They are a bit pricey on some things, but nothing unexpectedly expensive. To all my Stillwater folks, give EM a try if you haven't already! Some critiques: It can be a challenge to schedule a journeyman/senior barber on Saturdays. A lot of us are doing the whole 8-5 thing, and Saturday is almost always the best day to get a fresh cut. Not that big of a deal, but I wish it were easier. It was easier in the past (1 year ago and prior). Also, the other day I went in to buy some coffee for myself and my wife, and when I asked for a medium roast... I was told that "we don't believe in that, but we have coffee beans from here, there, etc..." Now, as a black coffee enthusiast, it felt like that comment was a departure from reality. I brushed it off and chose by origin instead of roast... I hope that's not an attempt to fight racism or something. How beans are roasted make a huge difference in taste, how they are brewed, even ground. This incident happened a few weeks ago (March 2023). Some of that is just nitpicking, but I really love going to EM. I also look forward to their expansion!

Honestly, we have all heard that before, but sure enough, 10 days later we received a text and an email that said that they were ready to go. Went to the attached invoice, paid using ApplePay, and received a text that afternoon that they had already taken them to the post office to mail! The main reason for my 5-star rating is due to the level of service that I received with my latest purchase. During the coldest Bedlam game I have ever experienced, I stopped in looking for the warmest coat I could find. I found a great (and not cheap) puffy NorthFace jacket that I purchased and carried with me until the game started. Unfortunately when I put it on, I noticed several small slits at the bottom of the jacket where the stuffing was coming out. At the end of the game, we brought the jacket back and they offered to personally take the jacket to their NorthFace rep in Dallas to be either repaired or replaced under the NorthFace warranty. Unfortunately after inspection, the NorthFace rep could not help as it was apparently a burn and not a tear (which I am sure I did at some point when walking through numerous tailgates with heaters blazing). Nonetheless, the store manager offered to have it repaired at their tailor at no cost to me, and even had it shipped to my house in Tulsa! I greatly appreciated the level of service that I often do not experience at other retailers these days and plan to continue shopping at The Wooden Nickel in the future.

Her response was giving me a hand gesture to move to the side and then she said "move over so I can help the people behind you". Not a "yes", not even a "no". No "I'm sorry, I can't help you" or "Please move to the side so I can help the people behind you". Just a hand gesture like I'm a farm animal. When the next cashier became available and asked if she could help me, I warned her I had a Kohls return and she said "Would you like me to process that for you". I replied, "Can you? Because this lady here just waved me off - didn't even tell me "no" or "yes" like your slogan says". Then both cashiers started laughing. I don't think it was funny at all. It was downright rude, ugly, and embarrassing. I won't be doing any business with Kohls again.

For me, Bonobos is one of the few clothing stores that I am completely happy with (mainly shirts, not the biggest fan of their pants). I love Bonobos Jetsetter dress shirts. The desk to dinner shirts come pretty close, just because they can be worn casually (which I never do). I like the silky smooth softness of their fabrics. It feels great on your skin and the fit is perfect for me. The colors and patterns of their products are generally pretty safe, nothing crazy or bold. Bonobos has the best dress shirts for me. They are taking over my closet at the moment. I usually purchase my clothes online through their website. In person Bonobos stores in Oklahoma is almost nonexistent, making it difficult to try on their clothes. If you see one, I would highly recommend to check it out. So we usually get a lot of his clothes at Banana Republic, where the quality is undisputed and the prices are reasonable, especially if you're shopping the sales (as we do) and using friends and family weekends and points. However, since I fine-tuned my life to omit the mall from my errands except for a few times a year, we never find ourselves at BR. We desperately needed fashionable, high quality men's clothing at an affordable price, but we need it in a setting where we don't need to go to the dystopian hellscape that is the mall, nor do we have to just buy his clothes at Target. Enter, Bonobos. Definitely more on par price-wise with Blue Seven, BR or J Crew, Bonobos doesn't look or feel like the same old same old from those brands. Great colors and fabrics, fun prints... and, it's not at the Mall! You can come to the curve, be outside, split up to divide and conquer, and then wander over to Upper Crust or Cafe 501 for a meal. Classen Curve is becoming more like the Utiqua Square we were promised every day, and this is part of the reason why. Bonus: I was able to get two shirts on sale (30% off) for fathers day. I asked the clerk if this meant I couldn't return the shirts, since they were a gift and I wasn't totally sure what size would be best, and he kind of looked at me like I was nuts. He said anything could be returned... I know so many companies and stores that never let you return sale merchandise.
