Came here at about 10:00am on a Monday to kill some time before an appointment. They had a great selection of women's clothing with some pretty good name brands. Also lots of purses to choose from. The men's section was smaller but there was a decent selection there too. Everything was fairly priced and we scored some great bargains. Housewares was pretty well organized with only a few things out of place, and they had a lot of cute seasonal items. Checkout was fast, efficient and very friendly. I'll definitely stop by whenever I'm in the area! read more

Love TJ Maxx! It is the upscale of the discount stores & you feel more like you're in a department store rather than a discount store. The place is very nicely laid out, more organized, a lot cleaner, & a wee bit smaller than their competitors but awesome finds are everywhere. They have a great selection housewares, seasonal items, men's/women's/children's clothing & shoes, pet items, toys, decor & more! They staff is pleasant and super helpful. TJ Maxx is always going to be a last-minute, quick shop to fashion for me. I honestly choose TJ Maxx over the malls nowadays. The location in Westport Arlington has namebrand items which are neatly displayed, that's a plus. read more

The store gets very busy, and sometimes there's a wait. However, when you want something from the jewelry department and nobody is there to get it, it's annoying. I patiently waited and someone came and attended to someone who came to the counter many minutes after me, and then proceeded to follow them to another part of the store for something else. Not even acknowledging my presence, I walked out the door -- and, it was a guaranteed sale in the hundreds as I wasn't looking, rather attempting to purchase. I called and spoke with the back office and the store apologized for the delay and asked that I would return. I would return, but had limited time today, and wasted 10-15 minutes just waiting, only to be ignored. At a jewelry store or full line department store, I never have this issue as usually a guy at the showcase is a guaranteed sale, but TJ Maxx seems to attract a good number of lookers who tend not to buy, or seem to buy the more fashion oriented costume pieces. They have fine jewelry and some designer pieces, but since this store doesn't have a dedicated Runway department, good luck trying to get someone to assist. I'm not hard on the staff as they are running around, especially when busy, but an acknowledgment that they'd be right back to help me would have saved the sale, not ignoring me to satisfy the customer who wants to look at pieces. Usually, there's a very friendly lady at the desk, but she was not there today, and what would have made my gift giving easier is now another trip to another store because I don't feel like returning to be ignored today for the second time to this store. read more

Even in the middle of the week, lines at the checkout loop to ridiculous levels. I guess no one works anymore, and they all come over here. Unreal but it's the reality. To the employees thank you, as you do your best with the throngs of people. I used to like this location and company more. Unfortunately I see diminished quality in brands and choices. Plus you can buy online, and not have to set in a traffic jam of customers. It is still a good place for mens dress shirts and ties. Also you can score some bargains on ever exciting socks and underwear. Shoes and other items, not so much. The same for their colognes. They used to have deals on high quality brands, but now it's mostly inferior ones that don't even last. I hope they will improve this once very nice store. Somehow despite the crowds the store is clean and organized. Yet getting in and out of here, plus the parking lot isn't a grand adventure. read more

So two stars because I love tjmaxx and blow my paychecks here which I need to control. I found some great items here and good prices the only reason why the ratings are low is the staff. One cashier is amazing she is so sweet and recognizes me everytime I go. Another cashier aggravated me so bad. I was in line and I heard the cashier available thing audio and I was just about to turn around since I was looking at something not even joking it was a split second and she's like "hello?!" With a bunch of attitude in her voice. The fact was I wasn't even taking that long for her to become like that the cashier audio literally JUST announced itself. This is my favorite place to go to stock up on gift giving accessories like paper, cards, bags, boxes bows, and other accoutrements. For half of the price of what you would pay at a specialty shop like Paper Source you can get smartly designed stationary in a thick, luxurious finish. Cacti, pineapples, unicorns, llamas, doughnuts, and pugs...they have every single design trend possible! Date and time of visit: 7/1/22 around 2 pm. This review rating is specifically for the MANAGER. (Unfortunately I didn't get her name but I will certainly find out so I can report you to the corporate) I come to this location about once a week so I am familiar with the faces of the employees and the manager. In the past, I have dealt with the manager at the cashier and it felt a vibe that she wasn't the most pleasant person in the service industry. So today I come to check out my items at the register and maybe there was 3-4 people ahead of me. Not a big deal since there are about 3-4 registers open. Over the intercom, the manager is calling for additional help from her employee. Wow talk about condescending mistreatment of her employees. The employee comes out in all sweat and gets shouted by the manager "open up the register now!!" in front of all customers and her coworkers. Poor girl was almost in tear and was shaking while she was checking me out. And this isn't the first time that I have witnessed her talking down to her employees. I hope she gets some training in how to manage people otherwise you have no business in the position you hold. read more

