There are plenty of tint shops in the Fairfield/Vallejo area, but I highly recommend putting Jet Black Tint at the top of your list for decals, PPF, wraps, or tint work. Read final paragraph for TLDR Initial Appointment & Price Creep: Back in May of 2025, as a first-time tint shopper, I was drawn by a $129 ad for 5 windows on their website. A phone representative using their generic call number (who has no affiliation to any specific JBT location) quoted me $229 total to include my Civic's quarter panels and front windows. However, upon arrival, the store manager, Wes, claimed the price was actually $249-$259 due to the "curved" nature of the glass. He demonstrated to me a display of the different tiers of Solargard's tints. I asked him if the tints on that display had the same tint shade levels since each felt and looked different, but he ended up telling me that the display has been there for so long that he couldn't remember. I ultimately agreed to a "ceramic" (HP Smoke Plus) tint for the sides and a premium VortexIR tint for the windshield ($300+ extra). Even now, I still remember that it took them over 2 and a half hours to complete their estimated 90 minutes installation. I was able to walk to McDonald's, watch a movie, and walk back with 15 minutes to spare; I was to receive a phone call once done. Although I was initially happy with the tint, I later found that the windshield was left with an uneven cut and a permanent haze in the corner (SEE PICTURE). The "Ceramic" Deception: Two months later, I returned to tint my sunroof. A different manager (whose name I forgot) sat down with me to discuss the type of tint I wanted and told him that I wanted the same "ceramic" HP Smoke Plus that I got for my sides and back windshield. He revealed that the HP Smoke Plus I had been sold as "ceramic" was actually a metallic tint. My original invoice from Wes explicitly stated "ceramic tint," leaving me feeling intentionally misled (SEE PICTURE). I proceeded with the same metallic tint for my sunroof only to avoid mixing materials and higher costs. Bait and Switch Pricing: April of this year (2026), I sought a quote to replace the four door side tints with actual ceramic (VortexIR). I did a walk-in appointment with Wes and he quoted me $600 ($50/window for removal, $100/window for install). I asked if there is anything he can do for a returning, loyal customer and having spent $750+ previously, his best "discount" was a $640 upgrade to their highest tier (XenithIR, which is one tier above VortexIR, and about $60 saving). I offered that if I were to remove the tints myself, he would charge $440, but reminded me that if I had left any trace of adhesive, they would have to charge a clean-up fee per window. Dissatisfied, I checked JBT's website and saw a promotion that a full package comes with free tint removal for $399. I spoke with another (different) sales rep on the phone to get a ball-park estimate and was told that it starts at $399, but for XenithIR, it would be an additional $100. I then decided to chat with a second sales rep via text and was greeted by an AI agent which also said that a full XenithIR tint package with free tint removal would also cost $499 (SEE PICTURE). When I confronted Wes with this, he dismissed the corporate quote as "wrong" and insisted the real full package price for XenithIR was $1,049, and that the $499 only reflected the install price of 7 windows starting from the back. Which, to me, isn't much of a deal considering removing all the tint would be about $400-$500. It became clear that JBT's pricing is unstandardized and designed to squeeze even returning customers. That became the final straw, and I knew there wasn't any room for negotiation. Even if there was more room, I knew it wouldn't be worth it. Superior Local Alternatives: I researched local competitors: Fairfield Tint Masters, TJ's Custom Tints, Superior Tint, and Vivid Optics. I chose NorCal Tints, where the owner, Joe, provided the same Solargard VortexIR ceramic for the sides (including quarter panels) and rear windshield for just $380 (or $300 for just the four side windows). His removal fee was $25 per window--half of JBT's price. The quality was comparable, and the pricing was honest. Final Verdict: JBT Fairfield is an unorganized franchise. I realized there is a total disconnect between their ads, phone reps, and in-store management. While they are efficient at scheduling appointments, their deceptive product labeling and inconsistent pricing are unacceptable. I shouldn't need to ask for a discount nor compensation for false agreements. I will no longer do business with them, and I strongly encourage others to support local tint shops that offer transparency and competitive rates. I can almost guarantee you will find a better price and better service than whatever they offer you elsewhere.

I like to choose the ceramic tent option that helps reduce the signature inside your car, which is better than a carbon Titan. When they finally got started, they used cheap paint that flaked off within days and wasn't even close to the color I asked for. I tried to reach out to the owner, Sunny, thinking we could work it out -- but instead of making it right, he basically told me to go "fix it myself" and refused to issue a refund or even attempt to correct his work. Thankfully, I found another shop, Wraps by Dre in Suisun City, who stripped all the bad paint off and did an absolutely flawless job the way it should've been done in the first place. Surprisingly enough, it appears that the owner of Ace Auto Lounge tried to copy their phone number by changing it one digit, almost as if he's trying to take their business. Bottom line: do NOT waste your time or money at Ace Auto Lounge. Unprofessional, cheap materials, and an owner who doesn't care about his customers. Plenty of better shops out there -- this is not one of them.
