Took my car here for a warranty claim involving a peeling tint. TJ broke a piece of the weatherstripping where it meets the bottom of the window when applying the tune and now it's missing a chunk that allows water into the door cavity. Asked Tj and he said he didn't do it. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, even though I know my car and it's impossible to miss due to the location being right in my face every time I get out of my car. But he seemed so sincere so I believed him. Scheduled my suv to be done after Tj gave me a price of $420. He did a good job filing the edges of the window to prevent any gaps in the film so despite the car damage, I decided to get my suv done. Well, when I came in 2 weeks later for my appointment, there was another customer being helped and that customer was told his car would be worked on right away and would take a few hours. Was thinking maybe he double booked? Then I was told the price would be $550 for what I'm asking to do with the filing. That would be extra, even if it needed it. He said "not all cars need the filing". He must think I'm idiot - there's NO difference between car manufacturers in the context of putting a window tint film to the very edge of the glass. And also, he said because my suv has a hatch glass, it would be more difficult and cost extra, and that he could not tuck the film under causing a gap around tweets the hatch lift connects to the glass. It's like he was purposely making the job less desirable to get him out of double booking 2 customers because he doesn't know how to use a freakin calendar. All these things about the back glass were known when the price was given, before I waited 2 weeks for this appointment, before I wasted time and money getting to the shop since I don't live in Fairfield. After those lies and me not accepting the $550 new price, I was then told him software didn't have my model vehicle in the system and he couldn't cut the film. This shop does good work but the people are pathological liars and will never own up to any mistake or damage they cause to your car. It was pretty obvious he double booked and instead of taking ownership of that, he lies about the quoted price, lies about the software not being about to cut the film when another worker there already checked my vehicle year and model, and then says my car is too dirty to put tints on. My suv had some dog hair yea, but no more than the vehicle that was just done there 2 weeks prior and I didn't hear a word about it then smh. Talk about prideful people, but blatantly lying to customers and insulting them is just wrong, all business aside. Makes me positive now he damaged the first car, and wish I would have taken action against him then when it happened. If you must to tj's tint, please please please, do yourself a favor and take lots of pictures before they take possession of your vehicle so you don't end up like me, getting your car damaged with no way to prove it was them. read more

I waited a week after getting my windows tinted to write this review... just in case anything went terribly wrong with my tint. My experience with TJ's was great! My tint job looks amazing and I have no complaints. I drove in without an appointment, and although there was one car ahead of me, TJ's crew was able to get started on my windows right away. My previous car (with all black leather interior) had a cheaper quality tint from another tint shop in Vacaville and I noticed that my car would still be scorching hot in the summer heat. I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for, so....I learned my lesson and opted to dish out the extra cash to get the highest quality tint since my current vehicle also has all black leather interior. I must say that I can already notice the HUGE difference it makes as far as blocking out majority of the heat. TJ and his crew were professional, courteous, and patient with me as I took my time and changed my mind (multiple times) when choosing the percentage of darkness for the tint. They made recommendations and held up each shade to a window until I finally made my decision. I am completely satisfied with the results. So far, I have had no problems. If there is any problem with the tint in the future I can bring my car back and have it fixed since all of their tint comes with a lifetime warranty. This place is awesome! I called in the morning to get pricing on my Chevy Equinox. It was a total of 7 windows, and if I wanted the front done, 9 total windows. I was quoted a total of $249. I called other places, and the closest pricing was $300 or more for 9 windows. I ended up going to TJ's and my car was done within 3 hours. The windows look great and the pricing was totally fair. TJ (Owner) is a very nice guy. He took the time to explain the different types of tint available to purchase, but made no effort to force me into a higher priced set of tint. They also tint inside and there is a waiting room so you can watch them put it on if you have the time. All tints have lifetime warranty! I found TJ's on Yelp, and after reading a cross section of reviews, I took my brand new 4 door GTI in for an estimate on a complete tint job. I was after a tasteful adult job on my ride. I've had many vehicles tinted with varying results in terms of longevity and quality, so I know what to look out for. I called, made an appointment for an estimate, and arrived on time - first kudo is immediate service and no waiting - Sharif stopped what he was doing immediately, shook my hand, and we started talking options. Of course I went with the best materials. Sharif demo'ed the various grades of material with his heat lamp display - I already knew that I'd go for the best in the shop, but the demo further convinced me. He was also extremely forthcoming about how he didn't want to do the tiny front windows as they were next to impossible to do right, and that he'd try to get the sunroof as well, but wouldn't do it if it couldn't be done right. They've been in business for well over a decade, and that length of time combined