WHAT? like if they have everything memorized that's how it was nothing was altered and she denied the return. Don't shop here. The lady helping me made it seem like she owned TJ MAXX lol read more

Trust me when I say "you get the max for the minimum." Let's take that late 90's slogan literally for a second. Let me acknowledge but avoid harping on the usual complaints. Is there the occasional tin labeled "Indian spices" that, when you pick it up, leaves you curry-handed? Of course. In the mug section, are you sometimes playing a game of minesweeper with ceramic shards? You bet. But is this place hands down the cheapest option for new high-quality brand name goods if you know what you're looking for? It certainly is. I'm talking cheaper than Walmart, people. Let me give you a guide to what I buy at the Fairfax Main Street TJ Maxx. COFFEE If you buy off-brands of coffee here, they cost less than the store brand at a grocery store. The K-cup game is strong, too. I just got 18 for 5.99, and that's not even on clearance. They carry Starbucks, too, but it's for slightly more. SNACKS The cheapest place to get some of my favorites. Bags of Pop Corners 2.79 and under. Kind bars 2.39 a box. All kids of weird organic stuff that never took off for cheap enough that you're willing to try it out. Lots of coconut water and dried pasta, too. COSMETICS I've snagged great colors of OPI and Essie here for under 3.99. You can't beat that. They also recently started carrying cast-off Smashbox items, sometimes in weird colors, sometimes not. BOUGIE BATH PRODUCTS The sprays that cost a fortune. Rusk. Chi. Batiste. Shampoos with all-natural ingredients. Those latest beauty trends like charcoal masks. All here and for low prices. DRESSES The one-stop guilt-free shop for a last-minute wedding guest dress. You can almost always get what you want for $20-30. SHOES Almost every pair of shoes I own are from here. They consistently carry a great selection of Steve Madden shoes and boots. They occasionally have higher-end designer shoes, too, and things eventually go on clearance. You know it's a good deal if there's a red or yellow sticker on them! BABY STUFF God, I wish they carried diapers! But that said, this place has brand name baby clothes like Carters and Burt's Bees for super-low prices. They occasionally have bigger things, like Graco rockers and strollers. If you want more of the big stuff, I'd recommend checking out the Marshall's down the road in Fair City Mall. PET STUFF Spoil your pooch for next to nothing! They have a great selection of adorable toys (think giant squeaky donuts, hamburgers, little squealing pigs your pup can pull our of a little pig house) for under (sometimes way under) $6. They also have awesome prices on treats, including dental treats and elk antlers. KITCHEN When we needed a muffin tin, we came here and got a mid-grade one cheaper than the cheapest one on Amazon. This place is perfect for pots and pans, random appliances, wine glasses...but just make sure they aren't broken! DECOR What was cool five months ago? They have whatever it is in droves for 5-15 bucks. Cactus decor. Pineapple everything. Himalayan Salt Lamps. Go crazy with it. I'm a new mom, and I have found myself at this TJ Maxx at least once every two weeks to "provide for my family." As a new mom, I was up in the middle of the night last night messing around on my phone, and I saw that my beloved TJ Maxx had only 2 1/2 stars and I was sent into a rage by this injustice! I'm not saying it deserves 5 stars, but this TJ Maxx is way better than its current rating! Oh, and I believe the review with the picture of the escalator is inaccurate, because my lovely Main Street TJ Maxx has no escalator to speak of. read more

Dreadful customer service. I had ordered a clothing item from the on-line service. One item still had security tag attached which warns that any attempt to remove the tag would result in damage to the item. I took the item to the nearest store to have the tag removed. The store apparently did not have the capability to remove the type of tag attached and could have simply apologized for their inability to help. Instead, I received a lecture from three ladies that it is not their store policy to deal with any item ordered on line through T.J.MAXX, HOMEGOODS, SIERRA, MARSHALLS'S, etc. I showed them the receipt from my order which clearly states that customers can take on-line purchased products to any store in the corporate chain I was told that they follow store policy not corporate policy. I drove to the nearest Marshall's received a friendly greeting and the staff representative immediately removed the tag. Customer focused management makes all the difference in the world. I filed a complaint with corporate headquarters and received an apology for the behavior I experienced. . . read more

I can always find great quality items at a great discount price. I specifically go to TJ Maxx for the workout gear. Running/workout tights, jog bras, tops with moisture-wicking fabric, athletic jackets, etc. Great prices, high quality that will last. You can't beat that. They also have great handbags, accessories, home wear, dishes, pots, pans, things for the kitchen. They have everything, even furniture. Customer service interaction is very low. Everything is stocked on the floor and you help yourself. You only interact with staff either when you're paying or if you need a refund. Again, very little interaction. But that is ok. This is the sort of place you just look around and discover what you're looking for. read more

