This store is super organized, clean, and tidy. Wide aisles and lots of light. Tuesday at 3:30 pm, mid-August, to give you an idea. customer service of my cashier was spectacular and very warm. We chatted for a while, really enjoyable! You find quality and very good prices on clothing, non-perishable foods, household items, skincare, face care, body care, fragrances, school supplies, etc. I didn't have trouble finding sizes. Only the women's underwear was somewhat hidden... Variety of brands, but very high quality in everything... very good prices and clearance areas. I got some popcorn, a trail mix, some different flavored liqueurs to put in my coffee/ other drinks, some black Adidas socks for my uniform... very good prices! My second review in a week !!! What is going on with stores in my area??!??!? I love TJ Maxx but this location is insane. Tomorrow is my birthday (yay!) and I decided to shop around to treat myself because I won't have the time tomorrow. So, I found a Bogg Bag for $40 which is a steal for me, and picked up some other things I needed. As I walk around the store, I realize that there are no associates working on the floor. Interesting, but I'm not in the mood to put up a fight today. Now, I get on line, dreaming about all of the fun beach days with my new bag. There has been about 20 people in front of me in line for 45 minutes now, and tell me why there is only 2 associates checking people out. Also, one associate has been helping the same customer since I've been on line, and other only associate is only taking cash. I deal with this every time I come to this location, and honestly it's going to steer me away from this location at this point. I have been in line longer than I shopped in the store, but hey, a deal is a deal. read more

I come here all the time to shop & get my holiday and birthday presents but yesterday on November 17th 2025 I was targeted & followed around the whole store by a floor walker and felt harassed .. I used to shop here when I lived nearby. I hate shopping. I parked in the front of the building which required me to take the escalator up to the store. I should have parked in the rear of the building, which is located on the same level of the 2nd floor store. I was looking for a white cotton dress shirt with french cuffs. They did not have any white cotton dress shirts. They had sporty white shirts with stretch material. I did not want that type of informal white shirt. I preferred a more formal white cotton dress shirt. Therefore I did not purchase a white shirt. read more

I love shopping in TJ Maxx stores. I find the coolest items in the gourmet section. This location has ample parking and everything for the most part is tidy and organized. The check out line has been pretty horrendous during my visits which are during the week, usually before noon. During one of my visits I went before an appointment and ended up leaving before checking out because they were more than 50 people checking out in front of me. In our world, TJ stands for many things. It is shorthand for Trader Joes, or TJ Maxx, or Mr. Vegas (Tom Jones) or the initials of several friends. TJ always sounds good to my ear. TJMaxx is to retail what a variety TV show used to be in the 1960's -- a little something for everyone. I rarely go here on purpose -- it is necessarily a random visit followed by random, impulse purchases -- mostly because TJ's rarely stocks any specific item in large quantities or for very long. Closeouts and overruns are the game here -- and if you patiently wade through the narrow messy aisles and hit it right -- you can score quality stuff for cheap. Similar to the paradigm of it's sister company -- Home Goods -- TJ's focus is primarily on mens/women's/children's clothing, shoes, accessories and jewelry -- with a dash of Home Goods thrown in for good measure. This is one of Sweeties go-to joints for retail therapy -- and mostly -- I just tag along. Top Tip: Avoid between the hours of 1 and 2:30 on weekdays -- when the check out lines are jammed with stay at home suburban moms and nannies -- frenetically loading up their carts -- before making a mad dash to area schools in their oversized SUV's for pickups. read more

This is a HUGE TJs, located above a Bed Bath and Beyond. The merchandise here is varied and not always organized. Its varied as they cater to the local area, which has many affluent people and just as many not as affluent, so they have different types and levels of things. I don't find this to be the cleanest or best organized TJs I frequent, but it probably has the most varied selection options. Also here are BBB, and Fairway, and Best Buy, so its a useful mall in that respect. Parking here is not terrific, but it is right off Route 17 North, and that's easy. read more

Worst customer service! They do not care about customers stealing their merchandise but will charge you well over the price of half stolen items! They are also rude to their customers and will go out of their way to mock and ridicule them! Think twice about shopping at this location... heck just go there and take whatever you want because the manager said they are too busy to watch the floor and don't care if people steal. Unreal! Time to get some new staff! Worst management I've ever experienced! I went to TJ Maxx to buy a few shirts and the line for the register was out the door. I waited in line for 45 minutes with about 60 other annoyed people because there were only two cashiers available, 1 being a new person in training and the other being the manager. I have been shopping at the TJMaxx in Ridgewood for many years. I always have had a good experience until I wanted to return a purchase I had done months ago. Even though all the pieces had the store tags on the garments I was denied by two , what I suppose where managers, since they never introduced themselves. I have been in retail sales , dept manager roles and customer service rep. I have worked for a major retail store for the past 23 , they have pride themselves in customer service and have always taken returns without making the customer feel they were in the wrong. I will not shop at this retailer again, and have happily closed my retail card with them. read more

