I've been coming to this location for years and never had a problem, until today. I was in line and it was pretty busy. When it was my turn to checkout, Daniel who is the manager rung me up. I had 8 of the same item so to help with a speedy checkout I handed him the 8 identical items first and told him kindly that there were 8 so that he didn't have to waste time counting. Apparently, he took it the wrong way and responded with "are you questioning my ability to count items?". I was speechless and quickly responded with "are being serious right now?". Then he responded with "no I can't smile because my mouth is frozen". I took the whole situation as him being sarcastic and rude. He was not professional at all. It's sad that true customer service doesn't exist anymore. I will NOT be shopping at this location anymore. I will be taking my business to a different dollar tree. read more

This is one of the better and larger Dollar Tree locations in the area. A couple things about this location are noticeable when you walk through the store. - Lighting is better and the carpet is in better shape than some of the older locations. - The selection is better and items are more densely packed than some of the other larger locations (where sometimes shelves might be partially empty or there's not a large number of each product per hook) - Organization is generally better than most dollar trees. There weren't too many out-of-place items or items scattered on the floor. - Store was kept at a comfortable temperature, not too hot or cold. As usual, you'll find a great selection everything from cleaning supplies to greeting cards to holiday decorations to cooking supplies. The quality is surprisingly good for the price you're paying so it's definitely worth a visit for any bargain shopper. read more

Over the years, it has gotten junkier and junkier. Just recently, they've moved everything around in a fashion that makes zero sense. Earlier this year, they had stunted hours b/c they said everyone quit. Unfortunately, one of the few people who is still onboard has become disgruntled and flat out rude. It's the Philippine lady who grunts about having three jobs often and complains and stares at you nastily the whole time she's ringing you up. I mention the three jobs bit b/c apparently she has forgotten she has told me this story about 5 times. She use to be nicer years ago but toxicity or whatever has made her unbearable. I'll start going to the one in Palatine. For more context, I went in there recently for cleaning supplies. I go there frequent enough for the same items so the lady knows me, I know her. We speak. (in passing, not as friends). She's looking miserable as usual so when it's my turn, I say hello and ask how are you? She gives the same spiel... "Making it." This time, she looks at me and goes, "What, no job?" I said, "What?"... She goes, "You're not working? You don't have a job?" The lady behind me gasped. I said... I work from home (I'm a freelancer in IT. I didn't mention this, just that I work at home) and I've stepped out to get cleaning supplies. She goes sarcastically... "Oh, well I have three jobs, this is my third job! I have two at home and this one in person. I said, "Wow, you're a hard working lady." What the hell is should I have said with that attitude? She looks up at me like she could burn me with her eyes. Even with the attitude, I say no thanks to the receipt each time and say, have a good day (regardless). Look here lady, I get it. It's hard to find help. It's hard to keep jobs. The economy sucks. But for the love of God, get out of the customer service work or at least try to keep such weird comments to yourself. read more

I love this dollar tree location. I often come here to pick up cheap items for the classroom. They have an entire teaching section and the inventory often changes. I actually feel like this specific location has the best teaching section. I also love to come here to buy cheap decorations for my classroom... from educational posters to Happy Halloween banners. I also buy a bunch of positive reinforcement items here like stickers, pencils etc. I also come here for my own needs. They have an extensive candy aisle when I spend a lot of time in as well as my favorite... packets of apple cider. I like to come here before birthday parties as well to buy balloons for only... $1! read more

One of the better Dollar Tree locations. A few years ago it was horribly unkempt and disorganized. The kind of store that pretends it's your friend and then doesn't show up to a huge event in your life when you need it most. I enjoy taking my kids there to let them pick out gifts for family members. WHY DIDN'T YOU COME TO MY BACHELOR PARTY. The kids enjoy being able to chose from th e wide selection of items. Sometimes checking out takes a while, but for the GREAT savings this store offer s I can't get enough. I'm just happy they got rid of the guy who was partially running the show there a few years ago. I went in to buy a couple things. I went in line and as I did the lady at the register left to blow balloons up for the lady in front of me. She calls for back up which was the right thing to do. Another lady comes to another register and starts taking people. I say to The back up lady we've been standing here in line waiting for the other person and the light is on. You should be taking us. She already had seven people deep in line at this point. She just looked over at me and said then get in line. I told her you should've told me you were opening that register and had taken those people that were waiting before opening a new line. I know it's hard to find workers, I get that but have some customer service skills. I walked out I'll never use this dollar tree ever again. I'd rather pay full price for things and be treated nicely than deal with that treatment. read more

Went here to get twenty helium balloons the morning of my son's wedding. Store manager Cathy was so nice and helpful with this nervous mother of the groom. Suggested we use large black garbage bags while transporting them. The idea was brilliant! Made it so easy, even on a windy day. Love the deals you can get at Dollar Tree and now especially like this location for the great service I received. read more

I work in this strip a few stores down, so its very convent stop for me. It has a nice selection for just about everything you need. The staff is pretty polite, and quick to call for back up if the lines grow long. They also are pretty efficient at keep the place well stocked and maintained. I usually stop in for a bottle of soda and a bag of pretzels during my lunch break but its been helpful since we moved. I've been able to get some nice picture frames, pet toys and dishes, as well cards and gifts for every occasion. The only real downside is the fact they under staffed, but its not there fault. It happens. They make it work best they can and preform to the best of their abilities. read more

This store opens at 9 A.M. My husband tried to open the door and it was locked. The male cashier in his 20s opened the door. Instead of "good morning," he pointed to the sign and said the place opens at 9 A.M. like we were illiterate. We won't be back. read more
