My love for Macy's happened years after I had left living in Rochester. I like that there are always sales going on. Macy's ignited my love for Style & Co. clothing and Kipling handbags. I decided to check out this Macy's. I had never been since it became one. The women's washroom has a couch when you first walk in, which looked classy. The washrooms need better maintenance, though. The stall that I was in was great. I can't say the same about the one next to it. I liked the sale happening on ugly Christmas sweaters. 70% off them is a great deal if you plan on wearing it to the company Christmas party and winning the ugly sweater competition. There are a number of them that will get you that crown or tiara. I loved hitting the Kipling handbag section. It had heavily reduced items. I also saw a bit of a shift with its signature monkey, from the fuzzy one on each back, to silver ones. The fuzzy ones are iconic and cute. The silver ones are definitely easier to clean and maintain. I didn't buy anything, but I loved looking at merchandise that I like, including jewellery. I'd come back and hope that they do something about the washrooms. (25)

I purchased 3…read moresmall leather purses and specifically asked and received permission to return them by a date beyond the usual return date. Upon my return of the purses within the allotted time, the clerk gave me a hand written receipt showing the purses were returned and also showing my purchase that day of a pair of shoes. The returned purses were to be credited against the shoe purchase. By mistake the clerk charged me again for the returned purses as well as for the new shoe purchase. A few months later when I realized what the clerk had done, I brought the handwritten receipt into the store, and a copy of my credit card bill. I explained the lack of credit for the purses and that they had been again charged to me a second time. The manager that day accused me of stealing the purses and shoes despite my showing the handwritten receipt from their store signed by their clerk and my charge card statement. The manager refused to give me my $300 plus, or a credit or the purses back. The returned three purses were all visible in the store that day. When I talked with the owner she lied and said she had no way of checking her inventory to see whether or when the purses were returned. So she too refused to refund my $300 plus, give me a credit or give me back the purses. The owner also said since I had not brought this to her attention earlier, even if I was telling her the truth, she would not give me back my money, a credit or the purses. Even a year later I noted the store still had two of the purses for sale which I had returned. The clerk told me they had only originally ordered one of each purse and these were from the original order not reordered by the store. That is these two purses were the ones I had returned which the owner said she had no way of tracing. LIES AND FRAUD were all this store was good for.

I am reviewing Miracle Mile Shopping Center for sentimental reasons. I recently dined at Denny's…read morenext door to this plaza. Although it deems itself as the oldest shopping centre in Rochester, it's really a plaza. It was established in 1952 and there was a major fire in 1971. I'm happy to report that these events were both well before my time! I dropped by this plaza a handful of times as a resident of Rochester. There used to be a gift shop that sold Midwest of Cannon Falls s'mores characters. I bought a few of these characters as Christmas ornaments and a larger one that was a lamp. They are still with me to this day, but this company folded, as did this gift shop. Cannon Falls is maybe a twenty-minute drive northwest of Rochester. I don't recognize that town since I moved away. It's the same about Miracle Mile. Hom Furniture is one of two businesses that rings a bell. There's a new grocery store called Fresh Thyme Market. I exited Highway 52 and you can't miss this supermarket's large sign from it. I'd estimate that there are roughly thirty businesses in this plaza. Olmsted Medical Center is still kicking around, which is the other place that has endured. This plaza is perfect for folks who live close by and don't want the bustling feel of being downtown. This shopping plaza is roughly two blocks away from the Mayo Clinic's St. Mary's Campus. There is plenty of parking at Miracle Mile. I'll need to check this plaza out more closely when I'm back again and it's not my final full day in Minnesota, especially Fresh Thyme Market. It was quite the flashback heading over here. So much change here. Even the Hardee's across the street is gone! (47)

I emailed Jes with multiple pictures of a storage cabinet and end table - both in very nice condition - and asked, "do you take pieces like this?" Her response was a simple "yes." Based on that confirmation, my husband and I went through the trouble of getting a trailer, loading the items, and even taking time off work to deliver them. However, when we arrived, Jes refused to accept the pieces. When my husband showed her the email where she had said "yes," she claimed that she didn't mean "yes" she would take those exact items. When pressed, she admitted she "probably should have been more clear." This was extremely unprofessional and a complete waste of our time, effort, and money. To make matters worse, she also complained that our trailer was blocking her alleyway, despite the fact that we were there because of her prior approval, and had pulled the trailer over far enough that cars could get by. Clear communication, respect and accountability are basic expectations in any business, and this experience fell far short. I will never be returning and would caution others to think twice before relying on their process.
