Went here for the 1st time with my mom on Saturday November 23rd 2024 to look for coats for moi! Went to burlington prior to this, and turns out, TJ Maxx seems so much cleaner and better! Aisles were neat, store clean, even had a fresh smell to it too! This is located in the shopping center with Ihop, and Verizon store nearby, so has enough parking. Walk in and everything looks like Christmas. TJ Maxx is also like Burlington as they have HomeGoods, coats, bags, clothing, accessories , and more! Actually went in here and also found gloves to wear during the winter to help clear snow off of the cars, and they had plenty of those. Also looked around the store, and found some more coats, and found a nice red one that i liked, and brought. Then, we looked around, found some guacomole chips, and some chocolate bars, as well as nice christmas decorations. Finally, we were done looking around, and went to the registers. had to wait in line again. Moved quickly though. My mom paid for my red coat, and her other stuff, and i Paid for my gloves using a credit card. Cashier was very pleasant. Hopefully would come back another time! read more

I entered the store shortly before closing to purchase a gift for my niece, along with several other customers who arrived around the same time. At approximately 9:32 p.m., we were selecting our final items and were preparing to proceed to the cashier. At that moment, the store manager, Irene, approached us and stated that the store was closed. I acknowledged this and responded that we were simply finishing our last selection and would head to the register immediately. Despite this, Irene responded firmly with, "No. You need to go to the front of the store now. We are closed." In my experience as a frequent customer at this location and others, it is customary for stores to make a closing announcement over the intercom and allow customers already inside a brief grace period (typically 10-15 minutes to complete their purchases). This did not occur. If this location is so adamant about their closing procedures, then the door should have been closed prior to 9:30PM and/or Irene should have stood at the entrance informing ALL customers that they are no longer allowed to enter the store. However, given we had entered prior to closing time, we should have been granted the courtesy of at least 5 minutes. Instead, we were abruptly instructed to stop shopping and proceed immediately to the front. While I fully respect store closing procedures and employees' time, the manner in which this was handled felt unnecessarily dismissive and confrontational. Being spoken to in such a forceful way, especially after acknowledging the request, was disappointing and triggering and did not align with the level of customer service I have come to expect from TJ Maxx. read more

Was surprised this morning. Very limited stock. Limited choices. No ground coffee. Didn't have the usual assortment of items to choose from. Ceiling was leaking. Shopping carts in parking lot all over the place. Huge pot holes in parking lot. In and out in 5 minutes. Bought nothing. Not worth the drive. Very disappointed. Most T J Maxx are very similar. read more

Wanted to charge me .40 on $6.00 worth of chips. Chips are exempt from sales tax in NJ but I guess this store feels that they can do what they want. Needless to say, I did not complete the sale. Just drop the J and M and call the store TAXX! read more

Will not go here again. I will travel to Middletown to avoid the rude associate I had to deal with. The associate ringing me up couldn't understand what I was asking so she went to get a coworker who I believe was a manager. She came over to ma and extremely rudely said "I had to leave my customer to co e help you so can you just explain to me what it is you need so I can get back and help my customer." I guess she didn't realize that I was a customer too but not anymore. read more

I am a frequent shopper at the Monroe location. I returned a skirt with the tags and receipt and was told that the skirt did not come from their store and and that it was not something they would sell and the cashier would have not sold it to me. Basically calling me a liar. The cashier talks to the manager in front of me and he says he cannot be bothered. Very rude miserable manager in that store. I love TJ max and I have never been to Monroe's. My friend and I decided to stop here on the way back from Paramus the other day. Right when we walked in they had quite the selection of candles on clearance. My friend bought 2 candles and some other stuff. As we were walking around we noticed the store was quite bare. Im not sure if they're closing or just trying to get rid of old stuff before putting new stuff out, maybe the delivery trucks didn't come?? I don't know what the reason was but there was a lot of empty spaces on shelves and racks! There was only one woman working the store besides the two younger ladies at the front making sure everyone had masks on that walked in. The checkout lady was a older lady and miserable. She seemed to hate her job and just didn't want to be there. They were out of paper to wrap glass things with so she asked my friend how she should bag the candles... how does a store like TJ Max who primarily sells decor and glass items run out of paper and glass packaging??? I don't think I'll be going back here again. I will say it was pretty nice shopping there because there was only one other lady in there shopping at the time we were there, it was nice not being in anyone's way or anyone being in our way. A lot less cluttered than most of the chains shops. This location is convenient and has a little of everything. If you're a label queen you will love the discounted prices. I love the fact that every now and then I find some fun shoes in a size 11 :) Quality items are discounted prices. read more