I am a fan of T.J. Maxx. The store is clean and well maintained. I am most successful at TJ Maxx when I enter without an agenda -- a clean slate mind understanding that I will need to paw through the racks. Sometimes I find great deals and hidden gems e.g., Michael Kors and Calvin Klein dresses and slacks, Ivanka Trump sandals - on clearance and other times I leave empty handed. I'm a shoe girl and I can typically find great deals on super nice shoes -- normally I like their selection. It's a discount store so if you are looking for Nordstrom's level customer service then you probably shouldn't bother. read more

However, we're not at Nordstrom... and I ALWAYS keep that in mind. Nevertheless, this location loses half a star for their tight parking lot situation. I really would appreciate it they actually enforced the mask law. I want to shop here but I kept having these two women approach me without masks and when I asked them to politely put on there mask they started yelling at me saying that it's a private thing. I had no idea what was wrong with them but they kept yelling and getting closer. I asked an employee on my way out to please consider better enforcement given said incident and it was very obvious by the response she could not care less. Really disappointed they have all these signs but don't actually enforce it. read more

This is an excellent location of TJ Maxx. If you have the time and patience to spare, it's worth making a trip to make your way through the store because they have a ton of great things! I came last Friday just to browse, and noticed that they had an excellent selection of coats and jackets. I ended up walking out with a super cute jacket that's perfect for fall weather. They even had a good selection of leather jackets which seem to be the trend this year and last. This location in particular always has a really good selection of items. When I was here in June, I picked up a Polo Ralph Lauren swimsuit for like, $25. The same exact one I had tried on a year ago in a Dillard's store, but it was a lot more expensive. I love TJ Maxx, Marshall's, and Homegoods. However, this TJ Maxx leaves something to be desired. It is a smaller store and has a smaller selection. I was also underwhelmed when I was browsing for an oil/vinegar bottle and found that the tops had all been stolen. Of the other TJX stores in the area, this is probably the least exciting in terms of selection. read more

All in all, a mediocre TJ Maxx location. I stop in if I am in the area, but I don't go out of my way to visit this location. Small store = smaller selection. And, like all TJM, it's a bit of a mess. Also, for whatever reason, the lines are slow, no matter how many people are in line. So. Three stars might be generous. But it has decent clearance sections sometimes. The Fairfax Marshalls is a much more happening store. read more

I walked in hoping to find an active wear and maybe a pair of exercising shoes. I soon discovered there's not much selection in the active wear to choose from so I picked out what I could find and dragged myself to the fitting room. The fitting room itself is pretty clean and organized but the mirror has terrible lighting on each side which makes it difficult to look at your own reflection. I just hope the pants I ended up buying are truly as cute as I thought they are when I looked in the store's mirror. I guess I'll find out!! I gave it two starts for the service and organization, as far as everything else.... I'm not too impressed. This is my first and last experience. read more

I went in this store today against my better judgement. All I needed were socks. After I was surprised at the selection, I got about 5 packs of trouser socks and proceeded to the checkout. I have never been in the store, so I didn't realize I was in the returns line. The "NICE" lady at the checkout (who stared at me as she moved at the speed of sound) could have told me I was in the wrong line. I stood there for about 5 minutes and the real line now had 10 people in it. A customer actually told me I was in the wrong line. As I got in line, the lady in front of me went to find the manager to get some help, since the Employee of the Month was the only person checking people out. It wasn't until the checker heard the lady leave did she call of help. Like I said, it was against my better judgement going in and I will never go back. read more