with the up-front honesty of "I really don't want to do that wrong, so let's skip it" was exactly what I was looking for. We talked options, pricing and times - he was most accommodating while letting me know that his workload and attention to customer service and detail were top priority - I agreed that I'd bring my car back in for the work the following week. As we're talking, I'm watching the techs heat gun some tint on the outside of a window to set the countour of the glass BEFORE they got the tint on the window. This is the ONLY way to do tint the right way. Anyone can slap tint inside a window, only those folks who know what they're doing take the time to do this. I drop the car the following week, with a promise that it'll be done at noon the following day. My car was kept indoors in the alarmed shop that night. I went to pick it up the next day, and DAMN. This is a new car. I went with the same tint percentage all the way around - remember, adult and classy look. Sharif was unconvinced, I think, when I told him that I wanted to keep it the same all the way around on the initial visit, but agreed when it was finished that it looked fantastic. He parked it outside and other folks visiting looked at it and decided to change their percentages to match. I must be doing something right - Sharif and his crew sure are! He also took the time to show me the imperfections in the factory glass - every car has 'em, even brand new ones. I've seen it before so that wasn't a problem. The uninitiated might think they were bubbles - they're not. Speaking of bubbles, there wasn't a SINGLE ONE on 8 seperate piece of glass. He couldn't get the sunroof, disclosed immediately that he tried, and knocked off the ask on that glass before he sent me on my way with a warning to leave my windows up for 5 days, not to touch the inside of the windows for the same time, a free can of ammonia-free glass cleaner and a pen/light for the glovebox. Five days later, I rolled down the windows to have a look at the tint and how well the cut they made to fit the tint to the glass fit - and every single window is perfect. This looks like factory tinted glass, not an aftermarket job. If I could give these guys 6 stars I would. They're on the pricey side for the best materials, but worth every single penny, and I appreciate giving my $$$ to a locally owned and operated family business. I can't say enough good things about TJ and his crew. First off, what you are coming here for, the tint. They carry top-notch materials in different grades so you have options depending on your budget and comfort level. An important thing for me was to be able to legally tint the front windshield. I don't like getting into the car and having my butt get burnt or my arms and upper body get all uncomfortable while driving in hot California days. TJ was really patient when describing the different options and did not pressure sell me in any way. There was something he said about it being an investment (especially if you plan on keeping your car for a while) if you want take care of your health (UV damage) as well as the car so that did stand out to me. Long story short, the tint that I got looked great and more importantly, I felt much more comfortable driving during the warm summer days. Now, this is the part that puts TJ's over the top and deserving of 5+ stars. While the tint job looked professional, nobody is perfect. After the curing period was over, I noticed some minor bubbling as well as what appeared to be a small scratch on another one of the windows. I called TJ and he asked me to bring the car in so he could take a look. After looking things over, he said that there was indeed some minor bubbles and they would redo the entire windshield. As for the minor scratch, they had to remove the tint for that window to determine whether it was on the tint or the window. It turned out that the scratch was on the window itself. He explained that it may have been on there from the dealership, from when I had car prior to tinting, or a rare possibility that it was them. Here's the thing, TJ is such an honest guy who believes in doing the right thing and giving his customers a good positive experience, he offered to replace the glass (out of his own pocket) and retint. He could have easily played the blame card and say "sorry, tough luck", but he manned up regardless. I don't know how many businesses you know that operate like that but it's enough to win me over as a customer for life. I would not hesitate to refer them to anyone. read more

If I could give TJ and his guys 10 stars I would. My husband and I were super excited to get our new black honda accord tinted (going for the executive look) and were being VERY particular about who we took our car to for tinting. We live in the East Bay and so we were focusing on businesses near us. We had narrowed it down to 2 places near us that seemed fairly reputable although if you have been looking for a good tint shop, you will see that no place is free from criticism. So we were yet still skeptical on even the 2 places we narrowed our list down to. I ended up asking the dealership where we got our car (Hopkins Honda in Fairfield) who they recommended and without batting an eye they said TJ's. After talking to TJ himself, we decided we would bring our car to his business, depite it being 1 hour away. Mainly, TJ offered a lifetime warranty on their services and the product. I may be wrong but I don't think too many tint shops offer that. So clearly we had nothing to lose. TJ and his guys got me in on for a 5-window tint job with little notice on a Wed. afternoon when I just happened to be passing through town for work. I am easily overwelmed by choices and appreciated that they have several, but not too many, levels of tint options which all vary by prce. If someone wants a reasonable tint job purely for aesthetic purposes, they have it. If they want that + heat and sun protection - they have that as well, which is what we went for. And the product we chose absolutely cuts the heat in our car