This store is a mess, I'm going to keep this one short. If you plan to come in on a Saturday, plan accordingly. I waited 37 minutes (timed) to make a 20 dollar return. This place is an absolutely mad house, the staff here need serious help. Also, why do I feel like I'm going through a garage sale when I'm trying to check out... I shop here mostly for children's clothes and toys, home items, and shoes. Nice selection of items and good prices. Love the Melissa and Doug you area. I wish the store was more clean and organized, and could feel more spacious as well. The checkout line moves way to slow! I have never had a quick experience when paying for my items. Line is always super long and there are empty cashiers that could be opened. Several times I have left before purchasing because I did not have the time or patience to wait. read more

9:30 am doors open and I'm first. 9:30 am = Merchandise is organized 9:30 am = staff is friendly if somewhat asleep. 9:31 am = I'm first one on line at the register. Good sized store but not one of the more upscale TJ's and it didn't feel like they had that much of an assortment. I've been this TJ Maxx a few times (I prefer to go to the one in Westwood) and I do like the selection of items here. They have a lot of bags and shoes that I don't usually see in other TJ Maxx locations and I also like their phone case selection. The only gripe I have about this store is the organization. A lot of things sections are messy and it makes it harder to look for things. They had a few Frye boots in their shoe section that were really cute and the price was phenomenal but the shoes were all in disarray and I spotted a box that had my size listed on the outside, but once I opened the box, it was the wrong size I also understand that the disorganization might also be due to customers not putting things back in the right place, so it's not entirely the store's fault. Another complaint that I have is the temperature in the store - it has been blazing hot the past few times I've been here. Not sure if it's me or the store. Waiting on a long line while sweating is never ideal. I guess there is a lot of give & take - I've been successful in finding great shoes and a few clothing items here so I will be coming back but I hope they fix the few problems that they have. read more

I love shopping at TJ Maxx but have been very disappointed recently with the customer service. I came to this location to return items purchased online and the cashier was very obviously annoyed about this, telling me that it's easier to just ship it back, as she now has more work to do. She told me that return shipping was free, however upon further investigation on the website, I found that it actually costs an additional $10. Furthermore, both the cashier and the manager told me that because it was more than 40 days since purchase, I technically shouldn't even be getting store credit. Again, I looked this up online and there is no mention of that. I don't know why online returns are such a hassle, but it has pretty much guaranteed that I will never again order from TJ Maxx online. I also think the store associates should be better educated on the actual rules and restrictions and not make the customer feel shitty for returning an item that he or she did not want. read more

Supposedly the best TJ Maxx in the area, however the pros don't outweigh the cons. Pros: Larger store, organized/efficient/spacious line waiting area, large "Designer" section than any other TJ's around, easy to find parking on 2 levels and 1 level is its own parking lot. Cons: Very disorganized and messy compared to other smaller TJ's, presumably due to the greater amount of traffic coming through. Although it is a bit larger store, I find that I find less things I like there in comparison and a lot more "junk"; note I'm taking into consideration that these stores are always hit or miss. I find the shoe selection to be small. Jewelry section is below average size and often doesn't have unique pieces. And the worst part: THE LINE IS ALWAYS LONG. Despite the waiting area being longer than any other store, somehow the line often goes outside the designated area. There have been many times I have found a few things I like and have put them down simply because I don't want to wait on the line. The line does move rather quickly, however it is so absurdly long that I still don't have the patience to wait on it. They have many counters, and they do utilize most of them usually, however I guess there are just so many people that it doesn't help much. read more

One of the biggest TJ Maxx stores in NJ. This place carries almost everything from clothes to electric toothbrush replacements. This place is pretty well kept, too. If you are ever in need of any assistance, the staffs are hard to find though. read more

My typical go to TJ Maxx, the variety's def getting better here. I scored a soft leather COACH bag at a great deal, among other name brands. The brands are getting better.. I love TJ Maxx and Marshalls stores. This is one of the better stores in the area, they always have a good selection. i've had better luck in this location then and several others. My one complaint is that often when I'm in here it is been very hot. I'm not sure if it's been a temporary thing, a problem with the heat. But the temperature has been up very high in the store, so much so that I've had to leave before I wanted to because I started to feel sick. I hope they fix that, so I can spend more time browsing in here. this is definitely store to check out if you're in the area. read more

It's located in fashion center 2nd floor. It's spacey and well organized, loved huge section of home goods. Very clean and not too crowded. Staffs were too busy to fix the massive merchandise, couldn't help what I was looking for. But still it's good place to shop. I love tj max stores and I am frequent shopper in nanuet ny so I decided to give this a try with no tax on clothes. I got a lot of great merchandise but it is messy and a lot of departments have items thrown around the clearance dept in the beauty aisle is pushed in the corner and hard to see. I typically never write yelp reviews but I had such a terrible experience both times I have come to this store. This store is about 10minutes from my job so I thought it would be easy to stop by on my lunch break. I shopped for about 20 minutes and grabbed 3 things and jumped on the line thinking I still had about 25minutes to spare before I had to be back at work. I waited in line for about 15minutes and only moved up about 3 spots and there were still several people ahead of me in line so I had to leave my items. I came back the next day to pick up the items I had left. This time I did not shop at all. I walked in and just grabbed exactly what I had yesterday and went and stood in line. I was standing in line for 40 minutes. I shop a lot at many different stores and I have never stood in any line that long. I like the store and the items they have but the wait in line is just too long. They are obviously not hurting for customers so would it hurt them to hire more cashiers so people don't have to wait in line for a massive amount of time.
