I have been going to TJ Maxx for decades. But I have noticed over the last couple years the quality of the clothing, the material it's made from is all junk. The shoe selection is really pathetic. This used to be the store go to find discount shoes. But everything is a garbage label. One thing that really irks me is that you're made to feel like a criminal at the checkout. I came to return an item, forgot my receipt. They needed my drivers license, gave me store credit, which was perfectly fine with me. I went to purchase something and when I used the gift card I just received, I had to show him my drivers license - again! To use a gift card?? TJ Maxx has a mix of clothing, shoes, accessories, and undergarments for the whole family. They also carry homegoods, luggage and pet items. All of these items are sold under the manufacturer's suggested retail price. I mostly shop these stores for homegoods and dog toys. While they did not have quite what I was looking for, the prices on comparable items were better than other similar stores in the area. read more

Terrible customer service - just went in to return an item. I wasn't greeted by the cashier. She was talking to the cashier next to her and finally turned to me and still no greeting. Just did my return transaction. At least I got a "have a good day". I worked for TJMaxx company and that is bad customer service. Be present with every customer no matter what! This is a Runway store, and carries a few designer brands most other TJ Maxx stores don't have. Theory is one of the ones I saw. There were only a few men's apparel items in the Runway category, with most of the focus on women's clothing. There isn't a huge selection, but if designer is your thing this may make you happy. I found a few items in the clearance racks that I had to have, and that was great. Savings were excellent! There were Runway items in clearance too. read more

Really wish their women's sleepwear department would carry some lightweight sleeveless or strappy nightgowns. Was in there recently and didn't see a single one! It's a waste of your time looking because they never have any. read more

Lots of empty shelves in the food section. Styles of women's clothes' also have changed, they do not carry Petite unfortunately. Always long lines and not much improvement since Covid days to hire more staff. No Polo Ralph lauren shirts for men either. Employees are not friendly and take forever to do a return. Love this store. They are practicing good sanitary conditions by requiring masks and providing sanitizer. They have people at the door to assure mask wearing. They have many discounted items which are of high quality ranging from shoes, clothes, to pet items and luggage. They have almost everything you need. I particularly love their jewelry counter which has both gold and costume jewelry. Lots to choose from. They have many cashiers so the line goes quickly. read more

Warning with merchandise credit on their cards. Huge warning. I had a card balance with $650.00 after a $40 purchase the card balance dropped to $300. This is a huge scam and it's been going on far too long. This store is stealing ppl money and most are too clueless to be aware! Buyer beware! We stopped at the store on Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd this afternoon to do some shopping. Two young males were shoplifting and one ran out of the store with a stolen handbag. The accomplice stayed in the store. Scottsdale cops were called and showed up. Apparently store management declined to prosecute these criminals. Doing so only emboldens their illegal activity. And customers ultimately pay high prices from losses like this. We believe this is wrong and will not shop at any of your stores again. read more

First of all, I think these business have gotten too big for their own good. Customer service is horrible!! They think because ppl will keep buying that they don't have to be nice. I went to purchase a Karl Lagersfeld purse and it was damaged. I asked the manager Lynn and she took her nasty, hand sanitizer that she used to blow her nose to wipe the purse! Disgusting!!! No thank you I don't want this purse now. Then she has the nerve to look at me and ask me "what?" Disgusting horrible people. This T.J. Maxx has great selection and is very clean. However, the employees look down on customers if they are returning something. Almost as if they are not allowed to return items. My sons shirt did not fit him, and I bought the shirt 2 days ago, why is my return looked down upon? They were looking at me nasty and had a rude attitude while I was returning a clean shirt with the tags that was tried on once. I haven't been to this store in a while and I forgot how much stuff they have! It's not just clothes - they have all sorts of kitchen items, home goods, and luggage as well. We were looking for a fancy party dress for my niece and found one at an amazing price. I rarely shop here but wanted to see if they had a deal on some shoes I needed. Found them, great was happy. Then I went to the check out and a cashier was telling me about their rewards program. It sounded really great so when she asked if I'd like to sign up, I said sure. Again, I rarely shop here so I'm thinking this is like the Kohls program. The cashier then asks for assistance with a credit card application! I immediately said, "wait, your rewards program requires for me to apply for a credit card?" The senior cashier said "Yes." I was taken aback as that is not what I had agreed to. So after going back and forth as to why I didn't need or want a credit card, the young cashier just rang up my purchase. I get the whole cross sale tactic but if you're going to sale something, give all the details. A reward program is WAY different than applying for a credit/charge card. So be careful when going to this store and they ask you if you want to join the rewards program. They are actually trying to get you to apply for a credit/charge card. If you shop at this store or their affiliates frequently then you may want it but just remember an application is an inquiry on your credit report. read more

