Jos. A. Bank provides a great shopping experience. From the outside, the store often appears empty, but the interior operation is meticulous and well-organized. The staff truly shines here; the consultants are nice, genuine, and well aware of their products. They know exactly what they have in stock and where to find it. I was able to pick up two shirts, some cufflinks, and bow ties in an absolute breeze thanks to their expertise. Horrible customer service. I stopped in today to shop for a suit for my upcoming wedding. I was met by an employee and explained that I was getting married and what my vision was. I wanted a sand colored suit and that was the only direction I had walking in. Initially he tried to talk me out of what I wanted FOR MY WEDDING. Finally we started the sizing process and looking through catalogs. Another customer is standing nearby looking at suits and my salesman approaches him and asks if he needs help. I assumed he was going to direct him to another salesman since, you know, we were 15 minutes into my process. I overhear the customer say he's looking to purchase 2 suits. I'm now standing where my salesman left me for about 10 minutes as I watch him sizing the other customer and showing him everything they have to offer around the store. Felt like I should go back over and say I was looking for 3 suits actually just to get his attention back but I walked out instead and won't be going back. I'm sure I can find another company willing to help me prepare for my wedding. read more

My husband was very pleased with the service, cost and quality here. Pro-tip: there's always (or frequently) a sale going on so make sure you check their website and the store before you purchase. Service was pretty excellent. There was a small issue with the tailoring (pants were cuffed instead of cut) and they fixed it on the spot no hesitation and apologized for the mistake. Even steamed the suit jackets before we took them home. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a standard inexpensive suit. read more

At this location some staff members are wanna-be "professionals" who are accusatory and rumor-mill generators. I was accused of returning a worn pair of shoes I had purchased as an insurance policy and never wore outside of trying them in the store. And they know it because there were no indications of wear. When you arrive they eye you up and down and while they are often helpful, that return experience - and the comments being made amongst sales staff during my return process - was utterly disgusting. For that reason alone I will never set foot at this branch again. read more

Many of us (men) have seen their commercials where they offer some really good deals on casual and formal attire. Things like buy one suit get 3 shirts, 3 ties and a sweater for free come to mind. Of course, in Jersey you never have to worry about sales tax, so the value actually increases. However, if you've never been to a Jos. A. Bank, let me tell you what to expect. Don't expect contemporary or fashion-forward styles. You want to think about a dressed up Tommy Bahama on this one. You won't find anything remotely resembling "slim fit" here. What you will find are traditional designs for the older gentleman. But not all stores are created equal. At this location, it seems the buyer had a flare for European design, late 80s - early 90s design. So you'll see a lot of colorful prints and non-traditional colored suits. Nothing wrong with that, but I don't want to look like a stock broker from the 80s. I would like to look like a detective from Miami during the 80s though. Sadly, you won't find those styles here. I have come to appreciate the quality of Jo A Bank clothes with a few purchases here and there, over the last year, ...as my budget allows. After seeing how well the clothes wear (my 3 pairs of chinos, a sport jacket, and a few casual shirts) I keep returning. The clothes hold up amazingly and look excellent. With each visit and comparing to other reputable stores, I inconsistently impressed with both quality and smart fashion. And they akways have inventory in my size! That never happens. Today, however, the service exceeded expectations. A mix up with a sale reservation was straightened out with no issue. John, the manager, handled it so couteously and professionally i was truly happy. That rare combination of excellent merchandise and superb service makes it a true pleasure to shop. Very unfriendly manager. On labor day the company posted a $20 coupon to their corporate webpage if you spend more than $100. I downloaded the coupon before going to the store, but forgot to take my phone with me. When I got to the store I realized I forgot it, but I'm not going all the way home just to save $20. I told the manager at the counter that I forgot the coupon and he pretended to know nothing about what I was talking about. Its labor day. EVERY SINGLE CUSTOMER in the store should be getting that coupon, but he claims to not even know about it. Now I am unhappy. I ask him if he has an internet connection to check the webpage to get the coupon for me. He tells me that he can't check my email and that each coupon is specific to the person who gets it. Finally, when I ask him point blank "are you really not going to help me?" one of his workers hands him his personal phone with the coupon on it. The manager makes an audible HUFF at his worker trying to help me out (how dare he) and then punches in the coupon code. I stand there waiting for him to say something along the lines of "sorry about the confusion --- its very busy today" etc...instead he gives me the cold shoulder and says nothing. hands me my receipt and literally turns away. Really? I felt like shouting to everyone in the store to make sure they get their free $20 coupon because this shitty manager isn't going to budge an inch out of his way to help you. Short story is that I won't be going back to this location. Their in-store selection is mediocre and (at least one of) the managers is giant prick. The store is increasingly a gimmick anyways, just order online and try it on in the store or send it to your home. Lower prices and better selection...and don't have to deal with route 17 traffic or the jerky staff. read more

Sales Executive Elie Abboud said he would hold the tailor for me if I came right down. 35 minutes later I had a tailored tuxedo in my hands and was walking out of their store. First, I really appreciated how safe and comfortable I felt shopping in the store with all staff wearing masks. My fiancé and I came in here for my tuxedo rental for our upcoming wedding (hopefully!) and we could not have been happier with the customer service and experience. I just purchased 4 suits from this store... though the staff remains top notched the quality of the suits is horrific. I could not begin to tell you my disappointment. I have always struggled with the high cost of alterations at this store but, it was still worth it to me for the customer service and the quality of the suits. If you are looking for good quality business attire, this is the place. Not over the top price wise as a result of the insane sales they have. Not uncommon to see buy one get three. Buy one get the next half off. Things like that. They sell shoes as well, tailor on site. Different grades of garments, they also rent Tuxedos. read more

If you need suit rentals for your wedding find someplace else!! The staff has no customer service skills what so ever. They either look like the are too busy to help or on their cell phones. My 7 year old son was a ring bearer for a wedding and they chose this chain so I had no choice. Maybe my mistake was the location I picked. The whole rental process was horrible. No one guides you through the process of telling you when you have to pick up or drop off. After paying $200 for a 7 year olds rental (which was all adjustable waist and neck of shirt) and $40 late fee, I say so not worth the visit to this location. I was informed that the contract I signed over a month and a half ago stated that the suit needed to be back the day after the wedding?! The district manager Judy was just as unhelpful as the Rt. 17 location. read more

I was a Syms shopper for years and understood the value of a well made suit at a sharp price. I selected suites that were of a traditional style so I could get years of wear from them. Since Syms is no longer in business, I went to Jos A Bank and was helped by a wonderful salesperson, Elie Abboud. I must confess the service was much better than I received at Simms. Though I am happy with my purchases I still do miss Syms quality. read more

Unlike all the stores at the bergen mall, where staff is helpful, I found one sales person extremely arrogant and "buy now or leave" attitude at the Jo's A Bank here. We had to be quite gingerly and tender in the store... We were thankfully rescued by another younger girl who guided us properly. read more
