Let me be real this place is a JOKE. I asked how much short French tips were and they told me $38. Cool. Then all of a sudden, when it's time to pay, it's $48? For what? Y'all just pulling numbers outta thin air now? That's scam behavior. Don't play with people's money if you can't even do nails right. One of my nails was CROOKED. Like noticeably. And guess what? No fix, no apology, no discount. Just vibes and attitude. They got me walking out looking like I did my own nails blindfolded. Oh and another thing. They got the nerve to leave nails thick, flat, and bulky like I asked for press-on bricks. This place is dirty. Hubby is getting a pedicure and after I visited the restroom I will decline! From the entrance to the rest of the areas in this salon to the restroom in the back, which sits across a room where a person is having other services, the door is open. I came here with some friends for a pedicure. I liked the overall place. The ambience is great, seating is great and clean. My friend did a dip for her manicure and she said it was really expensive and chipped a day after. I'm not 100% on that, but I wanted to send along the feedback from her end also. Stopped in for a badly needed fill. It was about 2:30 pm (Thursday) and it seemed to be a great time. It wasn't busy so I sat right down and got started. Staff were nice, but were chatting amongst themselves since business was slow. My tech was very quick and meticulous. He didn't miss a beat! One of my best fills yet! I was in and out in no time! Which was perfect for me as I was in between errands. Why the 4 stars? Firstly, The place seems relatively new (3-10 years?) but it looks dated. It's more of a personal preference. I like to feel that "spa like feel". That was lacking here. Secondly, the only thing I didn't care much for was that usually after all of the drilling and filing they oil your hands and you wash. That wasn't done here. My hands were lightly brushed off and the top coat was applied. It had 0 effect on the outcome of my nails. They look great, but my fingers and hands felt grimy and dirty. I so badly just wanted to wash them- and did so immediately after I left! Overall, I had a nice experience and the great work performed will make me return. Acrylic fill. $18 plus tip. read more

I don't plan to return here anytime soon--that includes the other CJ Nail salons in the area that are owned by the same person. This place has become far too comfortable with my money. What I mean is that service hasn't been as timely and results haven't been as great as when I was a new customer that they were trying to show loyalty to, in an effort to obtain my business. All to often, nail salons, dry cleaners, and car washes fail to realize that there are several other places that can appreciate loyalty. More specifically, on my most recent visit: After completing my nails, the same technician dropped me off to soak in a pedicure bath while she completed someone else's pedicure. That someone else entered after me, left before me, and was tended too while I watched my original technician service her. When it was clear that I wasn't accepting of such treatment, the technician had the never to ask: "are you mad?" Hmmmmmm...I bet she can answer her own question when I opted to not get a pedicure, didn't give a tip, and won't be returning for bad treatment. I love this place. Staff is kind and courteous. The area is well maintained. I've been here a few times. During busy hours it's a rush. I recommend best days to be here on slow days. Of course just like any other business setting. Today I arrived at 7:03pm for a lip wax because I googled their hours. As I arrived they were closed but the doors were still open. I asked for service and the lady had just left. Luckily one nail tech went out running to call the lady speaking in her language to come back in. Lol She came back and took care of the lip wax. As my daughter came back out - keep in mind we only wanted lip wax. - my daughters virgin eyebrows were WAXED! Her beautiful full eyebrows waxed. I didn't know how to react. Amazed of how beautiful they still look and how on "fleek" they are or mad, P.O. because she didn't listen or what.... I told the lady it's ok, she will regrown them. I was in Baytown for a work assignment had last gotten a shellac manicure a month prior to my arrival. TJ Nails was conveniently located across the parking lot from my hotel. I walked in on a Thursday afternoon and was promptly served. I had my old shellac color removed and a new one painted. The service was incredibly efficient and I was very impressed with the quality of the application. The shop was tidy and the staff was friendly. Removal + manicure + tip was $30, which is a steal compared to the Chicago prices I am used to having to pay. I would return here if my work brings me to Baytown again. read more

I've been here twice and only because I was on this side of town visiting my boyfriend. The first time I went was about 2 weeks ago and the service was pretty quick and loved how my nails came out. I showed the lady the picture on how I wanted my nails and she did a good job. Today was the second time I went and I had to wait about 10 minutes only because they were a bit busy. Another lady did my nails this time and she was really nice but when she was filing down my nails it stung a bit but over all she did a really good job with my refill. If I'm in the area which I usually am I will come back to get my pedicure and nails done. If you are in the Baytown area this place is not bad and their service is fair. read more

Recently i received the worst full set at this nail salon. I was rushed due to the nail tech starting one had before i had even decided on a color . then she proceeds to ask what length i wanted my nails , which i like to have very long, and she criticized me for it . I believe her not liking the choice of length is what led to all of my nails being different lengths . next came the shaping . I wanted a coffin shape but she gave me more of a square shaped and got upset and tried to charge me extra for asking her to fix the odd shape she had made . I will never visit again . read more

I came in for shellac and I was very rushed in picking a color because the tech had already started on one of my hands before I even had a chance to decide. He filed my nails and I asked for it to be round and they're slanted and crooked. He got up walked away before my nails were even done and the tech next to us had to finish the final coats of polish them for him. I don't like how they came out looking either, his placement of the polish makes it look like my nails are growing out already. read more

I went to TJ Nails before Christmas and took in 3 different designs that I wanted done on 6 nails. Nina was my tech and did an incredible job. I was charged $28 and gave her a $7 tip. I would've given 5 stars had I been on here at that time. Fast forward to January; my cousin went with me as a birthday present to get our nails done for Mardi Gras. I asked for Nina, brought in 2 designs for cousin and 3 designs for me. Nina said I could only choose 2 designs and someone else would do my cousins 2 designs. Nina started on my nails and a customer with an appointment came in (I didn't know they made appointments). I said I would wait but another tech came to finish my nails. In the meantime all the techs were gibber-jabbing very loudly in Vietnamese -- making me wonder if they were talking about me. We were charged $69; when I asked why so much they acted like they didn't understand what I was asking. Less than a week later, the color faded from purple to yellow and the polish came off; this was done also in shellac -- my Christmas polishing lasted over 3 weeks. No, I didn't go back so they could see it, but I will NOT go back EVER again. read more
