Elmer and his crew just completed a paint job on a relative's home. They did excellent work. The scope of the job was exterior painting the entire house. Elmer was recommended from our realtor. I met him onsite for the consultation. He was organized and took notes on the work that needed to be completed. He noted certain areas on the building that needed additional work besides just painting. Elmer provided an estimate later that day after our consult meeting. His pricing is fair and competitive. The job took approximately 4 days to complete. Below are photos of what it looked like before and after. I would recommend TLC Construction (Elmer) and their crew for any housing job you need done.

During construction - drywall needed to be removed and replaced. Ceiling needed to be repainted.

Our bathroom ceiling had fairly severe water damage caused by a water leakage from the above unit. I reached out to Elmer at TLC construction and he was incredibly prompt at providing me with an estimate after I shared with him photos of the damages that needed repair. We scheduled a date and Elmer was helpful and responsive in following up with me in advance of the scheduled repair date. Elmer and his team provided all the repair supplies, all I had to provide was the paint. Elmer and his team did a magnificent job repairing and repainting the ceiling drywall along with water damage on my bathroom door frame. I've provided the before and after photos. Elmer and his team did such a wonderful job that it looks like my bathroom never had any water damage! I also wanted to highlight that his team did a fantastic job ensuring the apartment floors and bathroom were protected from construction damage. They hung up tarp and laid down floor protection to prevent scratches and spread of dust. As for value, I would say Elmer and TLC construction were fairly reasonable. I asked my friend who works in construction and he said the estimates provided were quite accurate. I highly recommend Elmer and his team if your home ever encounters water damage. Elmer is friendly and attentive and him and his team are professional and prompt! They were able to get the job done within the timeframe they provided me. I really appreciated Elmer and TLC Construction's great work!

We had a dryrot concern on the exterior corner of my home and a leak in my bedroom ceiling and wall. I contacted many businesses like water damage, roof repair, and general contractors. Many of these people felt like they were wanting to charge me outrageous prices and do unnecessary work. I'm not handy, but got enough quotes and feedback to get some ideas about what was really needed. When Elmer came for a quote, I felt like he was really helpful, honest, and friendly. It was really refreshing to meet him, after dealing with different types of contractors who didn't feel like a good fit due to price and/or their solutions to the problem. He gave me a very reasonable quote the same day I met him, and was able to start a few days later. Him and his team did really great work! We ended up hiring him to upgrade our bathroom not too long after. We really wish we had met him sooner. We are very happy with their work. Thank you Elmer!

I recently had the pleasure of working with Elmer and his crew who completely transformed my kitchen. The team was professional, efficient, respectful, honest, and easy to communicate with. Elmer took the time to understand my vision and provided valuable input to make the best of my space. They were able to complete the project within the agreed upon timeline and budget, and the final product exceeded my expectations. The new layout and design of the kitchen has dramatically improved the functionality and overall aesthetic of the space. I have received many compliments on the design! I highly recommend Elmer and his crew to anyone looking for a professional, reliable, and skilled team to handle their remodeling project. They were wonderful to work with and I would definitely use them again in the future! Thank you Elmer!!

Elmer was amazing to work with from start to finish. He was very humble, polite, lively, and made sure he's meeting expectations. I randomly found Elmer via Yelp. Out of everyone I talked to, he was the most polite and transparent. He showed up on time to take a look at the place and give his quote. He gave us a VERY reasonable quote. We had 2 floors worth of floor changed to hardwood, got all the walls and doors repainted, and got the staircase's carpet replaced. The work itself was a lot and I promised Elmer flexibility which he was very appreciative of since it was December and the work would overlap with Christmas. Overall, we were super happy with his work and his crew. Again, he was super polite, super professional, and super transparent throughout the project. I'm glad I found him and looking forward to working with him again!

I think it's important folks know…read moreabout this experience so see below: ______________________ I had such a bad experience with Mission Home which I know will look bonkers given the 5 star reviews. I was definitely persuaded by these reviews - and now will question every business that has 5 star reviews. Do your homework and don't be fooled. Project took much longer than what it should have because they were disorganized and would forget certain things (the foreman would even admit that the PM should have told me certain things!) that I would have imagined a contractor had down pat in terms of sequencing. They use some subcontractors and you are at the mercy of their schedules. They just are not organized (you will do a lot of the reminding, checking in, following up, and certain things still may not happen). They failed inspections meaning more cost (it is their job to pass these! It says this in any contract!) If it seemed as though I was questioning something, the PM got defensive and sometimes unprofessional, gaslighting me in a very aggressive manner. I saved the communication, in fact. The people I worked with directly were young and it showed in the almost-too-casual style of communication and lack of professionalism. I surrendered towards the end and just wanted the project done and everyone gone. I feel completely foolish that I went with the significantly higher estimate thinking it would offer a smooth, superior experience. The actual people who did the work worked hard though and did nice work - hence the two stars. But at the end of the day, it's actually hard to enjoy the work as I am reminded by the months of bad experiences - up to the very end. You can find more experienced contractors out there for equal quality of workmanship and for a more competitive price. I am using a different contractor now for other work at the property - it's a 180 degree difference - they have a dedicated team for my project, meaning time to completion is more accurate and on time; they have a dedicated person to procure the finishes and fixtures, not myself; they are way more organized and even provided me a timeline of what to expect and communicate with me what time they are showing up and what progress was made that day (!!); they are bringing a truly expert eye with attention to detail that ELEVATES the space and are teaching me to ask things I didn't even know I should KNOW to ask; and most importantly, I feel truly comfortable asking questions without defensiveness and aggressive steamrolling in their answers. I received none of this level of care or expertise with MHR, and I want you to know that you should expect these things!!!

