I love the ice cream cones and my husband really loves the James Brownie ice cream in a cup... most of the time we order a large and split it. They have a rewards program and you can earn $5 off. They also give you a free ice cream cone on your birthday. They are always coming up with a new flavor and sometimes they have free collector cups that your ice cream is served in. You can order through the drive thru or walk up to the window and place an order. Even if the lines are long, you don't wait too long for your dreamy dessert! I recommend coming here at least once. It is definitely worth the extra cost! You can tell they use high quality ingredients. We are diabetic and even when we splurge our blood sugars don't spike as much as a lot of other ice cream places. So we prefer to come here for an occasional sweet treat!

The staff was extremely kind and helpful so I was still able to order my usual, cream based mixed fruit. It was ok, had more ice texture to it and flavor and wasn't as creamy as I was expecting. Of all the La Michoacana locations I still find the Mt. Prospect location to be the best.

I'm sure the staff would've been happy to answer any questions but I also didn't want to be a bother. I ordered two iced brown sugar coffees with boba and 80% sugar and they were good but still a little too sweet for our taste. Next time we'll probably go for 50% sugar level. Would try again if I were in the area or saw one of thwir other locations.

Other locations Ice cream and service were not even close. My favorite thing here are the paletas (Mexican ice cream bar) specifically the one with mixed fruit. It has such a nice creamy, sweet milk base flavor and then you get the burst of fruit. I've tried the Ferrero rocher, Oreo, and other fruit flavors which were all yummy and true to their flavor names but the mixed fruit one is my go to. The staff here have always been great. I am not familiar with Latin American flavors/fruits and on multiple occasions, staff was very patient answering questions about different fruits or flavors of ice cream and even giving me a taste. On one occasion one of my kids had mentioned something about a green slushy and when we went to pay she gave him a small cup to try. They also are quite generous with the amount of ice cream they serve. They also have a large selection of dairy free paletas. I did not try one but a bunch in our group who are dairy free, raved about how smooth they were (as no dairy) and how strong the fruit flavor was. The mango was a very big hit. There is a reason why there is always a line here. If you have never tried paletas before you must try them and this is the location to try it from.