by at least 50% if not more. The product looked absolutely beautiful on our car, my husband said it looks like high quality factory tint, which I have been told is a compliment. ;) They got the job done in less time than quoted and were very thorough in walking me through the post-mortem steps...i.e. no rolling windows down for 3 days, no cleaners with ammonia....etc. Here's the main reason though for my 5 star review though. TJ asked us to return in 5 days so they could confirm that the tint cured perfectly. When we took it in, he noticed some bubbles that we barely noticed and remedied the situation immediately. He stands behind his company's workmanship 100%. He and the rest of the guys there are very family-oriented (we chatted about family while I waited) and very personable. This place is awesome! First off, yeah, they're on the pricier side of the business. What you get for your money though, is well worth it IMO. I called ahead, and although they were booked solid (more to come on that) they were able to get me in the same afternoon. I took my car in at the scheduled appointment time, two obnoxious (yet adorable) rugrats in toe, to be immediately greeted by TWO employees. I was attempting to haggle the negotiated price given over the phone (cause I'm cheap) when they started a clear, in-depth break-down of why the extra price (over other shops in the area) was worth it. They explained the various tints offered, even showing me a heat model that lets you actually feel the heat deflection of various tints. The salesman was very reactive, asking me MY purpose for a tint and, in-turn, suggesting a product that would suite my needs (without trying to force any premium products on me or being pushy in ANY way). All the while my 17 month old daughter is wondering to places she shouldn't be, grabbing things off the walls, and generally just being a little hell-raiser. His response to this annoyance was very understanding, interjecting about his similar aged son and gently removing items from her curious little hands. We settled on a dark tint, mid-level cost, for the back three windows. This was at 2:30 pm. He warned me that they were really swamped, which was evident by the two cars inside the shop, and the car would be ready pretty late. I live about half a block away, so I was good with the wait. At about 6:30 pm (an hour and a half after they close), I get a call from TJ's. I assume the cars ready for pickup. The gentleman on the phone told me the back passenger window wouldn't roll down. Uh oh, you see that window hasn't rolled down since I drove the car off the dealers lot three years ago. I'm an idiot here and didn't even think to mention it. Turns out they can't apply tint without the window actuating. The gentleman says he'll finish up the tint on the rest of the windows and apply a voucher for whenever I get the window fixed. More than reasonable as he'd already started the job, and again, I'm the idiot here. G2G. He tells me he'll call when it's done. I get a call at 8pm (these guys stay three hours after close to fit in a no-notice client) saying the cars ready. I show up and that window is tinted! I walk in and he explains that he applied a temporary tint to that window so the kids wouldn't have to deal with the heat. He asked that I not brag about where this side was tinted to my friends, as its not perfect, but to be honest, it looks damn good. A few slight areas at the edge show non-tint, but again, this is temporary and essentially pro-bono. That sealed the deal. In the end, he even gave me a can of special glass-cleaner for the extra trouble of having to bring the car back to get the window re-tinted... Great bunch of guys here. Quoted me a price lower than competitors in the area and didn't try to upsell me on a darker or more 'upscale' film than I wanted. I wasn't thrilled with one window that they did, there were some bubbles I didn't like, and they fixed it for me a week later, no questions asked. A year and a half now and the tint job still looks great - no bubbles or peeling whatsoever. I also had them put some black vinyl over the cheesy body-colored window pillars on my VW station wagon and they only charged me like 15 bucks - basically cost of materials had I done it myself and it looks way better. So I got my two front windows tinted on my HHR and I must say they a fantastic job! Very detailed and precise with the tiny placement. Just know that for a couple of days you will have very small water bubbles in the tint but they will go away. So don't panic lol. I can't say enough great things about my experience at TJ's! I literally rolled my new MBZ off the lot and over to his shop. I have had windows tinted before, so I wasn't really interested in hearing about the different products. Not in a pushy way, I was asked to listen to the info about their products. I even ended up tinting the front windshield after their heat lamp demo. Picked up the car at the end of the day and couldn't have been happier. I brought the car back for the one week check and everything was great. A couple of months later, I noticed a couple of "wrinkles" on the passenger side glass. It wasn't easy to notice. It just so happened, that the sun was hitting the glass at just the right angle. I felt inside, and couldn't feel any wrinkles. It took me about a month before I could get the car over to TJ's for them to have a look at it. After checking it out, TJ called me and told me that it wasn't a wrinkle but a scratch in the glass. Before I could even get a word out of my mouth, he told me that he would take full responsibility for it, order new glass to be installed, and retint the window--all on his dime. I was SHOCKED!!! Where do you find such an HONEST business these days???? After thinking it over, and being SO IMPRESSED with his integrity, I told him that this small and hardly noticeable defect was not worth the trouble and expense of changing out the glass. We agreed that if it becomes an issue in the future, he will stand by his work and fix it. I truly believe that he will.