So excited this morning I grabbed my new bathing suit top I had bought a week or so ago for my hawaii trip in one month, but realized it had a lock on it but as I lifted the "device" I noticed the top was damaged. I took my item in the store and the cashier wasn't understanding and kept saying if I cut the plastic lock system they have on the bathing suit top, there isn't anything they can do about it (return) and kept warning me as I tried to cut the plastic a few times but I needed to show her the damage. Even more frustrated I didn't want to return the item as it looked so perfect on and it's so hard to find a top that fits me. And the manager just stood there and gave me looks and did nothing and watched me walk out. I will not be shopping here again. BUYERS BE AWARE. I would understand it more if it was on a bathing suit bottom which come across bodily fluids but either way the one star is for the poor customer service and for not dealing with the issue at hand properly. I basically purchased a damaged item from this store and they won't take it back cause once you cut that plastic it's all yours. Pretty ridiculous when they can see their device damaged the fabric! I had no intentions of ever returning such a perfect top and did not have a receipt when I went in to show the manager the damaged top. Either way my top is now trash. Thanks TJ Maxx. read more

This store may be small in area but has big bargains inside. Compared to sister store Marshall's, the square footage may be limited but they pack the store with plenty of merchandise in a variety of departments. Its size is similar to most traditional TJ Maxx stores and it's unfair to compare it to Marshall's (or more specifically Marshall's Mega Store) for quantity of items in stock. I've visited this location numerous times and I'm thrilled to have found so many fabulous bargains. I'd much rather shop at this TJ Maxx location then any disastrously disorganized and filthy Ross store. read more

Plenty of options and the staff reminds me of a bunch of moms - they know how to scope deals, talk to you about anything, and are eager to help. Some messiness but imagine how hard it is to keep your closet or kids closests clean. Now imagine hundreds of people walking through your closet. It's going to get messy. This location has a good dog section and even some accidentally plant-based/vegan dog treats.. score! read more

TERRIBLE EMPLOYEES!!! They go against store policy and hold items for people longer than they should. Then they go and talk smack about paying customers with all the employees. So ridiculous they need new managers. The manager was terribly rude to us. Really happy to see that the employees are wearing masks, however during my visit to this location earlier today, i witnessed MULTIPLE customers unmasked. even when they reached checkout, the cashiers and other employees said NOTHING. Because of this i took the opportunity to tell the customer to wear a mask as it's required in store. Obviously, this escalated into the customer telling the manager??? and her following up with "we will take care of it." ONCE AGAIN, SHE SAID NOTHING TO HIM ABOUT HIS LACK OF A MASK. irresponsible and downright stupid. I'm not sure if it's the greed during these hard times making the store managers lazy with enforcing these rules but, let's do better and keep us money machines safe. read more

Wow I really love standing in line for fifteen minutes while the manager moves people out of the way to restock popcorn at the checkout instead of paying attention to the fact that the line is ten people deep. Two registers open with one lady making announcements for donations. Clearly the manager has no concept of customer service or she would have stopped stocking the popcorn to assist the now twelve people in line. read more

I like to think of TJ Maxx as an expensive version of Ross. I'm loathe to pay over $10 for a shirt, especially when I don't know the brand or quality. It could be a single wear/wash shirt that gets thrown away or it could be a keeper. That normally keeps me away from TJ Maxx unless I can't find what I'm looking for at Ross. Luckily, this trip to TJ Maxx was a good one. I got 2 shirts, a pair of shorts, and a pair of shoes for under $80. If it was at Ross, I'd definitely pay less, but these were nice shirts that seemed to be of good quality. (Cross your fingers!) The items here are more "fashionable" than some of the items at Ross as well, so that's a plus. Also, this store seems larger than Ross with a wider variety of items. (More home goods and definitely more men's items.) If you are looking for a bargain, defiantly check it out. read more

