We dont have a Marshalls yet in Santa Maria (not yet! crossing my fingers) and there is no question in my mind: TJ Maxx is the preferred store for bargain brand names. No comparison to Ross. Ross is a jungle. TJ Maxx is an oasis. Things are usually in order, lines move fast, lots of decent stock, and the staff is nice. read more

The selection is hit or miss at this one, for apparel and purses. I haven't been lucky finding viral items, as other stores i been too. Associates are friendly at this location. Never had an issue here, just the selection is alright. read more

Today was my first time ever stopping by the restroom in this location. I have to say I was surprised at the amount of things that were out of order. The elevator to get to the 2nd floor restroom was out of service. Next, the wheelchair accessible stall did not have a door (thus there is no wheelchair accessible stall at all). Last but not least, the changing table was also posted as out of order. The sheer amount of things broken seemed to me unlikely to have all happened today. I feel that there should be some urgency to fixing these accessibility issues for non-able bodied folks as well as caretakers of young children. read more

I recently visited the Santa Maria TJMaxx and accidentally dropped my phone/wallet with cash and credit cards inside. When I went next door to get groceries I discovered my missing phone/wallet. I panicked, rushed back to TJMaxx, sure that I would never find my valuables again. I went to the jewelry counter, asled a sales clerk, Berta R. ,if she found a wallet. She responded, "I have been paging you, I found your wallet and put in a safe locker until your return.". I was so very grateful. I love TJMaxx and their courteous, helful, honest staff. I will always be grateful to Berta for rescuing me that day! read more

It doesn't matter what time or day you go, they always have only 1-2 slow ass cashiers and other employees just standing around being lazy and a long ass line of customers, if they know how busy this store gets why can't they get more people to work the register read more

I occasionally go to the store to buy cosmetics, Hair care, Shower gel, clothes, Starbucks coffee, at a cheaper price, and miscellaneous items such as spices. They have an assortment of olive oil which could be cheaper than the prices of this item at supermarkets. The staff is polite and there's always somebody at the changing rooms, the shopping lines move quickly and they have a system that speeds up customer waiting time. read more

Good finds and steals when fully stocked, however they need more options available as there is alot of foot traffic which means there needs to be supply and demand. Somewhat organized at times but sometimes bare and empty. The number one complaint i would say is customer service, 2 days ago I had a new staff member (very young woman with heavy makeup talk to me in a very odd/disrespectful manner. The new staff need to be educated and trained on proper customer service manners, they don't know how to communicate to customers if a part or product was put on the shelfs correctly, don't accuse the customer--ask a coworker for advice or manager before you go accusing them on something. I only bought a $10 valued item and she asked me if I stole this leg that was in it, it was a little plastic leg for crying out loud i thought it came with it. Kindly tell the customer, sorry but this doesnt go with it. Dont talk down and say this doesnt belong here why did you put that here, most of the staff here have been very kind. Get it together people common customer service skills arent that hard to learn, believe me Ive worked retail. read more

This T.J. Maxx is great. There's always a variety of anything you could think of that you would find at a TJ Maxx. They have a great selection of bags and purses, they have a lot of clothing. One thing that they don't have that we wish they would is men's shoes and more of a variety of plus size clothing for men and women. They have a lot to choose from when it comes to children and baby clothing as well as toys. The home section is great as well. The store is always well kept and they do you have a clean restroom if you ever need it while you're there. read more

Nice location! A bit smaller than other TJ Maxx locations but nice selection! They carry MLB Dooney & Bourke purses & wallets. This time they offered LA Dodgers, Chicago Cubs & SF Giants bags and wallets. Loved their skincare offerings too. Found lots of Shiseido products! Today is Wednesday and looks like they just received a whole bunch of new merchandise. Employees pushing large bins out & stocking in all departments. Really like this location! read more

Extreme lack of customer service. Bought 2 Michael kors items and as I was paying for them there was an issue and the cashier started whispering with another employee on the side and then another employee got involved. Meanwhile everyone in line was looking at me like I stole it! I tried to ask the cashier what the problem was but she could only tell me that "it beeped" I tried offering examples on what she meant but she would only say "it beeped" Another employee comes from the back. I hear someone say to check the price, make sure it's in there. If your going to accuse me of tampering with the item at least be respectful and say we are just double checking the item or make up a lie at least. I rather drive the hour to the next location then deal with this type of service read more

Have to give them credit for keeping this place reasonably neat even during Christmas season. Good selection and even when the line is super long it usually goes fast with many registers open. read more

Horrible customer service. It's very sad because I otherwise love the products and prices in this store. There are a couple male employees who are friendly enough but the majority of the employees, and one blonde female with glasses inparticular, is awfully rude. It really ruins my shopping experience every time I'm in the store. If I need to go I try to get in and out quickly and not ask anyone for help. And god forbid you go within an hour of closing time. Everyone is sighing loudly, making calls over the intercom every 5 min of how much longer until they close, giving you dirty looks, taking on their walk-e-talk-E's ABOUT you infront of you, "ya...there's one female in the back aisle, she's starting to walk toward the front..." Anyway like I said, if the customer service were better I'd spend a lot more time there. read more

I am a father of two girls and used to be a general manager at Old Navy and I can tell you that TJ Maxx is one of the most disorganized store I have ever seen in my life. I couldn't believe how disorganized it was. There were clothes every where. It looked like a little kids bedroom when its not clean. I went to TJ Maxx to get daughter some new clothes and they were so disorganized that we couldn't find a single thing. Even worse when she went to try on these shoes she wanted and there two different shoes in the box. I tripped over so much clothes heading toward the dressing rooms. That's how disorganized the dressing rooms were. I got to say that this was the most horrifying thing ever. TJ Maxx is the worst store I have been to. I would never let my family shop there again. It was so disgusting that I wanted to leave right away. When we got home my daughter told she never wanted to go back there again. I bought a Michael Kors watch for my mother as a gift for the holidays at the Santa Maria, CA location. She decided to return the watch and they were going to give her store credit and she said she would wait and try to find the receipt so the could go back to my bank card instead. We couldn't find the receipt so she went back to the store a second time and this time they accused my mother of changing the tag because it "didn't match" the description of the watch. I found the receipt a couple of days later and went back to TJMaxx in Santa Maria. However, when I went back with the receipt and spoke to the manager Marie she said that it was "easy to miss" the description on the tag and get confused. Those are terrible and serious accusations to make against any customer!! Will be contacting CEO and president of merchandise to complain. Will not be shopping at TJMaxx again. 4-2-16. OMG!!! The worst service EVER from the woman in the jewelry department!!! So unprofessional. I was trying on a ring and it got stuck on my finger. So I asked if she had any lotion. She didn't! She acted like I had committed a crime or something. She was useless. Lady, you're working in the jewerly department. Have some lotion on hand with tissues or paper towels. Something. I'm even okay she wasn't prepared. It was her ATTITUDE that floored me. Not to mention I turned and caught her whispering and rolling her eyes to another sales associate. Still I ignored her. I asked to see a braclet on the other side of the counter. Omg!!! Here we go again! Attitude!! At this point I'd had it. I told her never mind. I'll go somewhere else. Again the interaction with the other sales girl of faces and eye rolling. This all happened in about 7 minutes. I had other shopping to do but decided not to give them my service and left.
