I've never had a bad experience here. Shelves are always stocked and neat. Parking is close in and in a safe location. Like any store some items are better elsewhere but this location is very good. I stop by at least once a month. read more

Not a bad location by any measure but not great either. This Aldi is a bit old, it's not terribly old like the one in Chicago I reviewed but it predates their rollout of self checkout systems. The store is pretty spacious though. Aisles are wide and well accommodate social distancing. The store is clean and well kept. Organization of the store is different from other locations but still easy to understand use and remember for future trips. I'd give it a five star review if they had more than one cashier and maybe a self check machine or two. That said this location is pretty cramped. Getting rid of two cash lanes would free up space for four self check stations and a control tower station. read more

He informed me that all the staff at Waukegan had called off work and he had been sent there. I went to get three packages of chocolate candy bars,and the whole display fell on me.An employee must of heard the noise and came right over.The employee didn't even ask me if I was ok or hurt.Its very sad that u have employees like that.I guess I won't be shopping at a store that is dangerous to shop at and doesn't care about their customers. read more

I always start my grocery shopping at an ALDI. I can get roughly 80 percent of my groceries for about 50 percent of the cost elsewhere. Milk is milk and eggs are eggs, regardless of where you get it. You're not going to find saffron or your favorite brand of low-carb tortillas, but most of my family's healthy staples come from here. I know ALDI has a bit of a stigma. I don't understand this. Go there, try the food and compare. Most of the brands there are made by the same people who create your favorite pasta sauce, just with a different label. Still not convinced? The same people who run ALDI run Trader Joe's. Food for thought. read more

Love this Aldi location. This location always has good parking available. I've always had an easy time getting in and out. The store is always fully stocked. I've never had a problem getting all my basics here at the most affordable prices. The store is always clean and the staff is always nice. While Aldi doesn't offer a lot of specialty items they are excellent for all of your basic needs. They even offer organic cheese, veggies and fruit and great prices. read more

I go to 3 Aldi's, here, Mundelein, & Volvo. All 3 stores are good with kind and hardworking staffs. I appreciate their work even more now with Covid and others turbulence going on now. I hope people realize that these people are putting their health on the line every day they work. They're in there for 8 hours (I assume), unable to entirely avoid risk, because not all shoppers are smart and/or considerate when they approach employees to ask questions or when they disregard the plexiglass barrier at the checkouts. Also, the company is doing a good job improving their products to compete with the established brand name products. Their salad dressings, ketchup, cocktail sauce (when they have it), and many other products are better tasting at a much lower price. Try their pizzas, egg rolls, and wines too! I could go on, as a member of the working poor, I want to say thank you to the employees for their hard work, and the corporation for bringing us the values we need. read more

They don't have the greatest selection of items but their prices are WAY better than other grocery stores and overall quality is good. We shop there regularly instead of Jewel or Dominic's. BTW, they are owned by the same company as Trader Joes. read more

I have been a customer at this location for a couple of years, but lately there has been a drastic decline in this location Moldy green beans, boxes of brown white mushrooms, no meat specials available at 9:30 AM, no expiration dates on 1/2 of the bakery items, special plant/flowers are wilted or dead. Help me understand how Aldi can get away with NOT rotating product..... I have seen fresh onions & potatoes dumped on top of existing product, seen salad bags shoved in the cooler in front of existing bags, seen trays of fresh bread & buns set on top of older ones. I highly suggest a Dstrict Manager investigate the practices at LZ Aldi. This has been a topic of conversation in my neighbor hood... All agree on Aldi's decline. I stop into this Aldi every week to ten days and buy pretty much the same stuff every time. Been shopping at Aldi for many years, and have come to know the good from the bad from the mediocre-and Aldi has about an equal amount of all three. The store is run with an absolute minimum staff, as all Aldi stores are, so you're pretty much on your own here, which is fine by me at this point. Lines can get long at times, but they also move fast without the hassle of coupons and price checks and such you get at most grocery stores. It doesn't have everything I need by a long shot, but I stock up on a lot of good basic items here and save a bunch of money. Long live Aldi. read more

This grocery store is the best thing to have appeared in the suburbs in recent times. Their prices can't be beat and now that they have added organic products at reduced prices, Aldi is giving the other grocery stores a real run for their money. Yes, it could be a little larger with more offerings but I am always amazed at some of the new products that they have added. And I think the way they have set up their grocery carts is ingenious in that patrons return them & get a quarter refunded. I know of no other store that does that. Very smart & clever! I've been shopping at this Aldi's for years and while I would have given it a five+ (up to about mid-last year), the new staff is less than desirable. The old staff was/is excellent. I still see some of the previous staff there working from time to time but the newer staff including the supervisor(?) with the straight, long hair (usually in a ponytail) and usually wears a scowl, is awful. Where in the world did you get this grumpy lady from? In addition, the potatoes are moldy about 3 out of 10 times, as are the blackberries, strawberries and lately, I bought sausage (near the chicken) that had mold on it but didn't return it b/c it was late in the day and just threw it away. Lastly, while the staff has been fantastic about wearing masks, on multiple occasions in the last month, they have allowed/served people WITHOUT masks on. Only one time did I see an employee reprimand the customer and let them know that next time, they will not be allowed in. But otherwise, they let the previous people shop/buy. read more

A bigger, cleaner, and generally better than average Aldi store. Carries more items because it has more space. Well laid out and well maintained. Note: While distantly related to the Trader Joe owners through old family ties, it is in no way the same company, they just both have ties back to the same German families who split up the company years ago and went their separate ways. I typically only shop at this location when I am in the area and need a few items. I find that this store always seems to have unacceptable produce. It is either over ripened or completely gone bad. The selection is not the greatest either. read more
