Poor customer service. Have never been more unsatisfied with the way purchases and returns/exchanges are handled. Today, at the McHenry store, I finally found the last piece to my collection that I needed. I was so excited that I l could barely contain my excitement. I didn't even care that the piece had a small hairline crack in it but decided to see if I could get a slight discount on it. That was my first and last mistake. Right away the lady told me that she didn't think they could sell it to me because of the small crack. I didn't even care and said I still wanted it no matter what. There are no other stores out there that would deny a customer a sale, except TJMaxx. Any other store would still let you buy it AND would give you a discount. Pier 1 had just done this for me. I was nearly in tears. I begged them to please do whatever they could so that I could still buy it. I told them to write on the receipt no returns, sale final. I would pay full price. I didn't care. I asked to speak with the manager who was quite blunt, rude, insensitive and unsympathetic. The manager of this store needs to find herself a new career and should be fired for the way she treats her customers. I feel bad for the employees beneath her. I can't wait to call corporate to report her. This is no way treat your customers. I wanted something they were selling and they refused to let me buy it. The worst part was that if I didn't ask them about this then I would have been able to buy it. No one would have even noticed the very small, slight, hairline crack. I could have bought it if I hadn't opened my mouth. So now I'm sure they end up just throwing this piece away instead of letting someone have it who really wants it. Other people keep telling me that one of the employees probably wanted it since it's a very desired piece and they probably brought it home. I guess that's been happening at these stores. Someone else I know had gotten a discount at TJMaxx on a piece that happened to be chipped and they didn't deny her that sale. TJMaxx is extremely rude and they have now lost a loyal customer who just also happened to open up a credit card account a few days prior. Guess who is cancelling that account and will now spread the word about the awful way they handle things there. This is also not my first bad experience with them. Thanks for ruining everything and I will be sure to make everyone aware of your sneaky tactics and poor service to your customers. read more
