"I don't need no fields of whiskey Don't indulge in beer or…read morewine But baby, you turn me on And blow my ever-lovin' mind" (Chuck Berry) Adorable isn't a word I often use to describe food, but I have to tell ya, these fun-sized (just two inches in diameter) donuts from Indulge By Palazzo are adorable. And that adorableness comes in twenty flavor varieties - peanut butters, candies, fruits, cookies, and of course...chocolates. They cost between $1 and $1.20 each depending on the quantity you want. I bought a box of fifteen for $15. I had some time to kill before my appointment in Rocky Hill, so I also ordered a small coffee, lemon, and almond donut to enjoy on site. Now that's easier said than done because the store is small and only has a counter with two stools. Luckily, both were vacant so I settled in, drank their excellent freshly made coffee (small for $3.50) and savored my little donut treats. Indulge By Palazzo also specializes in coffees and protein shakes to help you wash down those donuts, and it looks like they are set up to sell ice cream in season. If you are a donut hound, and appreciate adorableness, indulge yourself with a visit to Palazzo and walk out with a box of their petite sweet treats.

Staff working was polite and friendly. The shop itself did smell very much like frying oil due to the donuts. Donuts are small and perfectly bite sized perfect mini sweet treats.

Just like a dive bar that serves up good and affordable cocktails, Tastease gives you, "tasty" mini donuts. I went with my BFF to pick-up a special order of donuts for the post wedding reception party for the wedding party. All the donuts at Tastease, are mini donuts. So you don't have to feel guilty about eating more than one. The donuts are flavorful and the detail they put into icing their treats is amazing. The owners are delightful. Their warm friendly personalities, add to the experience of getting your doughnuts at Tastease. So, if you're in Hartford, CT, I highly recommend that you stop by and treat yourself to a donut.

Decided to give this place a go, so we made the trek here. parking is pretty much non-existent. The front of the store has spots but not much else. The front end is a little worn down, but the inside is clean. By the time I came here, they were mostly out of donuts. The lady in the front was a bit weary from the morning rush, so when I came in asking for a dozen donuts, she pretty much just started grabbing donuts to put into the tray. When a dozen donuts comes up to 24 dollars, you do make note of the price. These donuts had to be incredibly tasty to justify a price point similar to a french macaron. They were pretty dang good. Each donut was cakey, soft, sweet, and flavorful. The few that I had were done well, and some even had a little filling in the middle to help punctuate the flavors. If I got here early, and got time to pick a peck, and the price was a little cheaper to get a dozen, then I would be willing to recommend this place hands-down. Given the pricing and my issues, I had to dock a star. Issues aside, these little delectable bites are some of the best around. If price is no object, then you would be hard pressed to find tastier bites.

I got a scoop of Two Berry Pie ("Vanilla-flavored ice cream, strawberry, blueberry & sugared pie crust") in a cup and the little got Lemon Sorbetto! Both were rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor. Kilwin's offers a sample so you can actually taste before you decide, which is a major win. It was a tough decision, but I will be back for the Cake Batter. The cones are made fresh in-house and smell divine. Beyond ice cream, there's a whole lineup of treats dipped in chocolate: pretzels, Oreos, marshmallows, you name it. Sweet tooth? Handled. Diet? Not. Service: Everyone was super friendly and patient, even with a line. You can tell they actually enjoy working there, which makes the whole experience feel even sweeter. Atmosphere: It's more of a grab-and-go setup, like just a candy store that sells ice cream not an ice cream shop, so there's no indoor seating but right outside there are plenty of benches in downtown West Hartford. The area is busy, walkable, and perfect for a side of people-watching. The quality is top-tier, the flavors are spot-on, and everything feels like a treat because it is. Worth every penny. 10/10 recommend for locals and visitors too.

They are a "vintage-chic soda bar" with definite nostalgic vibes from the 1950's, or even earlier. Want an old-fashioned ice cream soda, milkshake, soda floats, ice cream sundae, banana split, or maybe a boozy ice cream or coffee drink? Well, belly up to their long soda counter, hop on a bar stool, and let your inner Fonzie go wild. You'll love their pastel pink, black and white color scheme, and you'll sure love their charm and hospitality. You won't see a zillion ice cream flavors on the menu, just the most basic varieties beyond vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. We ordered two Malt Frappes ($11 each), one Classic Vanilla and one Pistachio. They both came with whipped cream and a cherry, and my Pistachio was garnished with pistachio pieces in the frappe and atop the whipped cream. They were excellent, cold, thick, refreshing, frozen comfort food at its best and oh so nostalgic. Reminded me of the shakes we used to get t Howard Johnson's a lifetime ago. And the portions were pretty big, our server Gwen poured whatever wouldn't fit into our glasses into a plastic cup for us. Definitely worth a stop on your next visit to downtown Hartford.

Sure, you have, for a school PTO initiative, or in support of a kid's scout troop or marching band or Little League team, am I right? A few years ago, I bought a frozen pie from a co-worker and planned to put it out on our Thanksgiving dessert table. Well, that didn't work out because I forgot to take it out of the freeze! But even if I remembered to do that, I still would have been a "Fail" because that pie was uncooked and needed to be popped in the oven for 45 minutes. I totally missed that little nugget of instructions. Which finally brings me to Granny's Pie Factory in East Hartford. You don't need a master's degree in cryptology to surmise that Granny's Pie Factory sells pies, but what you might not expect is that they sell a large variety of fresh and frozen pies that are FULLY COOKED. Their website boasts 53 varieties of fully finished fruit and creme pies, either fresh or frozen. They come in a variety of sizes - 6 inch, 8 inch, and 10 inch. We picked up a frozen 10-inch Strawberry Rhubarb pie ($19). It was massive and seemed to weigh as much as a bowling ball. It clocked in at 2 pounds and eleven ounces. We sawed it in half and put it in our freezer for eventual use of one half a pie at a time. It is fully cooked and only needs to be thawed out to be enjoyed. No doubt we will enjoy it!
