Went to a morning No-Gi class at 6am. There was a about 12 people that showed up which was awesome for a morning class. The place was clean, taken care of, and just felt like a great place to be. The instructor, Genesis, was patient with me and my 13-year-old son and I didn't feel unattended or 'thrown in'. He welcomed us in, led a very well instructed and thought-out class, and it was apparent that he practices what he teaches because it works. It was a No-Gi class, and I found out after that there were 2 blackbelts there and I didn't even know it, they worked with me and met me where my skill level was. Where do I start . The trainers at TKJJ are all so knowledgeable, safe , and patient . They coach kids from ages 4-13 in the classes my kids are in , and even though it could get busy and chaotic, the coaches always having it under control. Here's my open hearted review of TKJJ and it's for those that have never done Jiu Jitsu before. If you want a place that's gonna teach you from the ground up, like teaching a baby to walk, I highly recommend TKJJ. I've been to other places before and I felt lost. Overwhelmed, just flat out like a white belt rag doll. And I ended up losing interest all together. Nothing against those other places, but, they weren't for me at that time just based on my knowledge of the art.
