My son wanted to go shopping and we headed over to our local shopping mall. It was a waste of time, we walked through every store and he didn't find anything. We decided to drive over to Tilly's. This is the usual place he shops at. I think the prices are a bit to high but they do have a lot more selection. The staff is very eager and is always asking if you need help. It was great because we did need help. They checked in the back for different sizes we needed and were very helpful. My son bought a sweatshirt, two tees and a pair of jeans , he spent a little more than $200. I thought it was pricey but I guess that's the regular price for clothes these days at those kinds of stores. He was happy with his purchase and we even ended up signing up for their rewards program. Walked in and was not greeted by staff. walked passed a couple of employees all bunched up at the checkout register and still was not acknowledge. Waited for about 5 minutes by the dressing rooms for someone to help me till I finally found someone to open the doors. When I was done shopping and went to pay for my things and the cashier didnt ask about my experience tonight and luckily she didnt because I would've let them know of what a poor job they did. Krystina the Manager is the only reason I come here. Her customer service is A1, she definitely knows her products and makes sure you walk out with what you want. During my visit yesterday she turned a shirt I was buying around and showed me the back just to make sure I knew/liked what I was purchasing! Stay far away... First you have a trailer trash manager Cory, who thinks she's it. Living in Santa Maria honey, you ain't it! My daughter brings her things back, with RECEIPT! Rude, obnoxious has no customer service qualities. Go to the library Cory, it's a big building with books and learn what "Guest Service" is. Embarrassing a customer doesn't earn you brownie points. That was yesterday, I personally phoned her this evening around 7:30pm, rude and very unacceptable. Remember, the customer is always right. A manager who is rude disrespectful, lacks many things. She is not worth my time. I've been in retail for twenty-five years and would never treat a "Guest," the way she did. I expect more from Tilly's. Well, not anymore. I'd rather shop at Kohl's. Very positive experience! This was my first time at Tilly's in Santa Maria. I was greeted during my shopping by several employees who offered to assist me. When the size I needed was up high, two girls brought over the pole to get it down and stayed and talked to me for awhile. The employee who unlocked the dressing room door for me asked my name and remembered me when I left, calling out a personal good bye to me after my purchase. I left with a smile feeling like I'd made some new friends. read more

I bought a pair of pants with the worst smell so I decided to wash the pants hoping the smell would come out, it didn't. I bought these pants a couple months ago but haven't gotten around to return them because I live 50 miles away. I tried returning them but the manager was rude and told us to call tillys customer service head quarters and she was rude as well. Telling me no you've worn the clothes no return. I never wore the pants I tried them on and washed them hoping to get the smell out. Tillys sells defective clothing. These pants were $43 don't waste your time buying anything here it's made in China. $43 down the drain. Thanks. read more

Horrible customer service. Shopped here for back to school and you would think for being overpriced they may be nicer but nope! Girl working there got mad because my kids (teenagers) were looking at shirts she was folding. Then I saw her talking through her headset with another employee while looking at my family. read more

They lock their dressing rooms so you have to find a staff member just to try something on. Not many workers so that's a hassle. Not huge selection either. read more

Ordered a pair of shoes online with a discount code and after two weeks I didn't receive an shipment confirmation email. I called, and I was notified that my order had been cancelled due to none of the warehouses having it in stock. I live in Bakersfield, but I came to Santa Maria to visit so I came to this location. We came across a cashier named Mercedes, I explained the situation so I asked her for my size. Instead of her going to look for the size she stayed at the register. There was a group of employees chit chatting while they had a line. I didn't see Mercedes moving so I asked a gentleman working there for the shoe since she wasn't moving and he brought it right away. I went to checkout and the "manager" named GABBY was not friendly at all. I explained to her my situation and she told me she wasn't able to apply the discount in the store. So i told her I'd make the order online to pick up in store and left. I tried ordering online to use the code and none were available online so I called and let her know. She told me there was nothing she can do when in other locations they have homered the discounts in this type of situation. She was so rude and I told her I was never going back and I experienced the worst customer service. I shop at tillys a lot and she made my experience so uncomfortable and difficult. I'm never coming back to this location and I'll be calling corporate to make a complaint. And it looks like I'm not the first nor will be the last complaining about the customer service at this location if they keep these employees. read more
