Although this is a fun place to shop, it's not much of a discount from target or walmart. If you want to save money, go to Ross. There's one within a mile away. I only shop here when I can't find it at Ross so try there first. Tj maxx is definitely nicer and more organized than Ross, but you really don't get much of a discount. Besides the prices being higher than ross, this really is a nice store in a great location in menifee. The store is always clean and organized well. Whenever I walk in, I end up finding something perfect for my house or my dogs. Don't really shop for clothes here but they have a lot of household decor. I usually shop at Ross because i feel their prices are more reasonable. TJ MAXX is not as much of a discount store as Ross. However, I have to admit this store is very well maintained. The staff is friendly and the stock seems to be higher end than Ross so if you're looking for higher end products with a higher price tag then you'll probably enjoy this store. I purchase shoes, clothes and household goods here. I've even found some great name brand shampoo at this location. Again, the price differential from actual retail is a lot less than Ross. If you're in it for deep discounts Ross is more on point for the discounts. I usually go to Ross first, if they don't have what I'm looking for I generally try TJ Maxx next. Their line system is more organized than Ross and the customer service reps are generally friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this store, bearing in mind it's not as much of a bargain as Ross but still a great value. read more

I want to start by saying I love Tj Maxx ! I swear by this store , but if you plan on shopping at their stores I suggest you avoid this location!!!! Customer service is horrible, rude cashiers who treat you poorly (Kathy), and the managers are just as bad(Michelle)!!!!! I tried returning something within five days of purchase, and they refused to return it because the top of the box was ripped????? .... I don't know if anyone has noticed but their makeup section 99.9999 % of the time has more then one thing damaged and they still have it on the shelf. The manager tried to tell me she couldn't return due to its condition and its store policy! I spoke with the Temecula manager who seemed to have no issues returning my item and proceeded to tell me that, that simply isnt true! I bought a night cream and it made me break out and instead of getting good customer service and returning it she refused. Again I spend more then I return and one would think being as loyal of a customer as I am I would be treated with respect. NEVER AGAIN WILL I COME HERE!!!!! This isn't my favorite TJ Maxx, but it's pretty decent. There selection is okay, a lot of clothing to look through. The store is pretty clean, but you do have to do some digging, just like at most discount stores. The prices are fair, not as low as other discount stores. The worst part about this store (the plaza in general) is the parking lot. It's always difficult trying to get into this plaza without getting hit by some other moron. read more

I like this store. It's well kept and the people who work there are always nice and friendly. And if you need help or ask about certain products if the workers are busy they'll at least give you directions to guide you on what aisle to go down to find your items. They have lots of great items that one might look for at discounted prices. They have lots of pots and pans and storage containers. They also have a good variety of water bottles, lunch sacks and dishes. They have varieties or coffee brands and food items. They also have cute canvases and pillows and what not. I would be giving this place five stars if it wasn't for the way their associates handle customer service. I was looking for some clothes when just next to me, a few employees were engaging in a very confrontational argument with a customer. Apparently they accused the customer of sneaking in clothes that didn't belong to the store, and when the customer showed them the display, they continued on with another argument. Like I said, good stuff to choose from, but definitely not worth fighting for. This TJ Maxx needs to step it up! read more

