By far my favorite spot in Racine for wings. Their famous grilled wings are to die for - added tip, make sure to get a side of mild sauce for dipping. It definitely gives sports bar vibes with all the tvs and cheap menus and what not, but this is why I love this place. Service is typically good and what you would expect and they always have some deals going on. Definitely recommend going for a football game, but of course, you will be waiting a little longer. read more

A girlfriend and I decided to grab something for lunch and neither of us had ever been to Buckets. When you first walked into the restaurant there was a very strong smell of cigarette smoke. There didn't seem to be anyone smoking so I am not sure where that smell was coming from. When you walk in you seat yourself and very promptly a very sweet waitress welcomed us and she brought water. I ordered the chicken wings, and my gf ordered a breakfast burger and we ordered some fried cheese curds. The cheese curds were amazing. Honestly the best I have ever eaten. The coating on the curds was very light, basically a dusting of coating but they were delicious. My gf's burger looked good and she said it tasted good too it had a soft egg, bacon and cheddar cheese on it. You could see the egg running down the sides of the burger. I got my chicken wings just fried with teriyaki sauce on the side. The wings were pretty good with no real coating on the chicken. The chicken was good but nothing spectacular. The best part of the whole lunch was the fantastic waitress welcomed us had. Lunch was by all means good, if I had just had the curds I would have said it was the very best. The other foods brought it down a notch but I would go back and try something else! read more

As of May 2021: - Grilled wings are still served Mon - Thurs after 3 PM. - Wings are now 20 wings for $24.80 (total including tax). Apparently there is a chicken shortage that is causing price hikes... Sad. I just realized I have so many updated reviews here lol. But I had to do another one. Considering that I have to travel close to an hour to get their grilled wings, I must really love this place. And I do. That said, I was a bit disappointed with their wings this time around. I don't know whether it's because of the chicken shortage and their chicken suppliers changing or what... But their wings got a bit bigger (which is good, right?), but not as well seasoned like it used to be. And a little drier than juicy like it used to be. Chef Tyler Lebath fed 33 of my classmates last night for our 65th St. Cat's Reunion and it was delicious! The salad and veggies were done just right and the beef in gravy was sooo tender and tasty. Chicken and mac were cooked just right...moist and flavor-packed. Everyone applauded Tyler when he came out to make sure we were happy. Then we got to pack up the leftovers for another day. We attended a private catered event at Buckets and it was great! Great staff-- chef was walking around checking in, making sure everything was good. Food was delicious. On several recommendations for the fabulous wings, we've tried this place out twicein the last couple of months. The first time we tried their wings, the husband got the traditional hot wings, and I tried the teriyaki. His wings were fabulous, and he enjoyed them. Mine were a hit on the salty side, however that's kind of normal for teriyaki. Our 2nd time going we went on a Monday specifically to try the grilled wings. OMG, they are so good. Just a bit of spice, totally crispy yet totally NOT dried out. You can tell they take pride in making their wings. Absolutely delicious. Both times, we got appetizers. Both times we ordered jalapeno poppers and the fried dill pickle spears. Both times they too were fabulous. It's a casual place. You order at the bar, and your food is brought to you. This is a bar, not a restaurant. There is no table service, and it was crowded and noisy when I went. Now, that said. Had the wings, they were very good.
