The manager is a real treat at this store. I purchased catnip infused bubbles for my cat and some cat treats. The "bubbles" were a glue like consistency and there was no way you could blow bubbles through the wand of glue. The cat treats were rock hard. I brought the items back the next day and explained the issues. The manager proceeded to take the bubbles out and attempt to blow bubbles herself, which of course was impossible. She then said she could refund my money for that item, but not for the cat treats since my cat "didn't like them". She suggested I donate them to Paws and Claws. I told her no cat would eat those because they are rock hard and told her to throw them away. She refused to refund my money. What a joke. I love TJ Maxx. When I lived in Rochester, the city did not have one. Naturally, when I move away from a city, all stores that I like seem to set up shop. You're welcome, Rochester residents... haha! I was curious to find out whether there was a TJ Maxx. I did a search and found this store near Apache Mall. I decided to drive over here to check it out before heading to the mall. This store is in a plaza-mall hybrid. There was lots of parking on a snowy Wednesday afternoon. I parked and headed over to the store. It's an interesting setup where the TJ Maxx-HomeSense store feels like you are in a mall. You go through the main entrance and you walk over to the store in a mall-like setting. However, not all stores are accessible indoors. Many are set up like a plaza where you have an entrance for each store. It's weird. As with most TJ Maxx stores, the purses tend to appear first. I do miss the days when you could readily find Kipling purses. These days, you get Disney and Snoopy ones, which are still up my alley, but aren't as lightweight as Kipling ones. I tend to look at luggage. I had already bought a piece that worked well for my needs, but it never hurts to check this section out. I liked the selection. It had a number of pet duffle bags. It was my first time seeing them at any store's travel section. The face care section is impressive. I have never seen so many face wipes and masked neatly stacked. This store had purple Crocs. I don't own a pair, mainly because I can never find a pair in my size. I was so close here. One day, my dream will come to fruition. The kitchen accessories section made me happy. I found an oil spritzer with a glass base. I've always wanted one and it was at a good price here. Although the base is glass, it's pretty lightweight. I am also a sucker for small appliances. Mainly Dash products were available. I love this brand. I have mini griddle and waffle makers. I didn't need one, but they do make great gifts. The phone accessories section is great, too. I like checking out everything from car phone mounts to portable bank chargers. The lineup wasn't bad. I had a nice woman at the checkout. She looked at my oil spritzer and said that it would be good for plants. That's true, especially for cactuses and succulents that don't require a ton of water. I paid with a credit card. The transaction was straightforward. I thanked the woman and left with my purchase. I'm thrilled that Rochester has a TJ Maxx. It has a decent selection of items that interest me. I worked here do not care about employees or customers clicky with awful people who are very unprofessional not understanding when your sick or when injured and disabled treat them so terribly hard workers are not valued over petty things such as calling of when real sick or surgery or disability complications. They say their flexible total lie, NOT AT ALL allowing drug users back to work before someone who called out for valid reasons. They also allowed troubled problematic people to come back and literally make people quit because of bulling and bad behavior clicking together with other awful people Debra is rude disrespectful has been complained about with consequences I dont understand it, definitely not a friendly environment to work in and you will not be valued no matter how much you neglect your health or pain to be there and be overworked they can care less believe me! This is the best store. Clean and inviting. Quick and fun. cashiers. Got so many good things And had fun.

Plan on having a lot of time if you go here, so much to sift through but its so fun.

Love this store, always coming in here for gourmet goodies and housewares. Last week I got a awesome deal on boxed flatware. Be aware the inventory changes constantly so don't expect something to be there you saw a week ago. read more

Of the dozens of TJMaxx, Marshalls, or Home Goods I have been to...this is THE SLOWEST one out there. Regardless of day or time I have been here, you can ALWAYS expect a line at checkout. They never have enough people checking out folks. They often just have employees standing around behind registers too and not checking out folks when there are lines, I just don't get it. Imagine the long lines at Christmas, that is what you can expect here any time you go. I have not purchased things I wanted to and just put them back because I did not want to spend my time in the line. Management if you read these...you need to schedule appropriate staffing at registers, no one wants to wait 20 minutes+ in line there, they will go elsewhere. read more

Store ok and busy. Checkout not so great. Older white hair lady Debbie or dedra was not friendly or positive at all. Complained it took me too long with a cane to get to her line. Spoke to me in a robotic tone with no eye contact. Gave me the death stare when I dared to pay with cash. Complained she had yo open a coin roll to make my change. She doesn't belong in customer service with this negative rude attitude. If I didn't like the items I found I would've walked off and forgot about it. read more

This TJ's has always been my favorite. I was shopping there even before the big expansion and I just always have such luck with the selection they have and I like that you can park in the back of the plaza and sneak in the back door and down a hall and there you are. No messing with the craziness in parking lots for me. Back to shopping though. The store is bright and clean and organized. I think they have a great selection of clothing probably geared more towards the 25-45 year old working woman. They do have other sizes for jr's and older ladies but the seleciton is above average in this target age and taste I think You can get so many cute clothes for little ones and school aged children too. The housewares department is the bombdiggity. So many things I use and see everyday in my house have come from this wonderful store. read more

Lots of spring stuff here now. I got a swimsuit and a new set of queen sheets. One thing nice about tj is they always let you return things even when it was the only one in the rack. I bought a pair of skinny jeans and once I got them home I found the seam was crooked. I brought them back two weeks after I bought them and they let me return them no problem. read more

Great shopping, always different. You can get some really great bargains if you know your brands. I particularly like the shoe dept. You can also find some decent prices of bedding too, especially feather pillows. read more

I spend a lot of time here just browsing. Its kind of spotty finding stuff thats good. You have to be sure and try everything on cuz they could fit funny or the sizes could be weird. However you can get some really great deals on designer things sometimes. I like to buy kids clothes here, some of it is really unique. They have a large housewares department too. Really nice gourmet cookware and spices and such. Some of it can be missing parts so examine everything. I sometimes buy my sheets here they have excellent prices on high thread count queen & king sizes. Shoes are fun to shop for, they have same crazy styles, but the sizes are pretty limited. read more

I'm just happy Rochester has a store like this. I used to venture into Marshalls in my hometown and found all sorts of goodies. You never know what you'll find, or go in there and find more than you initially wanted to get. Fairly organized for a clearance styled brand store, usually the racks are discombobulated and items are hard to find. The only area I can say this is applicable is the cosmetics, but it is still grouped together by item type no matter how scattered it is on the shelves. read more

I went into this place Friday and was amazed at all the selection. I always thought it was just women's items. I picked up ear buds, a couple more shirts, a fry plan and underwear. Really decent prices for brand name stuff. Easy to get around and find things. Sales people are very helpful. They have a ton of home decor items and a pretty large men's clothing department. They also have some specialty electronics, things you'd see in Sharper Image like cell chargers, led lights, electronic tools. read more

I'm more of a Marshalls kind of girl but I like the home goods part of this store. Their clothing selection could be a little more diverse.

We travel a great deal and always stop at TJ Maxx. This is--if not the best--one of the better stores they operate. Good selection!

Management is great (Jody). Selection is always different. Seems like new merchandise always arriving. Return policy is good. Staff friendly. Check out staff has been nice and cheerful, conversational. It seems with how often I am here, that I would have seen at least one staff with a bad day, but not so! No "attitude' here! My new fav is their jewelry department. Purses and accessories continue to be worth the stop. Very good prices, too. Towels are a great find as well, 100% cotton and thick, great price!