This makes no sense because we just want to get a ballpark to see if it's even make sense to continue. But anyway, on the date of the site visit, the guy come without any tool for measurements and for note taking. The guy just spent like 20 mins walking around the house and said he will get back to us with a quote. But I never hear back from them since. I think the company is very picky on clients and like to see if they have enough money to pay for their service. If they think we cannot afford it, they will just cut all the communications. I hired Prime to renovate my kitchen - countertops, backsplash, cabinets, electrical, freezer, etc…read more They also helped install a new bidet toilet for me. Overall the experience was very good; Elijah and Bryan were super friendly and responsive. Eli was very patient and accommodating as we discussed several different potential change orders, from new windows to painting, to other misc. things that popped up. Bryan Luna was especially a pleasure to work with. His attention to detail and proactivity to solve any little thing I mentioned was definitely the highlight of working with Prime. Their contracted electrician, Hector, was great as well. I also think they did a great job building out a cabinet to fit our freezer next to the matching fridge. Their master carpenter managed to salvage our existing wood to make it match perfectly. Definitely better than what I'd expect from even a carpentry specialty contractor. I will mention that it wasn't without some snags. Prime deals in volume so they're very busy. I think because I had delays in sourcing a freezer I ended up not getting a dedicated project manager for some time. We had timeline issues made worse with holidays. This caused cascading delays which inevitably pushed back my move in date a few weeks. When I finally did get a new project manager, they ghosted me (later on I found out they had a family emergency). Eli had to step in again to help. Another thing is that their pricing is quite opaque. The estimate will break down prices by milestones, but they repeated told me that it's not a valuation of the milestone itself. This made it nigh impossible to understand if I wanted to contract out specific pieces of the project (e.g. flooring). Design was OK. I felt that the designer was very busy. Sometimes very responsive (5min replies), sometimes not responsive at all (no reply). I wish I had a better, more thorough back-and-forth session about the intricacies of the design. But we made do. Ultimately, the designer made a render and helped point us to some vendors, but from there we had to make our own selection alone (cabinets, handles, pendant lights, faucets, etc.). I did appreciate her presence when we picked out countertops, though. All in all, I think this was a 4.5 star job, but I'm rounding to 5 because of Eli and Bryan :)

Overall, the project went well, and we're happy with the final results. Bryan, our foreman, was a strong asset to the project. Even though he was managing multiple jobs at the same time, his responsiveness and willingness to go out of his way to address our concerns made a big difference. Because we were home throughout the process, we were able to catch issues early and communicate them directly to Bryan, who consistently followed through to resolve them. What Went Well: * The tile and flooring subcontractors were excellent - their craftsmanship and attention to detail truly stood out. * Bryan, our foreman, was responsive to texts and phone calls, listened to our concerns, and made sure they were addressed. He even designed a bi-fold closet door for us, and helped pick up all the material to build it. * Bryan also took the initiative to handle several unfinished items himself, which we really appreciated. * The post-build cleaners were top-notch and left the space in pristine condition. * Throughout the project, everyone we interacted with was professional, courteous, and conscientious. There were no conflicts or issues, which made the experience comfortable for us. Areas for Improvement: * The timeline was a pain point. While we were originally told the project would take 6-8 weeks, it ended up stretching to 12 weeks. * The design process fell short of expectations. Because Prime's in-house designers weren't available, our design work was outsourced. We only received a full design package for the master bathroom. As a result, we ended up creating our own renderings for the other rooms to help communicate our vision to the team. That said, we were very happy with the design and material selections for the master bathroom they did complete. We just wish the same level of attention and design support had been provided for the rest of the project. * At times, resource availability was limited, likely due to workers being assigned to multiple jobs. This led to workflow inefficiencies and delays. Toward the end of our renovation, our foreman Bryan had to personally step in to complete several tasks, such as installing faucets, shelving, and baseboards. He managed to get it done in between site visits and meetings, which we appreciated, but it also highlighted a lack of available crew to close out the project. Despite these few challenges, the quality of the work met our expectations. We appreciated the team's effort and the final outcome.

He answered all our questions and helped us choose what would work best for our home and budget. From there, everything moved smoothly. The permitting took around three weeks, and construction was finished in about two and a half months, right on schedule and with no surprises. We also want to mention Adrian, the designer, who was such a pleasure to work with. He helped us choose all the materials and finishes while staying within our budget. His eye for design and attention to detail made the whole process so much easier and enjoyable. The combination of functionality and style he brought to the project made a huge difference.