I was shopping with my mother today for about two hours. I walked in and saw an employee who was pregnant standing at the door. ​​I was making a return at Tj Maxx located in Monroe, with my 12 year old daughter. The cocktail dress still had the price tag as well as the security sensor on it and if it was removed I could not return it. However, the dress still had the tag on it. Secondly, I still had my original receipt which I paid $81.00 for the dress on the clearance rack. The cashier examined the dress as though I was returning a 10 carat diamond ring. The manager on duty by the name of Monique then comes over and she continues to examine the dress as well. Monique (manager on duty) takes the dress to the computer for an unknown reason I do not know. I asked several times why I am being treated as though I stole something? I was told by the manager Monique this is protocol and "because I want to!" I replied I never had this problem returning a dress in all my years shopping at Tj Maxx. It was embarrassing, degrading and it was obvious mistreatment because I am a black woman. read more

Yes you can find a good deal in this store there's no question about it and that's all what you can expect from the place. If you need some help on the floor you should forget about it doesn't exist. Management with poor training is normal in this store. They are not capable to solve simple problem. I have several examples of it. I give them two stars because the prices. read more

First off let me start off by saying I love the TJMaxx, Homegoods and Marshall's chains for the bargains! However this store is filthy, the employees are nasty and the aisles are always chaotic and messy. I've literally witnessed altercations between employees on several occasions while waiting on line at the register. All while the manager hid behind a display rack. Who does that at work?!? And what manager wouldn't get involved to end it the altercation. Also, I even witnessed a lazy employee kicking products under the fixtures by the cash wrap just so she didn't have to bend over and pick them up. The only reason I return to the store is for the deals. The Middletown locations are much neater and the staff is much more pleasant. If it wasn't for the convenience of the location I would driver further to middletown. read more

My family usually stops here when traveling to Woodbury Commons or to Greenfield Park. I really like this T.J. Maxx...it's clean, it's spacious, it's right by the highway. Found some great things here at times. read more

My sister comes to visit me each summer. She lives in Longmont Colorado and doesn't have a tj maxx. she absolutely loves the Italian lemon soap I get her each visit here. She loves the clothing prices as well as myself and shoes. I feel I can find lower cost shoes. I don't find the sizes of clothes for myself and although they have my sizes they are old fashioned not up with the times as the size 5 or 10s. I shop for mostly the organic lotions women's creams shampoos soaps the toiletries on those crazy messed up messy shelves but I find what I like and need. Sometimes women go thru the bottles tubes creams and open up every stinking package like a rat. so then I get angry to waste my time finally finding the product only to have it opened. But I go here for these items. I also like the unique food items like the lemon curd or chutneys or some of the spreads in a jar the Himalayan salt is great. there are cool kitchen things and nice paintings pillows towels but in general I go for the girly toiletries shampoos soaps undies foods and paintings home decor. clothes aren't nice in my size or cheaply made or not in style or picked thru and torn. Its a hit or miss type store sometimes good sometimes garbage. even tho it suppose to be a discount store it has high prices for regular womens clothing and shoes so called on sale .I think women are taken that they see names from italy or brand names still at 30 to 99 bucks . I am frugal and they might be cheaper compared to NYC ok cheaper but cripes i can get just as good same at dsw in NYC cheaper or better. I just think for the interesting variety of different things its a place to hit or miss to take a look ya never know. read more

This is a fun place to go when you have spare time and want to get a good find. The store is kept in pretty nice shape considering the amount of racks you have to go though. The rest room is clean and that is always commendable. The staff.on the floor do not seem to be all together knowledgeable but the cashiers are prompt and helpful. I don't always get the help I would like at the jewelry counter but they do have some wonderful, fun jewelry at affordable prices. I like shopping at TJ maxx. read more

You can always find something special at this place. I take my son to the toy department and there is always just the right toy at just the right price. I like the specialty coffees they have and all those fancy waters. I wouldn't buy clothes there because the Woodbury Commons are right there also. read more