This is probably the best TJ Maxx fest I've had in awhile and that's saying something! After a long day working the Barrett Jackson auto auction I had to coordinate my lyft home and stop by for some essentials for my new apartment. Me having that human weakness I first glanced through the jewelry department ( because some of my favorite pieces have been found here) and sure enough I snag this gorgeous Italian rose gold necklace for a steal. I then proceeded onwards to the home goods section, not before I spot one of my favorite soap bars! :::snagged::: finally I make my way to the back and find everything I need from a lovely Cynthia Rowley neutral toned paisley print shower curtain to the perfect antique copper finished shower hooks of course a liner and a non-slip mat. Then I find the perfect tiny simplehuman step can waste bin in an also lovely brushed metallic finish AND some great kitchen tools as well. I am so sad this store is over 25 miles away from me but my bank account is grateful because this place could be dangerous for me!!! read more

Been to this story many times and now and then you will find a nice little treasure. Today however an employee at this place pissed me off to no end with such lack of customer service and personality, that it made my blood boil. She has helped me check out once before and I thought she had a bad day then, but today...WOW, I have no words. I purchased a cooling pad for my dog on Tuesday, it ended up being too small so I returned it in perfect shape, packed back in the original box and with receipt. Walked in the store, there was no line. This "lovely" person was standing at the first register. Since there was no line I walked up to the register. ZERO acknowledgement from her! I asked is she could help me, looking straight at me, there was ZERO acknowledgement for what seemed an eternity. It was like I wasn't even standing there. Again I asked if she could help me. Without changing expression she told me to go wait in line. Looking behind me there was nobody in line. I asked her is I needed to go back and walk through the Disneyland style line even though there was nobody in line. She said yes, then changed to "I guess I can help you." Told her I had a return, placed the item on the counter and presented my receipt. At no time during the transaction did she acknowledge or speak to me. The only command I received was to "slide your card." Sammy, I believe her name was from the name tag, has no business working in retail. This is the second time I have experienced her less than stellar demeanor. I know its not an easy job, but treating a customer like I was treated today, simply going in, being friendly, making a return was uncalled for. Go to the HomeGoods Marshalls store at Desert Ridge. This particular TJX is a perfect 20 minute time killer on a Saturday. You walk in, look at the clothes racks, decide they look exactly like the last time you were here, and head to the exit. But just before exiting, you look to the left and see the vast array of well priced, quality luggage. After doing this myself on many occasions, I can now write that I own enough luggage for a family of twelve. Many TJX stores have a decent clothing selection, however, this store is not one of them. read more

I love this place. It doesn't matter what off the wall idea I have, they have what I need. I needed mugs on Christmas Eve for a brunch the next day (because I realized last minute that I had 4 and a bunch of people were coming the next morning). I actually found 6 matching mugs that I loved (wished I could have found more, but I was super glad I got what I got). I always find the best clothes for my daughter, as well. read more

I was in the jewelry dept wanting to look at a watch. Of course, I love to shop at TJ Maxx but the staff here just make me feel very uncomfortable. Tonight, they made me feel like I did something terribly wrong and made them angry. The selection here isn't really that good and there are broken items on the shelf. I notified an employee of a broken candle and she looked at it and didn't remove it. Also, the staff is extremely aggressive in offering credit cards. To the point where it's super uncomfortable. They just keep pushing. I bought some hair products and asked prior to check out if I could return them if I didn't like them. They assured me I had 30 days. I returned them within a week and they gave me a hard time about returning them. I also noticed how some of their items are way over priced. Like beach towels for $20 a towel. In the corner of the Albertson's/Target shopping center, I don't find this place all that great, just sort of "there!" Once in a while I'll stop in here, and I've found a few things to buy- a video camera case, a sweatshirt, etc. etc. I prefer Marshall's at Desert Ridge and most all of the Ross stores in the area, compared to this place. read more
