I had the opportunity to drop in and train, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Coach Stephen Martinez was incredibly friendly and hospitable from the moment I walked through the door. The entire gym made me feel welcome, even as a complete stranger just looking to share the mats and get some good training in. It says a lot about a gym when you can walk in not knowing anyone and immediately feel welcomed as part of the room. Great atmosphere, great people, and quality training. 10/10 would recommend Peerless Jiu Jitsu to anyone in the area or just passing through. If you're looking for a place to train or considering a drop-in, definitely check them out. Thank you, Coach Stephen and the Peerless crew, for the hospitality and for sharing the mats! read more

What you think will be a physical fitness hobby or workout routine will actually become a part of your life. Professor Stephen is by far one of the most humble down to earth people I've ever met. Remembers your name from the moment you walk in. Peerless is family. It has changed my life. In my hardest times, two hours on those mats reminds you can overcome anything in life. You go to learn jiu jitsu and get in better shape, but the life lessons of resiliency, consistency, accountability, and discipline are actually what is taught without being spoken into words. Thank you Stephen. Thank you Silvio. Peerless Jiu Jitsu has been one of the greatest things I've ever tried and I can't imagine life without it. read more

Great instruction and great training partners. Peerless is an awesome community to be a part of. The training culture hits home on every level, whether a hobbyist or competitor, I love training at Peerless. Every roll is a tough roll. New guys get better and better and seasoned vets still make it miserable. And then there are those coming in from other schools. End result is I am learning a lot and feel like I'm getting better little by little. You have to come in and experience it for yourself. read more

The instructors are incredibly patient, encouraging, and truly care about each child's growth--both on and off the mats. The professors are absolutely amazing and truly passionate about teaching children. Not only do I hold the highest regard for the professors but so do my kids who can feel the support from their professors and truly value their professors words. They strike the perfect balance between discipline and fun, which keeps the kids engaged while teaching them valuable skills like confidence, respect, and perseverance. Was in town from NorCal and was recommended to check out this gym by a friend from mine. As one of their black belts had stopped to train at our a few months back. We stopped in on a Sunday morning and at the initial opening of the gym by the owner Stephen, my family and I greeted him and told him where we were from. He was very cordial and welcomed us, showed us around and pointed out the changing room for us. We were unaware it was no-gi but my son and I had brought that gear with us, while my girl didn't. She ultimately wasn't going to roll, but hoped she could buy a gym branded shirt to roll. And Stephen was nice enough to just give her one so she could still train. Everyone we met and rolled with were friendly and very welcoming; making our brief time here enjoyable. Overall: Very friendly and professional, and would stop in again if/when in the area again. read more

Peerless Jiu Jitsu in Corona is a wonderful academy led by truly amazing instructors. I have personally received instruction from Professor Martinez, Professor Ski, Professor Brogan, and now Professor Bear. Every one of them is knowledgeable, patient, and excellent at breaking down technique in a way that makes learning both fun and effective. I highly recommend the academy to anyone looking for a place that values skill, discipline, and community. I signed up our five year old for a trial class to see how he would do. The coaches are great and I knew that we would continue his journey with BJJ. Since day 1 our son has shown significant improvement with his rolling, discipline, technique and overall confidence. I'm really impressed within the few short months he's been here at peerless how he improved. He was attending karate up the street, and although we did find some benefits, we found that BJJ was just better for him. You can bring you child literally everyday, I don't think I've seen anything in corona quite like that, GI and no GI classes available. Personally, my child enjoys the GI. I love how the coaches just show the kids that they cannot just mess around and need to learn respect. That's one thing I really appreciated during our time here. They always kept the kids in line. As a parent, thank you. Some parents don't like that, but these kids need that! Lastly, the kids always followed the directions of the coaches. Each day is something new. The first 30 minutes is a warm up, then the rest of the class is a new move they need to master and practicing with each other. It all depends. It's also clean and tidy. Overall, if you are looking for your child to learn how to protect themselves, learn something new, or overall just do something active, then 100% put them in BJJ. read more

Great place for kids! Honestly, the kids program here is the best I've experienced in a solid 30 mile radius. The coaches are extremely patient they teach great fundamentals and lessons. The lessons taught can correlate to both the sport and life, and it seems as though they all genuinely care about your kids growth and success. They will take the time to make the little corrections to their form as they do both the warm ups, and the actual practice, which helps the kids gain confidence as they continue to come and get better and better. Can't recommend this place enough, especially for kids (I think they start at age 4 on up but not sure) read more

I've been training here for the past two years now, and can't believe I haven't gotten around to post a review. So here it is. lol. Peerless is a legit gladiator school! Professor Stephen is one of the most skilled instructors out there. He is also a very accomplished competitor, and continues to compete. I only attend the Gi classes , cause my old ass can't take no gi as well. lol. All instruction is always detailed and very well demonstrated . Stephen is always walking around helping those who need help while drilling . All instructors that teach on various days are also very skilled. Now back to Gladiator school! Everyone from white belts to black belts are savages!, and at the same time some of the nicest guys around.. I started late in life , and I'm glad I found peerless. Training here even gave me the confidence to compete for the first time. Thank you professor Stephen and everyone at peerless for putting up with this old man. read more

High quality jiu jitsu from a high quality instructor. I first heard of Professor Stephen from one of my original bjj coaches. He was described as a monster on the mats and an incredibly good human being. My coach couldn't have been more correct. Almost 4 years ago, my at the time professor moved out of state to start his own academy and I wasn't sure where I would go. Long story short, Professor Stephen had since opened Peerless Jiu Jitsu and I couldn't be more grateful to have landed there. I joined Peerless as a brown belt, and I can confidently say that after training under Professor Stephen my jiu jitsu has drastically improved. He holds himself to a high standard and the environment he has created asks the same of his students. We roll hard and have fun. Other Perks: - Incredible Kids classes Monday-Friday - Women Only BJJ class every Wednesday evening - Morning and evening adult classes throughout the week - There are regularly multiple black belts on the mat to roll with and learn from - Welcoming environment by both Professor and students If you want to train somewhere where your teammates become like family, the owner and head instructor teach nearly 100% of the classes and is invested in his students, and you'll raise your expectations of yourself as an individual, Peerless is the place you want to be. read more