So, this might be a long one...I stopped by this store on my way home from work to look around for some nice deals and products (because you can find some expensive products from Sephora and other name brand stores for cheap here) and I was also close by, so why not. It was around 8 PM, and the store closes at 9:30. I grabbed a shampoo, a hair curling cream, a makeup product, and a couple other things that I decided to put back last minute. I made my way up to the registers, browsing in between the products and rows of stuff they leave for you to look at near the check-out. I finally get to the registers, where the cashiers are the same as every TJ maxx or Marshall's you go to, inattentive and neglectful of standard customer service policies. As I'm walking out of the store, I realize I don't have my car keys with me. Great. Imagine losing a small set of car keys in a store as messy as this one. It is small and so unorganized, even though they have thousands of employees working at every time. I make my way back to beauty section, where I spent 98% of my time, and retraced my steps. I look through the perfume, the hair and body products, the make up bins and aisles and everything, and I can't find it. I suffer from anxiety and panic disorders so I can already feel me building up a sweat and my stomach turning, knowing I had about an hour to find my keys and get home (I live in Manassas). I go up to this Asian woman working near the clothes and I ask her if she had found a pair of keys and she goes, "I don't think we sell that, sorry," in broken English and walks away immediately. Well, okay. I find someone else and ask and she seemed to understand, but also walked away. To make this story a lot shorter, it becomes 9:30 and the store closes, and the store manager, who has been alerted of my crisis by other employees, walks up to me and tells me I pretty much need to find a ride and get out. I tell him my phone is dead so I can't call anyone, and he literally goes, "we'll have you tried Uber?" Sir, how can I "try" Uber when I just told you my dang phone is dead!? I'm crying at this point, and the store manager reluctantly goes to find me a iPhone charger, with a mean attitude mind you. He comes back, I'm charging my phone in a pole in the store, while he's pacing back and forth near me, making me nervous. It's dark outside and it's near a sketchy area in Fairfax. He tells me I have to go outside, and asks if I want his male employee to walk me to the Starbucks next door, which I reply no, He literally escorts me outside and shuts the doors behind me. I sit outside in a bus booth or whatever, while my mother who lives in Woodbridge, nearly 45 min away, comes to get me. I'm harassed by a couple homeless people while, me, a petite 25 year old female, waits in the night time alone. I came back on my lunch break to this store to find my car keys, which I did, all BY MYSELF! I had a kind employee named Kedist (I believe) who seemed slightly concerned and she was walking around and making sure I was okay. I went to tell the store manager I found my keys and he wasn't available, but another manager (or idk who she was) was available. She got happy I found my keys and had the nerve to tell me to give them a 5-star review like PUH-LEASE. This store is full of people who don't give a rats a** about you or their job. The store is a mess. Products destroyed and smeared everywhere. The store manager is a selfish, neglectful of customers and his employees, and just all around rude person. I will never come back here. read more

Meh is how I feel in general about places that are clutter-filled and disorganized. I 99.9% of the time don't visit places like this because, now I may be slightly exaggerating here but nonetheless, feel anxious. Clothes strewn around, nothing in its proper place (like x-larges all up in the small section), and no one to assist you if-gasp-you need assistance in a clothing store. Then I just get frustrated. I noticed a small speck of a hole in my black tights I wore to the office today and, since I was already shopping at TJ's (the better one TJ-as in Trader Joes), and I still had about 30 minutes left on my hour lunch, I decided to pop in here to see if I could find a replacement pair. Well, the first issue was parking. I won't comment on the snow situation but, you could tell in general, this is a small, small parking lot, and because it is shared amongst many popular businesses, well, best of luck to ya! I did end up finding a pair of black tights but I had one option-one brand and that's it. Not that black is anything special but at least offer choice A and choice B. Then, once I made my way up to the line, I nearly put back the tights and walked out. This line looked like it was a Saturday, not a Thursday around 1:30-at least 10 people in front of me even though there were 4 registers going.I made the decision that I had already come this far so I should just suck it up and claim my spot in line. Once I was in the line, it actually moved at a decent pace. I waited maybe 7 minutes total in a line that looked like I'd be late returning to the office. points for getting me through the line quickly and that was about the best thing I can say about this experience. read more

I love TJ Maxx so much that I opened a credit card with them. Which I know is stupid but I wanted the 5% discount. They say Maxxinista -- I say a Maxxihoarder. Anyway, This TJ Maxx store is not bad but not the best. It isn't that big which I kind of like because it's easy to navigate, but the options aren't as vast as in other stores. Sometimes it's of messy near the food and kitchen section but the clothes are usually pretty organized. This store is right near my office so I like being able to pop in during lunch to buy gifts and such (which I always regret because the damn cheap price sticker is so hard to get off before gifting.) If you're nearby definitely stop in. read more

Don't know what it is, maybe it's just me, but I really love browsing TJ Maxx. You can really find some useful stuff in this place, sometimes cute stuff, other times not so cute stuff. By cute stuff, I mean bags, shoes, decor, furniture, kitchen tools...which I have no reason to purchase but if I ever had to, I would. I did however find books for cheap and an exercise ball. I was here today. They just got a shipment of Calvin Klein dresses! I got one for $29 and another for $46, both originally around $200. They didn't have very many purses to look through, but there's a lot of trendy luggage. There is tons of jewelry. They have those sideway crosses Taylor from Rachel Zoe would wear. I was impressed with their watch collection. Check it out especially if you're on the lookout for a white watch. You'll definitely need patience if you're looking for home items. I don't have the patience for it, but they've got tons of stuff. I think it's a great TJ Maxx. I definitely prefer it to the one in Alexandria. I know there's another one in Fairfax, but I haven't been to that one in a while so I don't have comments for comparison. Happy shopping! If you've never been to the complex before, in walking distance there's a Starbucks. If you want to grab a bite to eat before/after, there's a bagel spot, kabab place, pizza, chinese food and a pasta spot next door. read more
