Walking in was kind of weird. The restaurant has a small entry room heavily decorated with Mexican art and a sign showing how to make beans. After opening the 2nd door a very loud chime rings in your ear. Alarm in the staff than a new guest Has walked in. You would think someone would say hello. But, no one did. The decor is very heavy and colorful. I Loved the decorations. It was a mix of Cinco De Mayo and Christmas all in one. I only wish they had loud music to match rather than the TV. I love American Ninja Warrior. But, I love music while I eat even more. The menu was great and easy to read. The food as very good and different then the Typical Mexican food and menu in Corpus Christi. I was very surprised my it. I love shredded chicken and shredded beef. It was very flavorful and everything was very fresh. During our meal the waiter stopped by only once. He did not bring us our bill. Finally we just walked up near the area where I saw a lady picking up to go order. That lead me to believe that that's where we pay. No one ever stopped by to ask us if we wanted anything else or the bill. All in all the food was very good. I was like eating at my Aunt's house. The loud decorations and TV blaring in the background made it feel even more like a home. read more

Very colorfully decorated with both tables and booths. Walked in with no one to greet so we just chose a booth. He came out after we sat down then it was good service through the rest of the meal. Not Tex-Mex, different but good. Super large tortilla chips with Ranchero sauce for appetizer. The charro beans were delicious! I had the Mexican Cravings platter #30, and it was good with two items I had never had before, a Mexican quesadilla, very different from the quesadillas I'm used to and a sobe. Anybody who has ever visited or lived in Corpus knows there's no shortage of run-of-the-mill Tex-Mex restaurants. There's practically one on every corner. Thankfully the owners of this place are challenging the conventional wisdom around here. I appreciate that their menu offers a more authentic, "interior" Mexican food experience. You won't find low-grade hamburger meat with oily gravy poured all over your enchilada plate at To-Ce-Chi. Their red sauce and queso blanco beef enchiladas are my favorite in town. Yes, as mentioned in one of the other reviews, they do use shredded beef. But it's certainly not flavorless. And it's definitely not swimming in a half cup of grease like every where else in this city. There is a bit of a wait sometimes. But if you get to know the guys who run this place you'll come to find that the two or three people working on any given day are making your food to order...one dish at a time. No one is heating anything up in a microwave or keeping pre-made food warm under an industrial heat lamp. Even the pico de gallo and guacamole are made to order. This is an easy 5 stars for me. The food always tastes great and the service is friendly. You'll find plenty of familiar favorites here, but each dish is done in their own unique way. I highly recommend the enchiladas, posole, quesadillas, To-Ce-Chi tacos and their pico de gallo is as good as I've ever had. Enjoy! read more

We ordered 1 beef, and 1 cheese enchilada plate, with an extra plate for our 5 year old daughter to share with my wife. He repeated it as three enchilada plates and we said twice, 2 enchilada plates and an empty plate for our daughter. After an hour of waiting he brings out 3 enchilada plates. I politely again told him an empty plate and to take the third enchilada plate back. He comes back and says we have to pay for the third plate and if we would like it to go. We stoped eating our cold enchiladas and paid for everything and got out of that dirty, lousey restaurant. read more

I heard a lot of good things about this place so decided to try it. They only had one waiter & it took him about 5 minutes to come take our drink order. He told us there would be about a 15 minute wait for our food, it was about 45. The only good thing I ate was the charro beans. The cheese enchiladas were horrible & the cheese wasn't melted all the way through. My son did say he liked the quesadilla he got. Overall would not recommend this place, better off going across the street to Jaliscos. read more

I came here with my husband. He had the footlong taco and I had the sopes. The sopes reminded me of the ones I had in Mexico. Food was good and the server was fine, but it took close to an hour for us to get our food and there were only two other tables, one with a couple and one with a family. However I would go back to see if maybe that day slow service was an exception. read more

Amazing authentic Mexican food. First time there. Food is quick, hot, great location. The tortillas are hands down better than any in 100 miles- like abuela used to make. Light and fluffy. Family owned restaurant. Great family and good atmosphere. The Guacamole is authentic like in Cancun gourmet resort style. 5 stars. Mi Tierra in SA is comparable. I go to this restaurant all the time. It is a family owned restaurant so the service can be a bit slow but they make everything fresh not in bulk and then reheated like other places. They have a photo album for a menu so you see exactly what you are ordering. This is not a Tex Mex restaurant, it's authentic Mexican so if you're not used to it you might be disappointed but the food is well worth the wait. Exceptional service from the staff. read more

The food is ok but the service is terrible. We stopped by there after a function to have dinner, I have been there in the past and had an ok experience. The wait was just as long over an hour. On our last visit the two waitresses working were more concerned about each other than customer service, I couldn't believe that I asked both of them if they had Serrano Chile's or jalapeños, there response was "I don't know", remind me again what the name of this place is! The chi in to ce chi stands for Chile I would assume, waitresses were both airheads. Took my wife's order wrong because of the empty space between there ears I guess, we ate slowly so my wife wouldn't eat alone (we thought) after another thirty minutes they finally brought her crappy food out, they called it Piccadillo guisado, wasn't even close to looking like the picture. So I go to pay and I noticed that I wasn't charged for my wife's plate so I assumed they felt they should at least do that. Boy was I wrong, we stood outside talking for a bit the the airhead went out and asked my wife if she was going to pay for her food, WOW, I Said that she should ask he manager if he felt it would be good customer service to write it off since she only had a couple of bites after waiting an hour for her food, we were done with our plates when she was served, he came out shortly after and said well if you would have told us that we took too long we wouldn't have continued making your wife's plate, holy shit this guy is a fucking dick, he didn't even apologize for the mixup, will never return here and WILL warn others.