Absolutely horrible customer service from Tracy, one of the managers, she would not do my return even though I had my receipts and it was dated within the return policy. She stated it was against policy to return perfumes but would not provide me the policy that states that (I've never had a problem returning them before if I didn't like the scent). She also would not look up an item on a receipt that I was missing a tag for, she stated that items marked men's/accessories is not considered phone cases yet when I went to another store the following day they looked it up and the item matched. The other store treated me with respect and took the time to help me do my returns. They were nice and extremely helpful. Tracy from the Menifee tj maxx talked to me in a tone that was extremely disrespectful and almost belittling. I have NEVER in my 36 years of life encountered an associate let alone a manager that was that unprofessional to the point I am writing a review about them. I have shopped at that store for the past 10 years and spend quite a bit of money there and after encountering Tracy I will not go back again. love the store, love the merchandise, absolutely hate their customer service; I bought a set of earrings for my girlfriend, and on the same receipt bought a pair of O'Neill "Hyper Freak" surf trunks, a Billabong tee, and a long sleeve plaid shirt. I get home and start sorting things out(my girl loved the earrings), but when I pulled the plaid shirt I noticed a stain on the shirt, and upon carefully inspecting it, I was horrified to realize I had purchased a used shirt, OMG the armpits! Horrible, horrible smell! after calming down I figured, no problem I'll just return it or better yet, exchange it for a "clean" new one. I own a business in the West L.A. area therefore my whole life evolves at work or commuting to and from work, so I figured I'll just have my girlfriend exchange it for me, instead of returning it, specially since I could not give her the receipt because of the earrings I gave her, I told her, if you can't find the shirt, I'm o.k with store credit, I'm sure I can find something later. Something so simple, I could have easily been fuming at the fact that TJ Maxx sells used merchandise as new, but I wasn't. Nevertheless, these cheap managers running the store were able to turn something so simple into a can of worms, full of insults and derogatory remarks towards my girlfriend who was so innocent in this. My girlfriend walks in and goes straight for the return line where this heavyset woman who also happened to be the manager on duty was already waiting for her, she handed the shirt to this woman behind the counter, who immediately without even inspecting the garment says," that shirt is not ours", my girlfriend tries to explain the situation and the fact as to why she doesn't have a receipt, but the woman did not even want to hear the explanation, made my girl feel as if she had stolen the merchandise or was trying to pull some sort of theft against the store, then some other woman (also heavyset) comes in and inspects the shirt and says, even if you had a receipt for this, there is no way we could give you anything back, not even store credit, this shirt it's obviously used and we can't take used merchandise back, plus we don't even sell that brand name. Needless to say when I came back home that night, my girlfriend was in a very bad mood, and after telling me about her little adventure at TJMaxx, I was in a very nasty mood. I own a business and I can honestly tell you, customer service is critical in the game of competitiveness, customer service will make you or break you in retail, food, or any other type of business you are running where you have to deal with the public. I went back myself, with my receipt, and that nasty mop they sold me as a new shirt, and went straight to the return line, and guess what!, they credited my account with no problem, no one accused me of trying to return a used shirt, even after I told them that the shirt they sold me was used and that that was the reason I was returning it, all they did was apologize and got me out of there quick. I even walked the store and sure enough, there were about ten or twelve shirts, same brand, same color and even available in different colors. Why did they find it necessary to insult my girlfriend, simply because she had no receipt? Accusing her of bringing merchandise from a different chain-store and trying to return used junk, I am glad that so called manager is not running my business, I would have closed my doors a long time ago, if that was the case. Oh yeah, Maria was the name of that heavyset manager that was so rude and unprofessional to my girlfriend, don't know the name of the other one, the one that swore the shirt was not theirs, although I found ten or twelve more hanging on their racks. What a wide array of items here.. I especially like the jewelry counter and the knowledgeable assistant at the counter. There's not much in the way of mens shoes, or clothing. I came to buy items for my daughters, which is who they seem to cater more to. It could be area, because I've been to a few other locations that have a larger mens dept. I absolutely love this store and the location is very convenient for me and my family. The variety of things they always have is amazing!. I've never walked out disappointed when stopping by for a gift or quick stop for home improvements. I've never had bad customer service. Staff members are always very current and thoughtful. This 5 stars is for the manager Pam!!! I came in tonight 20 mins before closing because I needed a dress to wear to a wedding the following morning. I felt horrible coming in so close to closing but it was my husband's only night off in 2 weeks and I have a newborn and have been sick so it's been impossible to leave the house. I found 5 dresses I needed to try on, I rushed to the dressing room and asked an associate if I could try them on and she said I'm closed I said please I will be very fast and put them back where they go. She said no you have to come back tomorrow. I tracked down another employee and asked if I could try them on in the restroom because being I just had a baby I was so unsure of my size and the wedding was at 11am tomorrow morning which was the exact time they open so I wouldn't have a chance to come back. She rudely said no you can't take clothes in there and I'm off in 20 mins. So I walked up to the front counter with the dresses and placed them all up there trying to hold them up to my body and see if I could tell if any would fit. Pam then turned around to me and said I can hold them for you until tomorrow, I said I appreciate that but the wedding is at 11 and that's what time you open. She then said very nicely come on I'll take you back you gotta have something to wear to a wedding. I smiled at her and said omg I love you thank you so much. She walked me back and let me try on the dresses in the fitting room. And I actually ended up buying two of them instead of one because I couldn't decide. I'm a mom of a 6 year old and a newborn, I never get a break or even time to run to the store to try on clothes, my husband works crazy hours and am always in such a rush. I was so thankful that Pam took the time to make sure I found something to wear to the wedding. It seemed like she had a long day and I'm sure she was ready to go home but she took that extra 5 minutes and helped me out so much in a time of need. I love the store. I purchase pet toys there at a much better price than elsewhere. One big problem though is that waiting in the cashier line one is forced to smell the heavy scents of candles and such as part of their exit marketing strategy. I can avoid those scented sections when shopping the store but it is forced upon me in line. For someone determined to avoid it due to allegies that cause migraines this is a bad exit strategy. I did overhear the sales rep say it was a required shelf item required by head office for the exit line...what a shame. This shows no respect for a customers needs. I will continue to monitor this strategy and will reduce this poor score to a lower one star value in an effort to bring attention to this matter. Migraines last for days and hurt a lot!!! read more

The one in Menifee is great!! Brand name purses from $25 and up. Even Michael Kors and Guess. It is totally great with the handbags.

They have a good selection of clothing throughout the store, but their shoe selections very small. Their home goods has a variety of items and baby isle had many adorable things. Some of the items are a little pricy and are better off bought at the regular stores. read more
