of times and she said, have a good day. That was that! Nice scam! Needless to say, I am not happy. I'm not sure I care to go there ever again. Very disappointed!! So, beware!!!

If you're considering going to Duke's, don't bother. This place has completely hit rock bottom, and it's clear no one, especially the owner, gives a damn. The owner is unbelievably rude and has flat-out made it known in a conversation "I don't care whether you come here or not." The former owner could never. Why? Because the new owner's got other locations that funnel money into his pockets. So, your business means absolutely nothing to him. The atmosphere is nothing short of depressing. Whatever decorations once gave the place some semblance of life have been stripped away, leaving the bar looking like a rundown and that's given up on trying. No vibe, no energy, no crowd--seriously, there's hardly anyone there anymore, and who could blame them? It's painfully obvious that Duke's is circling the drain. The owner's apathy is contagious, and it shows in every detail. Even the bartenders hint that this place just isn't it anymore...ouch. The place is soulless, and it's a miracle the doors are still open at this point. There's zero excitement, no reason to ever set foot inside, and if you do, you'll regret wasting your time and money. Save yourself the disappointment and go anywhere else there are plenty of better options around the corner, or across the street.
