I had a disappointing experience shopping for a mother-of-the-bride dress at Tony Conte. I scheduled an appointment with Angela. Initially, Angela was friendly and helpful as I began looking through the selection. However, when I mentioned that I needed to come back to show my family before making a decision, her attitude shifted dramatically. She rushed through the rest of my appointment and ended it earlier than the allotted one hour. I didn't even get the chance to view the dresses on the other side of the store. When I called a week later to schedule another appointment to see the dresses I missed, Angela told me I wasn't ready to order and told me she had no appointments for me. She is too busy with customers that want to make a purchase. I was shocked by such poor customer service. Shopping for a dress in this price range--$800-$1000-is a significant decision, and I wanted to be certain before making a purchase. Instead of encouraging me and offering guidance, Angela dismissed me and refused to give me another opportunity to return. I've never encountered a bridal store that expects customers to commit to a purchase on the spot, especially for such an important occasion. Now I understand why I was the only person in the store on a Saturday afternoon. We talked for about 5 minutes what I was looking for. She said try on this dress....I was hesitant. She hit it perfectly. The dress was outstanding......I received so many compliments on it. AWFUL EXPERIENCE. I called to make an appointment to bring my mother in to look for a mother of the bride dress. There was a mix up somehow, a miscommunication if you will on either end of the phone call. However, we arrived and were not even greeted by the man on the first floor. We went upstairs and were again not even greeted by the young lady behind the counter, she just stared at us blankly. I told her who I was and she opened the appointment book and said my appointment was not for another hour and a half. I said "oh no, I must have got mixed up with another appointment." As this was occurring an older woman came over to the counter and was rude and uninviting. The two sales associates (a young woman and an older woman) were both giving us attitude and clearly did not want to help accommodate us. We could have easily have went for a coffee and returned in a little while. I can't explain how off putting and disappointing it is to encounter this type of customer service from a "high end" dress shop. I ended the interaction by saying "okay, I guess it's clear you don't want our business." The older woman walked away shrugging her shoulders to return to her existing customers and the young woman replied "okay, bye byeeeeee". Disgusting behavior, not sure how they are even business. 0 star review. They should be ashamed of themselves, including the man downstairs in the suit department. read more

I called to ask about a tux for a ring bearer, the lady on the phone could not understand, said she doesn't sell to just one person but rather a bridal party as a whole and hung up. I recently lost a bunch of weight and one of my rewards was getting a tailor made suit. I don't wear suits often but it was a bucket list item to get one made. After years of wearing off the rack suits and having them altered to fit me I was a little trepidatious about having one custom made. I can't say enough about the staff here they put my fears at ease and worked with me to ensure that I was happy. Considering i only wear a suit a few times a year I want to still get another one made. I highly recommend this business and their family atmosphere. read more

I went for a dress for my daughters wedding. It was a horrible experience. The saleswomen was not at all knowledgeable and was curt and not very willing to accommodate. WOW FACTOR! After months and months of going to the so called, "IT" stores I get referred to this as one last attempt to find the perfect dress for my daughter's wedding - 2 weeks away! The woman ANGELA was remarkable. Warm, friendly and bent over backwards to help me. When i found one I liked, she could have easily sold me the, 'floor sample' given my short time frame, but she went above and beyond to get me a brand new dress, (JACQUELINES sells you damaged goods off the floor, then charges you $300 to fix it) If you don't want honesty - don't go, because Angela take every detail to heart to make sure you look perfect. I love this place. I loved her. I am fussy and a perfectionist. She provides it all. Can not say enough good things. So happy! I can not say enough wonderful things about Angela. I have been to her place twice for mother of the groom dresses and was tickled pink both times. I have referred several of my friends and they have all been pleased as well. Angela is very knowledgeable about what looks good on different body types and is a master seamstress which enables her to tailor the dress perfectly. I don't know why others were not happy. NEVER GO HERE FOR DRESSES. Stopped by the store on my way home. I said to the lady who runs the store I wanted to look at the dresses and then would make an appointment and bring back my daughter who is married, works, and has children. In a nasty tone she said oh yeah everyone has a story. At this point I started walking down the stairs and she said again in a rude manner oh fine. Now mind you no one was in the store it was around 3:30 on a Friday in January. One car was parked in the lot that probably belonged to the owner. With her attitude I'm sure I'm not the first person to walk out of this store. There are so many wonderful bridal stores in the area that know how to treat customer. No one should be subjected to this treatment especially since this is an expensive shop and this experience should be a happy time in a person's life. read more

I could not be happier with my experience. The dresses are amazing and I had a hard time choosing. I know some people are put off by needing an appointment but Angela knows her business and I was glad I had an appointment so that she could give me her undivided attention. She helped me select dresses to try on that were flattering to my figure type. She helped me make my final decision and I am thrilled with my dress. I had my first fitting a couple of weeks ago and she used her expertise to suggest a couple of alterations. Honestly, the price of the alterations was reasonable in my opinion. I went back today to bring the dress home and she helped me choose a beautiful necklace and earrings that complement the dress. She was a pleasure to work with and could not have been nicer. Even though it was a bit far for me , I decided to give it a try since I was having a hard time finding that perfect dress!! OMG!! I am so glad i took the chance! I made an appointment to try on MOB dresses. The saleswoman was so shockingly ungracious and unaccommodating that it was almost comical. I told her that I was looking for a dress for my daughter's upcoming wedding (Sept 2) and that my son would be getting married next June 2018. I was very specific about my figure needs and style preferences hoping that she would pull some appropriate dresses. She did not. She stood by as I went through the racks myself. Whenever I came across a dress I liked I would ask her whether this or that dress was flattering etc. Her tone was noncommittal to say the least. Mostly she just murmured some terse response - offering no insight or help WHATSOEVER. At one point I came across an absolutely gorgeous gown and said, "this would be perfect for my son's wedding." to which she responded, "Let's focus on one wedding at a time." "Actually, said I , I would like to try this gown on now if you don't mind!" I ended up pulling about 6 or 7 dresses on my own, holding them over my arm myself. Not once did this woman offer to take them from me and start a room. One of the dresses I pulled on my own was just beautiful and I thought "this could be the one." I mentioned to the woman that I would like to bring my husband back on Monday (this was Friday) July 3rd to see me in the dress; after all, once the dress is ordered there is no returning it. She was unhappy with this idea. She responded that she wasn't yet sure whether she would open on Monday as it was the day before a holiday, to which I responded, "OK, how about Wednesday?" She then responded that we would "have to see" Really? You have to "see" whether you will "grant" me an appointment?? I was absolutely gobsmacked. At that moment I decided that if Tony Conte were the last dress shop on earth I would not purchase a dress there. I began calling other bridal shops and quickly found one that had the same dress ( a Soulmates Dress) in stock. On Wednesday, July 5th I made an appointment, went in with my husband, and tried on the same dress. He loved it and within 10 minutes of entering Bijou Bridal I was saying "yes to the dress." The moral of the story is, if you can't provide good customer service, it doesn't matter how great your inventory is - people will go elsewhere - even if they have to spend a few more dollars. read more
