Not only has he developed impressive martial arts skills, but his self-esteem has soared. Initially, language was a barrier for Hector, but the instructors at Taekwondo AMA warmly welcomed him. Their support and encouragement helped him overcome obstacles, enabling him to progress. Master Rigg, in particular, has been an incredible mentor, almost like family to Hector. Now, seeing my son, who began as a little Dragon, proudly wearing a blue belt is truly inspiring. I highly recommend Taekwondo AMA Martial Arts for their dedication to nurturing young talents and creating a supportive environment for every student's growth. The classes are very structured and what your child gain from these lessons will last them a lifetime of confidence, discipline and respect towards their peers and adults. I give Action Martial Arts my highest recommendation.

What stands out most is the balance between structured martial arts instruction and practical self-defense training. The instructors focus heavily on fundamentals such as stances, forms, and technique but they also incorporate realistic sparring and situational drills that help students understand how techniques apply in real life situations. For kids, the classes are especially well designed. The instructors manage to keep the training disciplined and structured while still making it enjoyable. There are drills, games, and partner activities that build coordination, confidence, and teamwork. The kids stay engaged, but they're also learning respect, focus, and self control along the way. Another thing I appreciate is that the instructors pay attention to each student's development rather than rushing through belt promotions. They emphasize proper technique, consistency, and attitude. You can tell the goal is long-term growth, not just quick advancement. Overall, UNT Taekwondo offers a solid combination of traditional martial arts training, practical application, and an environment that keeps kids motivated. It's a place where students not only improve physically but also develop discipline and confidence that carries over into everyday life.

I also noticed behavior that came across as overly flirtatious toward other women around the gym. I was told anonymously by a friend whose son have trained there for some time now but (is now at another training school) that he is no longer with his wife and currently has a new girlfriend. His personal life is his business and i pray for his new relationship, but creating an environment where women feel uncomfortable is very unprofessional and comes off as a two timing man who uses his position of power to flirt and flatter other woman and does not reflect well on someone in a leadership position. It honestly comes across as inappropriate and disrespectful. As a strong Christian woman raising my son to be a faithful servant with strong values and respect for others, I take character and integrity seriously. I believe a training environment should feel safe, respectful, and professional for families and women attending classes. I expect a man who is leading young men in our community to be a strong faithful man to the woman he is with (wife or new girlfriend) Coach Rey is not a faithful man and i will not allow my son to be around that spirit.
