Being my first visit to Stan's I had a very different experience than many of the reviews. I am short and have mobility problems. All the seating at this establishment is high bar stools and pub seating. I was able to find a lower bar stool off to the side wall. No one in a wheelchair would be able to dine here. Even the lowest bar stool I could find in the place was uncomfortable seating. My legs were dangling and falling asleep. The place was busy at 4pm. There was only one bartender/server. She was 9 months pregnant and overworked. Food was extremely slow coming out. Cod portion was VERY SMALL and COLD FRIES. The server had difficulty getting our group of six bill together. The price paid and amount of food and cold food was not worth coming to this establishment. I will not be returning. This establishment is not handicapped accessible do to there seating offerings. read more

Great local watering hole in Kenosha. Decent beers on tap with some local flavor. It's been about 10 years since I have been inside prior to this visit and I definitely noticed some changes for the better. Updates in decor, new bar top, flooring and a equipment. I wish this place was not 2k miles from my home i could see myself here every night. They have also added a smoking room with some slot style gaming machines in the back for entertainment. read more

Stan's is exactly what you want in a corner tavern. We've been many times and never been disappointed. Locals will tell you, it's the place to get a great burger. No fancy shmancy burgers with clever names. Just straight up, handmade burgers on a toasted Kaiser roll, a selection of cheeses and L/O/T. Our waitress Melissa was very attentive and had grit that reminded you that this is not a chain restaurant. Beers were very affordable. They have a comfortable, heated, smoking lounge for questionable decision enthusiasts. The place is clean and has a old timey feel while also having lots of TVs to watch the game. If you're like us and like finding hidden gems, this is one place of them. read more

The food was good when we were at Stan's for lunch on March 19. With the exception of three other customers, no one wore masks upon entering or going to the bathroom. The bartender and cook weren't wearing masks or gloves and I didn't see any hand sanitizer being used. There didn't appear to be any sanitizing after customers left either. I was there the week prior and observed a lack of masks on staff also. Patrons sat at the bar shoulder to shoulder and there are the same amount of tables as always. We checked out Stan's Place for the first time for the fish fry on Friday night based on all the great reviews. It was great and definitely worth checking out! It is a small place and we got there about 5:00pm and were able to get a table. By the time we left around 6pm it was packed. I had the shrimp dinner with potato salad and it came with cole slaw and two small pieces of garlic bread. The shrimp dinner was amazing with 7 jumbo shrimp cooked perfectly with a generous serving of cocktail sauce. The sides of potato salad and cole slaw came in small plastic cups portion and were tasty. - just wish the portion was a bit bigger. The cole slaw was fresh and seemed like it was homemade with a mix of sweet and sour. The potato salad was good too and something different besides fries, but I don't think it was homemade. My husband had the walleye with fries and cole slaw and two pieces of garlic bread. He had 3 pieces of walleye that were slightly dry perhaps over cooked with tartar sauce. We have had much better walleye at other restaurants in the area. The fries were the standard small crinkle cut that were decent. The server was friendly when we first arrived and got our drinks and took our order right away. Our food did take a long time about 30 minutes to arrive at our table but it was a small place with I'm guessing a small kitchen plus they take to go orders which I noticed quite a few of those going out. You could tell the server seemed a bit over whelmed probably due to the crowd and she was not as attentive as we are used too but not a deal breaker by any means. The shrimp was excellent and we will go back to check out the cod and the burgers! All the food seemed fresh and made to order which is worth the wait! The bar itself is super clean with plenty of TVs and sport memorabilia. Overall it was a very good first visit and we are looking forward to our next visit! read more

Interesting neighborhood joint in Kenosha as it looks like a fireman or police hangout. The mood is good enough and the look of the bar is simple for a small neighborhood tavern. A pool table and old building look makes this place pretty decent enough is just passing through read more

BEST RUEBEN! It's not thinly sliced sandwich meat it's HEARTY REAL CORN BEEF! It's seriously fabulous! They have the BEST BEER on tap! I know on tap... you think tap beer = skunky NOT at Stans! His tap beer is crisp and all the food is great!! My family favorite are the burgers! Prices are fair! Dinner & drinks for 2 about $40-50 (with tip) YOU want to tip these guys! They are fast and friendly! Don't forget to Tio your bartender/server! ;) read more

Not worth it. The fish fry was disgusting, our drinks were incorrect and we waited over an hour just for a rubbery fish fry and shrimp dinner. No one bothered to see if we needed refills. The place is gross and staff is rude. Never going back! read more

I had heard that this place was great but I was very disappointed. My husband and I went for drinks and dinner. Food was OK nothing special. I thought the burger was a nice portion and good but overpriced. Fish was dry probably because it was frozen and French fries were frozen nothing homemade about this food. Had a hard time getting bartenders/waitresses to bring drinks to table. We had to go to the bar to keep getting our drinks. Very pricey! Would not recommend if you want good food and service. read more

As the sign says ....Best burger in town. Food great! Service great. Wonderful beer selection too. Make sure to try the seasoned fries.
